Crew members check items in and out by scanning barcodes with a phone camera, eliminating the need for dedicated scanner hardware (though hardware scanners are also supported). Every transaction is tied to a specific person and job, building a permanent, searchable audit trail across the organization.

Waypoint Systems extends beyond basic check-out/check-in with a feature set built for operational complexity. Reservations prevent double-booking of gear across concurrent jobs. Maintenance schedules advance automatically when service is logged, and batch logging lets technicians scan multiple items at the bench and record a single maintenance entry for all of them. Custody hand-off PDFs with signature capture document transfers between responsible parties.
