Great Organizational Tool for Startups

It's free, so that's worth the value of free money.

2018-07-24

Pros

You can create a task and then sign it out to another teammate and then they can reassign it back to you when it's completed. This is nice because it makes for a more robust system. It's actually a really sweet program because you're able to change views and you can look at date, likes, most recents, and even view by each account/client. This is great for account management!

Cons

Unlike Monday.com it doesn't give you a huge, clear overview of all of the tasks that all of the team members are working on.

A great project management system, but comes up short compared to others

2018-06-25

Pros

Easy to get started, and continues to improve with new features. Simple mobile version, and easy to reply to tasks on the go.

Cons

We found a product like Monday.com to have more options, features - and a better flow as far as communicating big projects.

Asana is basic and easy to use. Great for small teams!

2018-04-05

I'd honestly say that Monday.com (formerly DaPulse) is still the better option but if you aren't looking into expanding your team drastically, Asana will do just fine.

Pros

They have a wonderful free (basic) version of Asana for small businesses or projects. The interface is really easy to understand. It takes less than 10 minutes to setup and create users. It feels professional.

Cons

That said, compared to DaPulse (now Monday.com), they fail in terms of customization.

Very Similar to Preexisting Services

2019-03-19

The business problem that we attempted to solve with Asana was being able to create transparency and effectively work together as a team. However, it was only as a trial period and so I'm not completely sure as to whether I would reccomend this to others.

Pros

What I do like about Asana is that they create a pretty seamless experience for a group of people to be organized together and manage projects and divide up assignments. We have used this in my workplace as a trial period but we ultimately ended up going with another service. However, using Asana for the few days that I did was definitely a good experience.

Cons

This is very similar to a lot of preexisting services geared towards project management and team collaboration. Monday.com would be a great example of one that is exactly like this and is often actually even the preferred version.

Great webpage for organizing our teams information. Made the transition from Jira and haven't wanted to switch since.

Pros

More affordable than other software which provides same or less of the services for a much higher cost.

Cons

Difficulty integrating into Asana.

Best user interface!

2016-11-29

I was looking for a tool that would allow me to manage the progress of my team's projects and also where my clients can share comments and approve our progress as well. I didn't want something too complexed, but I wanted something that helped me visually to recognize the trouble spots. Well, this user interface is perfect for us. It keeps us organize and it is so flexible it literally only takes a drag and drop to reorder tasks. This tool is also very addictive to use, because you just want to turn all your tasks into green or the color you chose to identify when you have completed all your tasks. Yes!!!!

Pros

I love how flexible the interface is. I love moving my tasks around.

Cons

I wish it would present a better calendar feature like Asana. I love their editorial calendars.

Waste of time (ironically)

2018-11-23

Meh - I would use Asana, Jira or Trello over this software any day.

Pros

We tried to implement this software at the last startup I worked for but it was a massive failure. Entering the projects you're working on is easy but then you have to also enter some arbitrary number of hours for tasks and before you know it you've assigned yourself 143 hours worth of tasks to tackle this week.

Cons

Prioritizing isn't easy and all of this get visualized in Gantt charts which I find totally useless. When tasks don't get finished by the end of the week you just end up shifting them to the next week. We spent more time moving stuff around and setting it up than it was worth and the PM trying to manage things still just ended up chasing everyone like before.

Useful For complex

2018-11-21

Pros

you can add multiple tasks, asign people and add comments to each task, at the beginning it feels a little like asana but you have much more control here, and the dashboard is more simple, that makes posible for you to see more information that you would in asana

Cons

so when you are assigned to a task, if someone comments on that task, you dont get a notification, i think the owner of the whole environment, is the one that gets them.

Monday is a Better Designed, but More Expensive Trello

2018-08-23

Pros

Checking things off a list can be done almost anywhere so there has to be added bonus with a platform for something to stick, and with Monday that is its design and UX.

Cons

A lot of tools like Asana and Trello offer extended trial periods so by comparison this tool is fairly pricey.

Monday is the single best project management app for my business

2018-04-04

The software truly made huge projects and task lists feel more conquerable. I appreciate the ease of use, especially when compared to other project management apps.

Pros

The layout of Monday makes sense. The way the tasks are organized makes it easy to understand where our projects stand at a glance. It has a satisfying "click" feeling when you complete a task, and the timeline view is phenomenal for my team. I also appreciate the number of templates they offer for various workflows. I imagine I'll adopt Monday for internal workflows, as well as external.

Cons

The packages are expensive in relation to the features, which is disappointing because I highly prefer Monday's layout and organizational system to Trello or Asana. The ease of the user experience makes Monday ALMOST worth the cost.

Better Excel tool for collaborative teams

2018-03-01

Pros

Monday.com is highly intuitive and highly customizable. You can drag and drop to customize, you can organize boards into folders, team calendar for meetings, tasks, deadlines. Not a lot of integration with other platforms, but they are constantly working on it.

Cons

It is pricy, as they offer a plan for minimum 5 clients, comparing with Asana which is free for up to 15.

All the good parts of Asana, but clean and simple enough for clients and freelancers to hop in and actually follow.

2018-03-07

Odd names. Dapulse was weird. So let's call it Monday? It seemed a little bit pricey at first for me to get what I want, but it's not when compared to anything else. It's just my brain telling me simplicity should be cheaper than something that you have to take an onboarding course to use. But it's just better designed.

Pros

I went from Trello which didn't do enough to Asana which required some not insignificant onboarding and ended up being more than my rotating squad could handle, to this simple, customizable, and colorful whatever-you-want platform.

I Wanted to Love Monday.com

2019-01-25

Pros

I wanted to love Monday.com-I'm a huge proponent of project management across many departments in an organization. Often IT seems to lead the charge here, but marketing and operations can also benefit from this type of software. BUT monday.com feels too much like a pretty, simplified version of Microsoft Project. I do like that you can create separate projects and tasks but setting everything up and inviting people to join is cumbersome.

Cons

Software like monday.com, Asana, Trello should be simple and easy for everyone to navigate and monday.com falls short on this point.

2018-04-17

Pros

Absolutely love the customizable menus for setting tasks. In a world where busy schedules eat up time this makes working with volunteers manageable without having a million meetings. Great interface feels very modern.

Cons

Not a Fan

2018-10-01

A nice product, but certainly overpriced and (slightly) overhyped.

Pros

I loved the marketing videos and the website in general. It was the reason that I signed up for the free trial. The app itself is colorful and well-designed. Clearly, a lot of thought was put into the UX and UI.

Cons

Anything that could be done at a steep price on monday.com could just as easily be done on Trello or Asana in my opinion.

monday.com is a great solution!

2016-11-15

Our company switched from Asana to monday.com, and we've never looked back.

Pros

- The customization - The visual interface

Cons

While monday.com is great for keep track of overall projects, I miss Asana's ability to assign specific tasks and sub-tasks to individuals. For us, it sometimes is tricky to know who's responsible for what, and when it's due, particularly with projects that involve a lot of individual steps to keep track of.

A good project management tool but not flexible enough

2018-03-21

Pros

The features that Monday does well are great and being able to create a project list with custom fields (we had to upgrade further to use this functionality) and a timeline is very helpful. I found the tool easy enough to use and plan my team's projects.

Cons

2018-05-16

Pros

It was simple to setup and started out effective. I liked the timeline feature that was introduced and it was colorful enough that it was visually appealing. You can really customize it quite a bit and sometimes its easy to get carried away with all the new tabs you can add.

Cons

I eventually switched to asana as it was just so much faster.
