Pros

I like the ease of use that this software provides. Let's you have many capabilities and you can do backups whenever you like which is a nice feature.

KW

It's been really great, it easy to use that's something I can brag about for sure, the storage as well on free trial is really impressive cause that was what made me like it more.

PA

Precious A.

Its super easy to store files in the cloud and share it with coworkers and nice that you also can use it for free.

ME

Melody E.

Pros

As good or better than any other wordprocessing software. The bonus is that it seamlessly integrates with other google software.

Kerry W.

Some of the most prominent features of this app are. It's powerful and has a very elegant and simple user interface.

I love how easy it is to use and how file sharing is super integrated. The quality for the cost of the product is super.

LT

Logan T.

Cons

It has some integration that sometimes provides warnings through Excel, but other file types are completely at risk of having conflicting copies.

JM

Jeanne M.

To have the file uploaded in the background with limited speeds irrespective of the download or upload speed is something that has irritated me.

AR

Anonymous Reviewer

The group and user policy is alittle bit weird to understand and alittle bit confusing. I had to redo the whole access policy twice because it was not working as i wanted.

Aviram G.

Cons

Some options are missing from it, but that is to be expected from a web-based app. The only thing I dislike is how hard it is to open the documents generated in Google Docs through other software.

BT

Boris T.

The icons are small and it's easy to accidentally press the wrong button or hit the wrong combination of keystrokes and change the menu into tiny icons with no explanations.

SA

Sarah A.

Small but still annoying missing features - for example, the live word counter stops showing the word count at 20,000 characters for absolutely no reason.

Dropbox, a New Way to Save Documents

Reviewed 3 years ago

Much better than using Google Docs or saving onto the Google Drive.

Pros

The great thing about Dropbox Business is the document sharing. It is also really convenient to have access to your documents anywhere because of the cloud feature. Even being able to pull it up on my iPhone was really nice. I could pull presentations up and plug in my iPhone and it made it easier than lugging around a laptop.

Cons

Can be difficult to set up and figure out.

Great for it's time, since outdated.

Reviewed 2 years ago

Dropbox was a very useful tool for a time, but without integrated features, has mainly fallen out of use for my company. When you are working with different department heads with various computer experience, keeping as many tools in one operating system is critical. While Dropbox was very easy to use, the fact that we didn't use it for anything other than file sharing meant we quickly phased it out for Google Drive.

Pros

We chose this software as a backup for our company's shared drive, so if we were running updates on our main system we still had access across departments. It was very simple to train staff of all technical levels how to efficiently use this program.

Cons

Dropbox quite simply was overshadowed by Google Docs for our company. When a product is just as easy or almost as easy (Google Docs) to use, that you are more familiar with (because of email/searches), there was little reason to continue to use Dropbox.

Always backed up and easily working with Teams

Reviewed 8 months ago

We are able to share small but vital documents across all producers in our team.

Pros

I love how I can choose to sync only the documents I immediately need. Allows me to be efficient with the storage space on my laptop while still seeing TB upon TB of data be moved and shared.

Cons

I wish they had better collaboration on documents like Google docs. Submission folders are a little clunky but useful too.

Helpful Collaborative Team Filing Tool

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, we've been happy as we can organize and share our content. Editing features could be better but it does work with Google Docs well.

Pros

In the past, our remote team each kept files on our own computers with backup on an external hard drive. We decided a couple of years ago that we needed to have a shared place to keep our files to ensure they are safe and are available to everyone. Also, we link the Dropbox links to our communications so we are editing files within the system so we don't have to pull them down and to keep the edits all in one place. Works seamlessly with Google Docs for editing.

Cons

We also employed DB to save space on our individual computers. While this is the case because I don't sync all of our folders to my computer, the files I do sync does take up quite a bit of space on my computer. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. We don't like the editing feature so we use Google Docs.

It's a great tool in synchronizing your local files to the cloud.

