Ziperase Mobile Erase is certified data erasure software for Android and iOS phones and tablets, built for ITAD providers, mobile refurbishers, electronics recyclers, retail trade-in programs and enterprise IT teams. Devices connect by USB and are scanned in automatically.

Android and iOS in one batch

Android and iOS devices sit side by side in the same batch and go through one workflow with one report format. iOS firmware is downloaded once per model and cached locally for every later device of that model. Android devices need a one-time USB debugging setup, after which they process like any other unit. Devices are processed in parallel, and additional devices queue and start automatically as slots free up.

Activation lock detection

Devices are checked at intake for Find My iPhone, Apple MDM, carrier lock, active eSIM profiles, GSMA lost-or-stolen status and Android FRP (Factory Reset Protection) locks, so locked devices are flagged before they enter the workflow. PIN-locked iPhones can still be erased, with the passcode removed as part of the process. After erasure, an activation check confirms the device is no longer linked to an Apple ID.

Hardware diagnostics

Configurable hardware tests run alongside erasure. Operators choose which tests run and in what order for each batch, covering the LCD screen, multitouch, battery and battery drain, front, back, ultra-wide, telephoto and fusion cameras, camera flash and autofocus, charging port, speaker, earpiece, mic, headset jack, vibration, hardware keys, Face ID, fingerprint, proximity and light sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS.

Batch handling

USB ports can be mapped to fixed positions on the on-screen grid, so each device card matches the physical port in front of the operator, or set to a flow layout that fills the next free position. A battery threshold sets the minimum charge before erasure or testing starts, as a warning or a block. If a device drops off mid-session, the software re-enumerates the port and recovers it. Reports are filed in batch folders, dated by default or named per batch.

Certified erasure and reporting

Every device is erased to NIST SP 800-88 R2 and IEEE 2883:2022 and gets a tamper-proof PDF certificate with a matching JSON file. Reports record vendor, model, serial number, IMEI, OS version, internal storage capacity, battery health and erasure status automatically. Extra fields capture operator ID, customer name, job number, cosmetic grade and any other details, with default values, input masks, and required or read-only settings. Template variables build report IDs and batch names from device data, and your company logo can be added to every PDF report.

Licensing

Licenses load online or offline from the Ziperase Customer Portal or top up automatically. A Standalone Ziperase USB stick can act as the license store for temporary on-site stations, and unused licenses can be returned to the Customer Portal.

Connect Mobile Erase to Ziperase Command Center to manage multiple stations from one place, sync reports to the Ziperase Customer Portal as each device completes, trigger label printing and push erasure records into ERP platforms including Makor, RazorERP and IQ Reseller. A local PDF and JSON copy is always saved first, failed uploads retry automatically, and stored JSON reports can be imported into Command Center or the Customer Portal later.
