Cognos is years behind the modern BI tools like Qlikview/Sense, Power BI and Tableau. I will hopefully never again have to work with Cognos products in the future.
Customizeable, if you know how to code. Probably could be a good tool if you have a team of trained Cognos experts that deliver all the reports and dashboards in very old-school Enterprise way.
Very very bad UI, unintuitive, messy and buggy. Very fiddly to get things right when creating reports.

I believe the software is good but we already have a data warehouse and Cognos 11 installed. This software is a bit redundant for us.
I like the flexible licenses as well as the possibilities for a power user. The setup is fairly easy to setup as well.
Many third-parties, some with expensive pricing. The QMC interface could use some work. The pop-up menus are too small. Set analysis are hard for non-it users to use in a self service environment.

Amazing tool for analytics
It allows connecting to various data sources, data modeling, data integration is kind of easy to work with Qlik Speed of data loading is relatively fast - powerful engine Gives you the flexibility to view the report through mobile app Features like interactive visuals and the dragging selection between charts is something amazing
Don't support third party visualizations Selection of charts depending on variables you have can sometimes be tricky (I would like to see a way that Qlik can show the charts available for your data based on data types)

Qlik is a leader in guided and self-service analytics tools.
The best of class business discovery software in the market. It's ability to handle large volume of data APIs that can extend its capabilities
Qlik Sense still lacks some functionalities and features that are so useful in QlikView. For example, Alternate States and AND-mode.

We use Qlik Sense to deliver enterprise wide analytics covering various business units, including Commercial finance, demand planning, after market performance, ICT, eCommerce, procurement, master data management, sales forecasting and market share analysis. The adoption of Qlik Sense has provided the business with a solid platform to build upon, moving from a silo approach to reporting through a multitude of large, static, cumbersome spreadsheets to an accessible, intuitive, powerful analytics platform capable to dealing with large volumes of data. For the first time, providing the business with a single version of the truth, the ability to see everything in one place. In itself the efficiency gains of this has offset the adoption costs by a considerable amount.
There is a direction currently with feature releases within QLik Sense which are focused towards the SaaS or Cloud offerings of Qlik Sense. This leaves those who have invested heavily in on premise enterprise deployments in a difficult possitrion, to gain the benefits of some pwoerful new features they have to look to reinvest further towards these SaaS or Cloud deployments, or bring in a hybrid model. Qlik provide no real split between what features are available in each of the deployment options.

Qlick sense provides a centralized management for the big data organizations. Smart search is the most usable feature available in the Qlick Sense. The app is pretty responsive which can work on any resolution.
Sometimes Qlick sense performance is not up to mark while working on the enormous data. It also does not provides automatic reporting feature.

Qlik Sense is a fantastic tool that helps an organization begin to talk about its data and even do advanced analytics. Since data is all over in most businesses, Qlik allows a central view of the data that everyone can use to drive engagements and discussion.
Cutting-edge advanced analytics integrations, focus on community and ease of use which helps adoption of the product
Extension support leaves a lot to be desired, however, native functionality is increasing every new release.

Great product to provide insights to the business. Hopefully, college education in the Data Analytics field will provide more experienced graduates in the future.
Ease of use for data connection and visualizations. Administration of the product is very straightforward and security model is very tight.
Had a range of experiences with Qlik Support technicians. Sometimes passed from one to another until the correct person at the correct level was reached. Does seem to be getting better.

Qlik Sense Contributes to the automation of the majority of periodic reports, as well as the reduction of the time required to compile those reports and the improvement of the overall quality of the work team's performance. Because of the ability to utilize it on all types of phones and tablets, we were able to rely on it at all times and use it for a variety of different analysis procedures and tasks. It is an extremely effective tool for us in our search for the best answers.
Qlik Sense is a tool that adds power to the organization, as it has many options and tools for analyzing and sorting data, and most importantly, it enables business teams to create all business intelligence projects using it, from ideation to final visualization. The platform is ideal for everyone and suitable for them with different experiences, as it is professional and easy to use and contains many integration options with many other applications, which facilitates the import and export of data. Qlik Sense allows you to explore, discover, and display data dynamically, and non-technical managers can easily consume reports and interact with dashboards. It also provides all the data on the cloud, which allows all members to further collaborate between them to achieve the best results.
Qlik Sense merely requires adequate training, and once you have the requisite skills, it's a terrific program, from which you can extract the best analytics.

