Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Value Alpha overview
What is Value Alpha?
Value Alpha is a cloud-hosted, self-serve valuation platform built for the lower-middle market, covering private businesses with $3M to $250M in revenue across 43 industries and 1,000+ NAICS codes. The platform runs up to 29 valuation methods in parallel on every submission: five core methods applied universally (DCF, Comparable Companies, Precedent Transactions, Asset-Based Floor, and Bottom-Up Unit Economics) plus up to 24 sector-specific models calibrated to the company's sector, including SaaS Rule-of-40, Biotech SOTP and rNPV, Bank P/TBV, Cap-Rate REIT, MedTech Market Model, LBO, and Franchise Unit models, among others. Scenario Analysis and Monte Carlo Simulation run on top of the blended output. Every valuation produces a confidence-scored bear/base/bull range (the VA Range), calibrated against 20,000+ M&A reference deals and 12,700+ public comparables, and a VARI reliability score (0-100, graded A-F) that surfaces disagreement between valuation engines. An IC-ready PDF memorandum is generated on every valuation; Excel models are available on Pro and Team plans. Document ingestion is handled by an AI-powered extraction layer that autonomously parses unstructured financial documents (PDFs, CIMs, teasers, CSVs, Excel files, and QuickBooks exports) and traces each figure to its source page.
Value Alpha consolidates valuation with adjacent deal-workflow tools in a single platform. A PE-style deal pipeline tracks targets from sourced through screened, modeled, IC, and closed. A data room with controlled share links supports document sharing. Portfolio tracking allows re-runs as sector multiples shift, and a monthly VA Index publishes updated private-market sector multiples. A marketplace connects buyers and sellers, and a free valuation calculator requires no signup. Pro and Team plans add an AI chat assistant trained on deal data; the Team plan adds API access, white-label PDF and Excel reports, and SSO/SAML on request. A Cmd+K command-line interface is available on the Pro plan. The platform targets SMB owners preparing for a sale, capital raise, or succession; ETA searchers and search funds; independent sponsors; private equity deal teams; family offices; M&A advisors; corporate development teams; biotech founders from Series B through IPO; and venture investors operating in a segment where institutional data vendors such as CapitalIQ and PitchBook have limited comparable depth.
