Google Docs is just as good

2018-09-10

I used it because a client did and it was great but I still think Google Docs. is a better alternative.

Pros

The way the UI is designed its really easy to navigate and use. It actually resembles a notebook in a way and feels like how you would take notes and organize notes in a notebook. There are some nice features with the premium feature and you can access and sync your notes from anywhere.

Cons

The free version has limitations that you could just go to Google Docs for and get all the same features and functionality and then some.

Sharing Files

2019-03-24

I prefer using Google Docs.

Pros

I like that you are able to easily search for notes. It pulls all of the notes that contain the word searched for.

Cons

Oftentimes that page won't save. I work in an office where multiple people need pages at the same time and this is always a problem. When someone adds something it gets over written on accident.

Great piece of software

2018-04-05

Pros

Evernote is awesome! At first I didn't understand why it was necessary. I used to just email myself notes. Once I couldn't find a document, I realized why it was great. Evernote keeps everything organized and out of my inbox

Cons

It's sometimes irritating just having another program to use outside of email, google docs, word docs, etc.

Awesome software for group collaboration!

2019-03-06

I used it to collaborate with my colleges, but we also used google docs. Evernote offers some wonderful features that are BETTER than google, but eventually, Evernote just phased out and we found ourselves using google docs all the time.

Pros

Easy to use and collaborate on. I love how it communicates for you to those collaborating on the same document!

Cons

It doesn't streamline into my life like google does. Google docs does most of what evernote does, but it syncs with my android phone, my email, my navigation, my news feed, etc...

Occupies a niche space between Google docs and Apple notes

2018-12-05

Pros

Evernote Business brings together diverse pieces of content and makes it easy to share everything.

Cons

Where free alternatives like Google docs and Apple notes already exist, it's hard to justify paying for Evernote Business.

Evernote is okay... but others do it better

2018-11-28

It was great when we had remote workers before Basecamp improved or google docs became ubiquitous.

Pros

The ability to organize by notebook, use tags, and access your notebooks across different devices or computers.

Cons

I've been using Evernote for years (at least 6 years) and I feel like it has not changed at all. With cloud storage and synching greatly improved, I get the impression Evernote has fallen behind. I just don't see a function for it anymore and have (not even intentionally) stopped using it all together.

OK For Tracking Individual Research...But Not So Good for Groups

2016-09-01

Pros

It works across multiple platforms (Windows via Browser, app). Allows me to sort and keep personal research.

Easy to use app for project management and team oriented documents

2018-04-16

My team was able to communicate and complete projects in a timely manner. It's great for sharing notes to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Pros

I like that my documents update in real time with those that are contributing to the same document.

Cons

Unlike competitors like google docs, everyone working on the same document can't update it simultaneously, which can really slow down the process of completing a project.

Evernote has been a huge asset for my note taking abilities!

2018-04-04

Pros

I love that Evernote allows me to take notes in a way that makes sense and works for me. The different notebooks helps to organize and apply everything I write down!

Easy to use, very useful tool

2018-07-26

Pros

Easy to use, captures anything, great tools to keep notes and data including capture of emails with attachments.

Nice if it was easier to compose in Evernote and send directly in email or send to word or google doc. The cut and paste is a little tedious.

Pros

Love how items live in the cloud and can be accessed from anywhere. It is one of the biggest benefits of using the service, and the app is wonderful.

Digital Filing System for the Paperless Office

2016-10-19

I have been using Evernote for 2+ years now. As a digital filing system, it's very reliable and easy to use. I scan all my correspondence including bills, contracts, receipts, invoices, and more straight into Evernote and shred the originals.

Pros

Integration of PDFs and Google docs works well.

Cons

Didn't find it very practical to use beyond storing and managing documents. The user interface is a bit outdated and unimaginative. Development progress appears to be slow and the lack of any kind of roadmap or strategy for the product is worrying.

Centralized information for projects

Pros

You are able to centralize almost all your notes in regardless of what format in this app. Intuitive and easy to manage. It can also be installed in the phone. Notes can be shared across teams.

