Dropbox helps us manage files more efficiently

2018-08-03

Better than Google Doc but pricey

Pros

Dropbox has excellent integration with Microsoft office due to a partnership with Microsoft. This enables users to use their favorite applications such as Word/Excel with Dropbox. Dropbox is also known to have excellent synchronization across devices. Some other enterprise document solutions have issues when multiple devices are set up together. Dropbox is known to be very stable

Cons

What I least like about it is that it is costly a month for as much space as your team needs. Dropbox offers two plans. First is pro or individual plan, gets 1 TB of storage. The second plan business is for the team having unlimited storage.

Good, but not different from other document sharing Apps

2018-08-09

Drop box is great, but I generally use Google Docs for the same things.

Pros

Easy to use. It's helpful that individual you are sharing documents with are not required to have an account with dropbox to access the information.

Cons

I don't like having to add the drop box plugins to my computer.

Dropbox, a New Way to Save Documents

2019-01-04

Much better than using Google Docs or saving onto the Google Drive.

Pros

The great thing about Dropbox Business is the document sharing. It is also really convenient to have access to your documents anywhere because of the cloud feature. Even being able to pull it up on my iPhone was really nice. I could pull presentations up and plug in my iPhone and it made it easier than lugging around a laptop.

Cons

Can be difficult to set up and figure out.

Not a huge fan

2018-10-22

I prefer Google Docs because of my not so great experience.

Pros

I like the security of having all of my documents in one place and being able to share only certain documents or folders with people.

Cons

I found it very difficult to add Dropbox to my computer - my computer wouldn’t recognize me as a user on Dropbox and would only let me add the free version’s amount of storage to my desktop.

Dropbox was very easy to add documents as well as add collaborators. It was easy to invite colleagues to view certain documents. We used it daily over 100s of properties.

Collaborate your files from anywhere

2019-01-09

Used it for several years in our church office. It's a low cost option that is low maintenance. A great alternative to hosting your own server.

Pros

Its simple. All my files, any file type, available anywhere. Multiple people can work on the same document.

Cons

I wish they had a feature like google docs where you could live edit and collaborate.

I have used it as an organizer and job flow system and I like the ease of use. I have it on my desk top phone and laptop. It works well for overall filing.

Pros

Works well for MAC systems and is easy to keep on desktop in finder. Files are easily built and easy to load documents.

Cons

File-storing in the cloud

2018-10-10

Pros

Device synchronization (going down even block-level synchronization) is a lovely feature and a same applies to Shared Folders. You can have even file-versioning, and files can be stored up to 20 GB. Security is also granted by AES-256.

Only file management not the content!

2016-04-25

Pros

But when it comes to managing content, it does not have that feature. Google docs works better than dropbox as google docs comes with inbuilt file management like dropbox but it also provides a great way of managing content.

Cons

Content management features needs to be included in dropbox. It would be nice if one can create a document and keep it in dropbox.

Fabulous and Very Handy

2019-01-08

I use this program more than any other (google docs, one drive, microsoft 365 sharepoint).

Pros

It's everywhere I go! On my phone, on my desktop, on my iPad. It's even on my clients home computer when I'm making sales calls and need to access it.

Cons

I love the program but my information is not as "protected" as it should be. If I don't sign out of the app, anyone that can access my devices, can access the files I keep on it.

Great tool for sharing files!

2018-11-27

I think overall is a great tool, but a little bit expensive. Today you can get email accounts with a file share system.

Pros

Dropbox has been the gold standard for sharing files between individuals and businesses. The system is very easy to use and you can open a free account with 2Gb of space. It is easy the install and setup.

Cons

It is call "Paper" and honestly I think it is a way to imitate Google Docs.

It's a great tool in synchronizing your local files to the cloud.

2018-05-05

Pros

What I love about the Dropbox is that whatever changes you make to your local files are automatically sync with your cloud files. It allows me to access those files even if I'm not using my personal computer. This feature is very helpful specially for online freelancers like me where I work in internet cafes at times when I don't bring my laptop with me. I love their referral program too where it gives you free 500MB storage for every person you have referred.

Cons

I guess they should create an online editor too like Google Suites where you can edit files using Google docs, sheets, slides and others.

Seamless mobile integration and seemingly endless storage and collaboration functionality

2019-02-13

We have been very please and it is affordable for an organization our size.

Pros

We like how integrated it is with our daily mobile device experiences. It allows me to access important and confidential files safely and securely from my mobile device. It also allows me to share across our team and externally seamlessly.

Cons

It is challenging to have live document collaboration similar to Google Docs. However, for stable and constant documents it is instrumental to our small business.

