Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Stable LM overview
What is Stable LM?
Stable LM is a collection of open-source decoder-only large language models ranging from 1.6B to 12B parameters, pre-trained on up to 2 trillion tokens of multilingual and code data. Available in both base and instruction-tuned chat variants, the models are deployable via the Hugging Face Hub, locally on-premises, or on cloud infrastructure with standard NVIDIA GPU hardware (A100, H100). Multiple parameter sizes (1.6B, 3B, 7B, 12B) accommodate varying compute budgets, while tokenizer options (Arcade100k and NeoX) provide flexibility depending on the model variant in use.
Base models support fine-tuning without strict commercial use limitations, making them suitable for organizations building application-specific language model pipelines across software development, natural language processing, and general AI/ML research. Instruction-tuned chat variants are aligned using Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) and are ready for chat and instruction-following tasks out of the box, including function calling support. All variants support a context window of up to 4,096 tokens.
The architecture incorporates Rotary Position Embeddings (RoPE), SwiGLU activation functions, LayerNorm normalization, and Grouped Query Attention (GQA). Full compatibility with the Hugging Face Transformers library provides a standardized path for inference, fine-tuning, and integration into existing ML workflows. Stable LM targets developers, researchers, and organizations seeking open-weight foundational models for experimentation and production application development.