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

What I love about the Dropbox is that whatever changes you make to your local files are automatically sync with your cloud files. It allows me to access those files even if I'm not using my personal computer. This feature is very helpful specially for online freelancers like me where I work in internet cafes at times when I don't bring my laptop with me. I love their referral program too where it gives you free 500MB storage for every person you have referred.

Cons

I guess they should create an online editor too like Google Suites where you can edit files using Google docs, sheets, slides and others.

Seamless mobile integration and seemingly endless storage and collaboration functionality

Reviewed 3 years ago

We have been very please and it is affordable for an organization our size.

Pros

We like how integrated it is with our daily mobile device experiences. It allows me to access important and confidential files safely and securely from my mobile device. It also allows me to share across our team and externally seamlessly.

Cons

It is challenging to have live document collaboration similar to Google Docs. However, for stable and constant documents it is instrumental to our small business.

Fabulous and Very Handy

Reviewed 3 years ago

I use this program more than any other (google docs, one drive, microsoft 365 sharepoint). The ease of signing in and accessing what I need makes in invaluable.

Pros

It's everywhere I go! On my phone, on my desktop, on my iPad. It's even on my clients home computer when I'm making sales calls and need to access it.

Cons

I love the program but my information is not as "protected" as it should be. If I don't sign out of the app, anyone that can access my devices, can access the files I keep on it.

Dropbox is a terrific tool for safe data storage, sharing files quickly, and collaborating

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

The software is so easy to use and really helps with sharing large data sets, especially in healthcare with patient confidentiality in mind. Smart sync help in clearing your local hard drive.

Decent Cloud Storage

Reviewed 8 months ago

Over we had a good experience with Dropbox thought the constant download then upload of files got old after a while and had us looking at Google Docs for live time edits.

Pros

The ability to access files from anywhere is helpful when working with a remote team. They make it easy to organize the files and download them as needed when on the go.

Cons

Connecting the offline function where it downloads all your files directly to the computer and then syncs them when it can, really takes up storage space and bogs your computer down if you have a large amount of data to work with.

Perfect for File Sharing (If Not Shared Editing Live)

Reviewed a year ago

Dropbox Business is great for storing and sharing documents. It's easy to use, and the desktop app makes it easy to access even offline.

Pros

Our team can share unlimited documents easily. I can access shared files easily through the desktop app and my updates are reflected immediately for my team to see. It's great being able to choose which files/folders you want to sync at any given time depending on which projects you're working on.

Cons

Our team can't do shared editing in a document simultaneously like we could in a Google Doc, so we'll sometimes work on a collaborative document together in Google Doc and then one of us has to copy/paste it into a Pages document and save that to Dropbox so that it's saved with the rest of the project. I have not enjoyed the mobile app and now only access Dropbox on my computer.

Works just as needed, good integrations with GSuite and Office

Reviewed 8 months ago

I switched from a company that used Google Drive (which I also use for my personal files), to one that used Dropbox. In general, I feel that the Google Drive ecosystem is best.

Pros

I really appreciate the integrations with the GSuite and Office Web, as users are able to create/edit documents on Google Docs or Word/PPT/Excel Online directly on Dropbox.

Cons

The file settings and folder organization system felt a bit clunky and less intuitive at times, when compared to Google Drive.

Overall it works how it is suppose to. Other than the glitches when I have to close everything and restart my computer it does what it says it should.

Pros

Dropbox Business is a Solid Choice for Filing Sharing

Overall, I am very happy with Dropbox. It helps me keep files organized and makes sure I never lose progress. That being said, the search and real-time collaboration features could use some improvement.

Pros

Cons

does the job

Reviewed 3 years ago

After trying Dropbox, I prefer Google docs or Google Drive because of the greater server space. It's a bummer to get used to using the service and then realizing you have to transfer everything out because you've exceeded capacity.

Pros

dropbox works as a shared server, much like google drive or any organizational internal network. Up to a certain amount of storage space is free. It's easy to access and has integration with gmail. Intuitive set-up

Cons

The biggest challenge for our office was customer service; when there was issues with Dropbox our entire work flow shut down. We eventually decided to move away from Dropbox, and it was quite a laborious process to get everything transferred over. Careful management is required to prevent old files from building up and occupying all the server space.

