We started using Asana when we had just a handful of employees and clients. We needed something easy-to-use, but powerful, since we were using it as both a client support portal (think alternative to Zendesk or Basecamp), but also for our project and task management software. Clients submitted bugs and requests. We prioritized and assigned to developers. 

Fantastic, non-visual project/task manager

Our process has changed a lot over the past 3 years as a startup. Targetprocess has handled literally everything we've thrown at it. I hear other talking about how they wanted to do a unique process in one part of their workflow, but couldn't because of the limitations of their system. That is not the world I live in. Targetprocess is built for customizability.

Asana is great for task collaboration, but it falls short on visualization, particularly with Kanban and Scrum boards. Targetprocess is built for this very purpose.

If you're looking for a project/portfolio management software, particularly if you run Kanban or any flavor of Agile, you owe it to yourself to spend some time in this product. Not long ago, we looked around again at other options for cheaper. Nothing solved the problems with the same flexibility, customizability and UX as Targetprocess.

Pros: We have 4 cross-functional teams working with 4 separate processes. That has been a cinch to handle with Targetprocess. Everything from complex reporting and data insights to very custom workflows and notifications have been possible with their tools. You can even add your own mashups to extend the functionality.

Cons: We used Asana previously and task creation was almost as fast as typing a list of to-dos. Targetprocess is a bit slower than that for creating multiple tasks/stories, since they reside as cards instead of just list items. With so much customizability/flexibility, it can take some time to understand what the software can *really* do.

Smart UX, fantastic customizability

When i started working in UXPin as a Project Manager, i saw that the tool we were using for task management was Asana. i had never ever had experience with that tool before. After using it for few days, it became obvious to me that the tool needed to be changed, because it lacked essential functionality for running and tracking a great development process.

After analysing quite a few tools on the market (Wrike, Teamwork, Assembla etc.) my choice landed on Targetprocess, and i have convinced the company to switch. 

For me as a PM, the tool had everything that i wished for and the learning curve for me was not soo steep, but for devs and other departments of the company it took quite some time to get familiar and understand the benefits. 


Therefore, my advise would be to simplify the UI/UX to decrease learning curve, which, i assume, would drive more revenue.

This has been a great management tool for our company, the integration of comms has been great and has allowed us to cut down on mails as  which has been amazing.

Portfolios are great for keeping an eye on multiple projects. Having the ability to add tasks to multiple projects is a big plus and very helpful so that tasks can be seen from various perspectives.

Sometimes tickets get lost or buried but I feel that this comes down to user error and workload management and is not so much a fault of ht software or design.

This software program is great for our smaller team and cost effective as well. We are able to manage team projects and I like that we can set it up for recurring monthly projects.
