SubAssembly AI overview

What is SubAssembly AI?

SubAssembly AI is a cloud-based AI manufacturing app builder that converts plant spreadsheets — Excel, CSV, PDF, or whiteboard photos — into working browser-based applications for maintenance, inventory, production, and quality operations. Designed for small to mid-size manufacturers running plant operations on spreadsheets, SubAssembly AI targets operators, maintenance technicians, production managers, and inventory planners who need structured tooling without IT projects or coding. Multi-site manufacturers are supported through a single login spanning multiple plants, with apps copyable between sites.

The platform is anchored by a single plant model — storing hierarchy, part master, bills of materials, routings, plant rules, and metric definitions in a Metrics Studio — set up once and shared across all apps, a voice line, and a web Q&A interface. Five production-ready starter kits cover the core operational domains: OEE Tracking (live OEE by machine, line, shift, and product; downtime Pareto; MTBF/MTTR; alerts), AI Inventory Control Tower (safety-stock and reorder-point optimization, stockout prediction, ABC/XYZ analysis, supplier risk, what-if simulation), MRP for Small Manufacturers (item master, multi-level BOMs, routings, netting engine, purchase and work order recommendations, shop-floor execution), CMMS Maintenance Management (asset registry, PM plans, full work-order lifecycle, spares, meter readings, KPIs), and a Quality and SPC System (inspection plans, control charts with automatic limits and Western Electric rules, Cp/Cpk, nonconformance and CAPA, defect Pareto, supplier scoring, calibration, first-pass-yield dashboards). Apps are built from plain-English descriptions or uploaded files and modified the same way.

SubAssembly AI is deployed on a private cloud over encrypted HTTPS with nothing to install; enterprise plans support deployment in the customer's own cloud or on-premises. Pricing is flat per plant with unlimited users and no per-seat fees. The platform includes a voice plant line — a dedicated phone number that answers questions from the plant model with every call transcribed and logged — and an Ask-the-Plant web interface that returns typed-question answers with full source citations. Customer data is never used to train models, every answer cites its source, and apps continue running even if an AI usage limit is reached.