I use Dropbox for Business on two different teams and tend to use the program daily. It's great for sharing large files and quick uploads and downloads. I use it all the time when on the go since its mobile app is easy to use. Highly recommend for team file sharing.

Pros

I love how seamlessly team members can view and edit files without interfering with one another (a notification will pop up saying "[User] is in this file." Prevents a lot of confusion when file-sharing.

Cons

Similarly with Google Docs, tracking the changes leaves a bit to be desired. Also sometimes my coworkers will accidentally create duplicate copies of things without meaning to, so it feels like a programming/ease-of-access thing somewhere.

Dropbox Business is an essential tool for my work of organizing conferences with my team. We love it.

Pros

I love the new smart sync feature where you can access all your files without needing to have them psychically on your hard drive.

Works adequately, but I prefer Google Docs

Pros

Dropbox is perfect for cloud storage in many ways. And from an enterprise standpoint, it has business-level security. It seamlessly can integrate into many other platforms, streamlining project management and productivity.

Increased productivity.

Pros

1. Using the account transfer tool, we can easily handover documents to a new user/employee when responsibilities change within the team. 2. Can integrate with third apps by enterprise mobility management providers for seamless communication and secure collaboration. 3. Provides remote wipe access to remove files in lost devices and secure data. 4. Team folder manager tool gives us the option to control and monitor the entire team activity in dropbox. 5. Accessible through PC, mobile and web browsers.

Cons

1. Free version provides only 2GB storage space which is very less. Paid versions are expensive. 2. There is no provision to add comments on the changes made by other users. 3. Does not allow multiple people to work on a file simultaneously unlike google docs.

Between Dropbox and Slack there is very little else you need for remote working

Reviewed 5 years ago

Probably the granddaddy of the SAAS industry at this point, but they are a staple service for a reason. In a world becoming more and more internet driven, where your work can take place anywhere you have an internet connection, file sharing is at the center of most things we do. Although there has been little innovation over the past few years, their core product file sharing/storage is rock solid. I've tried alternatives and have always came back for the consistent experience. Dropbox is also been doing cool things another product of theirs 'Dropbox Paper' -- This product has quickly replaced google docs for my needs.

Pros

Rock solid at doing what it does. Need it to work and be reliable and this you can trust Dropbox to deliver on. The company also is developing a suite of apps to target it's customer base. So far Dropbox 'Paper' has been amazing and replaced Google docs for me.

Cons

Although it's rock solid, we've not seen much innovation in the past few years. I'm content but perhaps not wowed by the product.

My overall experience was great! Fast syncing with large files, and you get great value for amount of storage space.

Pros

In my previous job role, Dropbox Business really made our lives easier. Aside from having in-house staff we also worked with many remote team members and Dropbox business really helped us keep everything synced between teams in real-time! We used a lot of heavy design files like Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop files and Dropbox provided fast file syncing for large files.

Cons

Compared to Google and Microsoft, Dropbox doesn't have a native document editing suite like G Suite or MS Office online, so one could be persuaded to choose G Suite for example because it allows you to sync files through Google Drive and at the same time use Google Docs, etc.

Pros

A business subscription is inexpensive relative to other services. Using storage is easy. Files load quickly. In general, the service is not bad. I use it for work and for personal projects. In order not to get confused, there I can divide folders into categories.

Cons

The document editor is inconvenient. It does not reach the level of MS Word and even more so does not reach the level of Google Docs. The developers also removed the ability to create direct links to images, so it became more difficult to implement these images on the site.

Great Way to Organize Your Files

I love this software because its just like the Windows Filing system that is on your computer. Everything is at your finger tips but stored on the cloud in case a file goes missing. This is a great way to keep all of your files organized and accessible for all team member. You can edit permissions so certain people can only view certain files.

Cons

I would like to be able to edit a file that someone else is working on like Google Sheets/Doc
