Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

XAM overview
What is XAM?
XAM is an artificial intelligence powered platform that automates the creation of pedagogically aligned assessments from source materials. The software converts textbooks, research papers and lecture notes into structured exam questions through automated content analysis and synthesis. The platform serves educational institutions across universities, secondary schools and international academies with a user base in thousands of active classrooms worldwide. It addresses the time intensive process of manual assessment creation by generating multiple question formats with academic rigor and taxonomy alignment.
The question generation engine supports multiple assessment formats including multiple choice questions, true false statements, matching exercises and short answer prompts. Users can configure question difficulty across three levels and align content with Blooms Taxonomy cognitive stages ranging from recall and understanding through application, analysis, evaluation and synthesis. Native support for right to left languages and multi script content is provided with text reconstruction that repairs broken PDF encoding for languages such as Urdu, Arabic, French and Spanish. A dedicated LaTeX engine enables the representation of mathematical and scientific notation within questions while an AI processing depth control allows adjustment of content analysis complexity alongside a Creative Mode for scenario and case study generation.
A centralized cloud hosted repository offers content management with nested folder structures, keyword search, drag and drop file organization and cross device synchronization. The export engine provides customizable layout controls with themes named Professional, Academic and Minimalist alongside adjustable margins and typography. Institutional branding is supported through logo uploads and dynamic header and footer placeholders. Automated sections allow grouping of questions by type with configurable time limits, automatic answer key generation and password protection to secure exported documents.
The workflow consists of secure file upload supporting PDF and DOCX formats, configuration of difficulty parameters with taxonomy alignment and a final review and export stage. Source materials are processed using optical character recognition in memory to preserve data privacy during extraction. Real time previews allow review of generated questions before finalization and full editing capabilities support post generation modifications. Exported assessments are available in both PDF and editable Word document formats with maintained formatting integrity across output types.