Our goal was to have everyone reviewing business analytics in one spot and making decisions based on explainable data. We were Excel users for analytics at first. It was OK but we couldn't scale. We dabbled with Tableau. It was dreadfully slow and awkward. We demo'ed a couple more software and chose Qlik Sense due its speed, scalability and performance on mobile devices. Within days of using Qlik, our staff was able to convert 10 most used Excel dashboards into excellent dashboards that gave a much clearer perspective into business operations and finance. On modest server, we have been running Qlik Sense to provide enterprise-wide data analytics and our ability of decisioning has improved significantly due to Qlik.
Speed. Qlik Sense loads data quickly into memory and analysis is stunningly fast. It is very easy to get the information you need quickly and begin to make decisions. Slicing and dicing the data is very fast as well. Having used competing software like Tableau, Qlik Sense is a breath of fresh air. There's no waiting time during analysis and that keeps a person focused on the application and gets the person curious about information being presented.
The software's support model is horrific. Qlik uses value added resellers (aka VAR) for the most part. Most VARs I have talked to aren't exceptional and provide absolutely no valuable support after selling the software. They basically add zero value. Qlik has no idea what VARs are doing and VARs have no idea what Qlik is trying to tell them. Getting a license key correctly can take a few tries. Great software, horrific delivery. If I were the CEO of Qlik, I'd change the business model and remove VARs altogether and bring sales, marketing and support right into Qlik.

Its highly interactive and customizable visualizations bring life to my data. Qlik Sense's ability to handle diverse data sources is a game-changer in my analytics workflow.
Despite its power, the learning curve can be steep, particularly for non-technical users. While it connects well with various data sources, some connections might require additional effort with ODBC drivers.

Qlik Sense is a very important tool for me. I can quickly upload huge data from various sources. The dashboard is great. You get a lot of information through it. However, I feel that Qlik Sense needs some technical knowledge to understand it completely. If the themes and price is reduced, I will be very happy.
Qlik Sense is sensational software to deploy confusing data models. When you have lots of data sources and you have to integrate into one data model and get the result. I love the analytics sections in Qlik Sense; it is super interesting and easy to conclude by viewing its analytics. The best thing is that I can easily install it and accumulate my data into it.
You need to have some technical knowledge about Qlik Sense so you need some training to understand it. I struggle a lot with customization. It is difficult for me to customize as per my convenience. The current themes are very dull. I don't like them. The charts are arranged automatically which little setting options to configure them. According to me, Qlik Sense is expensive software.

We've used Qlik sense for a variety of different things. From analytics to financial statements and even reporting. If you have the experience, Qlik sense can be an undeniably strong tool for any business.
Qlik sense by itself can be a little lacklustre at times—but with the help of extensions—most problems and shortcomings can easily be overcome, making it very versatile in most situations.
On the other side of the coin, the base product can be lacking in some aspects without the use of said extensions. You need to do to research, as well as testing to find the right extensions to solve your issues.

It provides beautiful, eye-catching dashboards with astounding functionality on navigation. It enables you to provide info the user needs and to personalize information depending on their requirements. The customer support is very good and responsive. A given report can be utilized as a base to make another report so it saves your time to convey necessary info in minimal time with top outcomes. It can handle datasets of larger size in comparison to other tools like power business intelligence and Tableau. It has made it easier to transform info tables into a graph, filter, pivot, etc.
It helps enterprises all over the world work smarter, move faster, and place advanced analytics in the hands of everyone. It merges, visualize, explore, and load data easily no matter how small or large the data is. It makes and shares interactive dashboards in a manageable environment. It empowers everyone in the organization to make better decisions. It supports a broad variety of analytic use cases including self-service visualizations, guided dashboards, mobile analytics, reporting, and many more.
When it is not configured appropriately, it provides false data that is difficult to spot. It lacks the analysis side. It is best suited for simple analytics but it is hard to set up custom stuff, what-if scenarios, and advanced statistical analysis. The equations coding is a bit complex. It does not allow the production of pdf files and standardized reporting. The navigation handling is very tough.

Qliksense has a wide range of features that include interactive data visualisation, advanced analytics, data integration etc. I find it quite versatile in terms of capability in connecting to various data sources such as cloud based, big data etc.
There could be performance issues at times depending on the size and complexity of the data being used. Also, it requires a bit of training for someone new to this tool to get used to and explore the features.

Great company, great people, wonderful user community. I highly recommend this tool over others in its space. It's more of a European take on business analytics, than an American, so a bit less flashy in the graphics but loads of more feature-rich functions and abilities.
Very well architected in the back end, with loads of security and functionality to leverage. Easy to use from a self-discovery standpoint for even the most basic data lover. Covers our 80/20 rule of 80% self-serve and 20% access to raw data for advanced analytics.
Get's a bit clumsy top administer when your user base grows, unless you staff the tool with a decent administrator. Set your expectations early with the business on these needs, or you will struggle maintaining the tool while fighting for additional resources. A bit pricy at entry level, but more than pays for itself with big revenue gains.

In short, the best cloud-based business intelligence and analytics platform. I would say that the entry cost can be the only limitation when implementing QlikSense. I would also recommend that the existing QlikView (older version) users should upgrade to QlikSense to enjoy the latest interface, user experience, easier implementation and additional functionalities.
- Responsive and intuitive Interface- Ability to drill down to the data line level- Ability to export the Dashboards to various formats- Ability to use the Dashboards in presentations- Integration and Data Import capabilities
- Pricing structure- Automatic distribution of reports requires another licence- Somewhat steep learning curve- Can require high processing power for complex dashboards
