TrustVerify is seller and business verification for UK online marketplaces. Operators check individual sellers with an ID document and a selfie compared with the photo on that document, check UK companies and their directors (Companies House record, directors and PSCs), and screen sellers against sanctions, PEP and watchlists with adverse media. Screening is continuous, not just at onboarding.

Every check returns an approve, review, step-up or block decision, with an evidence reference and a PDF report. The result, the reasons and the evidence are kept, so trust and safety teams can show later why a seller was let through, asked for more information or stopped. Bot detection uses device fingerprinting and behavioural signals to catch automated sign-ups.

Use the hosted check flow, or call the REST API and receive results by webhook in your own sign-up flow. You set the rules and thresholds, and cases that need a person go to a manual review queue. Sandbox test keys let your team try the full flow before any live seller checks run. A WooCommerce plugin is available, with Shopify by request.

Escrow is managed by Escrow.com, a third party, and can be set up from the TrustVerify dashboard. TrustVerify never holds funds.
