Stagent is a cloud-based Claude Code plugin that structures AI-assisted software development as a declared state machine. Workflows are defined in a workflow.json file that serves as the single source of truth for stages, gates, and artifacts. Session state is stored server-side on Vercel infrastructure rather than on the local machine, allowing runs to be resumed from any device using a single command.

Stagent targets developers and engineering teams using Claude Code who require auditability, repeatability, and cross-machine continuity in their AI-assisted workflows. Each workflow progresses through configurable stages — plan, execute, review, loop — enforced by a stop hook that blocks session exit until the current stage artifact exists with a matching epoch and a valid result. Reviewer and QA stages can loop back to execution on failure, closing the feedback cycle without manual intervention. Subagent execution is supported with configurable model selection per stage, including higher-capacity model options for demanding phases.

Live session pages stream stage changes, artifacts, and working-tree diffs over SSE with no polling, and session URLs can be shared with teammates or viewed on mobile during an active run. Workflow creation supports natural language input: a plain-text description of the desired workflow causes Claude to scaffold the workflow.json file and per-stage prompts automatically. Completed workflow templates can be published to a workflow hub and pulled by other users with a single flag, reducing setup overhead across teams.