Your documents anywhere, anytime

2018-12-13

I use Google Docs for personal things, such as storing documents I know I'm gonna need or creating spreadsheets to keep track of different things (finances, projects)

Pros

I love the fact that everything is saved in their servers. I can access my documents and spreadsheets from anywhere in the world, using any device I might have (computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet). Google docs also lets you use many useful customization features and lets you not only create text documents, but spreadsheets and graphs too. The servers are virtually never down and the internet speed that is required to view your files is minimal

Cons

If you have a file on some other cloud storage platform, such as dropbox, you can't share it to your google docs storage.

Google Docs Make Client Approvals Quicker

2017-12-16

I'm working on getting used to organizing my Google docs in Google Drive (I'm a Dropbox user of many years) but I'm sure it won't be too painful!

Pros

Our company recently switched to using google docs/spreadsheets over word docs and excel files to send over to clients. It makes it very easy to share with them and also have them make edits to copy or plans. This has allowed quicker approvals on content, which is always appreciated in the fast-moving agency world.

Google docs - King of the online storage

2019-01-23

Overall, I find it superior to other cloud based storage sits like Dropbox. I have a 1TB account which is fairly reasonable price per month.

Pros

I like the ease of use for uploading files that I share with friends and family. We also use google docs for sharing documents in my team at work. It's nice to have instant access to files and that they can be edited by anyone in the team and are always the most up to date.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to locate documents. A folder tree structure might be useful.

I prefer a file sharing service like Dropbox for people I work with everyday.

Pros

In many ways it styled like MS Office so I was able to use it instantly without a lot of upfront learning. Saving files is similar to a Windows setup so once again I felt at home.

Pros

I like google docs because it let's you edit documents with your team, and have everyone (literally) on the same page. It also has a seamless app that works alongside the web version. So you can work both on the go, and in the office.

Cons

Contrasted with something leaner like dropbox paper, there is little extensibility which makes it simpler.

Almost perfect documenting software

2018-10-19

De facto documenting software for me. Annotations, shortcuts, cross google suits product integrations etc makes it the most versatile documenting tool

Pros

- It is hard to imagine but I have not created any local document on my personal computer in ages. - All of my project documents and personal documents are Google Docs - Especially in a work environment, it makes collaboration so much easier.

Cons

- If you compare the UX with the likes of Dropbox, Google Docs is marginally behind.

Good but not Great

2018-04-02

Pros

I like that Google docs is free, of course...It is also nice that it syncs with your google account seamlessly, so if you are logged in to your google account, there is no need to log in to google docs.

Cons

The interface is not as clean as other document cloud software, like box or dropbox..it is not as easy to use.

Great collaboration tool

2018-05-06

Pros

We have multiple people edit the same document - some on computers and some on mobile devices. Google as always is very simple and efficient. Great GUI and intuitive workflow

Cons

For business I prefer to use options like Dropbox business with a better more secure solution for a corporate setting.

Perfect for working remotely

2019-04-15

Pros

It's ideal to have all eyes on a document while being in different locations and it also avoids the annoyance of not having the correct copy of a particular document like Dropbox.

Cons

Limited functionality in google docs doesn't allow you to manipulate your content like on Word.

Google Docs is the most ideal way to collaborate on word or excel like documents

2018-08-21

While we ended up on Dropbox, we did it out of simplicity.

Pros

It accomplishes the same thing as a Dropbox without having the conflicted copy of the documented being created when one or more employees are editting.

Cons

Some users are still not up to speed on "cloud" or web based applications. Hard to get team members to adopt.

Google Docs

2018-09-25

Pros

Compared to DropBox, I find the interface and fluidity a lot easier to use.

Cons

I find Google Docs to be easier to use on a mobile device then I do on a PC. The functionality just seems clunky.

Basic but accessible everywhere

2019-02-01

Basic but easy to use.

Pros

I like that, as with other Google products, it is accessible on all my devices, easily and everywhere. I don't need to worry about conflicted copies. While it's a basic word processor it is more than sufficient for most reports, etc. It's easy to share documents with others.

Cons

This is a bit of an annoyance and leads me to lean more heavily on Dropbox for some documents.

Google Doc's Personally/Professionally

2019-02-22

When sharing between multiple users and devices this is easier than some items such as Box, Dropbox and equivalent apps/software, specifically ability for the use of versioning.

Pros

Value and overall ease of use, even if uploading documents created in word from my former primary office suite isn't as straight forward.

Cons

Changes made in the UI, if you are fairly new to Google Doc's. Doing a google search for the answer on how to do what you want the instructions haven't always been up to date even when using Googles instructions.