Cons

The format is not matching 100% sometimes with MS apps / Google docs. Sometimes it gets a different format, although is just a matter of reformatting again.

Pros

I found Evernote an easy way to organize and share my documents with colleagues. I had a nice, clean interface too.

Evernote is my go to place for all my important info I want to save.

2018-11-05

I have tried google docs, wunderlist, one note and I keep coming back to evernote because of its simple intuitive functional interface.

Pros

simple and intuitive. Evernote never stops updating and improving the product. Very reliable, I've never lost anything I've saved here!

Cons

Fantastic Note Taking Software Solution

2018-12-05

I could not function at the same level without it and it works much better for me than many other large cloud based systems like Google Docs, Microsoft, etc.

Pros

As a highly scatterbrained individual who thrives off of structure Evernote checks off multiple boxes for me. It gives me a platform for creatively structuring my thoughts, allows me to connect many areas that make sense to me and functions as a tool for collaboration for work projects.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about using Evernote, it works perfectly for my needs.

Perfect tool for personal note management

2018-08-31

Pros

I've been using Evernote since way back when they first got started, it's a very useful tool for managing notes in terms of personal project management. Great cross device functionality.

Cons

I used Evernote for my personal note management until I came into a very efficient G Suite company that used Google Docs for everything which I think the only downside I see with the solution: When it comes to collaboration it becomes a bit of a segregated tool.

place for your notes

2018-02-15

Pros

What I like best with Evernote is the easy method to make notes, spare them and compose meeting notes. This last one has spared my ordinary occupation since every one of my notes from our group gatherings are at a similar place. Evernote synchronizes with my plan and exchange every one of the informations about the gathering specifically in the note I make.

Cons

In the event that this would be conceivable, it would perhaps outmatch Google Docs.

Much better than MS Word, and it's free!

2018-12-02

Google docs has replaced evernote, ms word and pretty much any other software that we used in the past to document information.

Pros

The ease of use makes this product a must. It's very easy to add comments, change formatting, do a word count, etc. without being boggled down in a mess of sub-menus like those of MS Word. The ability to set viewing/editing permissions is so easy and convenient. And it's free.

Cons

I write a lot of content, and MS Word was my go-to software for that years ago. The menus and functions of Google Docs can be a bit hard to get used to for beginners. Some tutorials could be needed to fully grasp the product.

Google Docs is a great online alternative to Word

2018-08-16

I prefer Google Docs over Evernote because it is easier to use and has less steps to take when creating or editing a document.

Pros

It's ease of use. It's almost exactly the same as MS Word, which meant no learning curve when I switched over.

Cons

Most recommended word tool

2018-03-26

Pros

- simultaneous editing. I love to take notes at events, in meetings, etc. And so do some of the others that I collaborate with so we keep on top of all the things that come up. When we're typing we all open the same document on our laptops, and take notes at the same time. One person is designated to spellcheck so the rest of us don't waste time correcting. Another person corrects any context issues if I or another missed being accurate to the point we noted or felt it needed more details. It's like having multiple brains at once - easy to share, track, etc - hands down the word app I use for everything

Cons

- sometimes formatting isn't the best and it takes a bit of effort to figure out what went wrong - I wish it was integrated with a software version as well so that it could work offline the same as I do with Word (which I try to avoid using) - when copying over text from Evernote the formatting doesn't work well, even when I paste with plain text it can have some strange issues

Thankful for Google Docs

2018-11-28

I use Google Docs to create proposals for my clients and share documents with my clients. Since most of my clients have Google accounts, this process is almost seamless. We can quickly work through the documents using the comments feature and edit it together. Saved me tons of time and money!

Pros

Since it was free, it was my preferred alternative compared to paid solutions which were popular at the time (e.g. Evernote). I've since left school and continue to power my business with Google Docs.

Cons

I can't really find one thing I don't like about Google Docs! I truly enjoy my experience with it.
