I keep my personal work files in my Google Drive and mount them on my computer using CloudMounter. This allows the files to function as local hard drive files.
I like that Google Drive file storage is easily mountable onto a computer for easy access to files in the cloud.
There's not much I dislike about this software, however, I do prefer AWS' S3 cloud storage option, but that's more difficult to mount, although possible.

I have had no problems with it but unfortunately I am not able to use it for work since we use amazon tablets.
Google features all in one place is nice so you do not have to look in multiple places as well as being able to share between people.
Not compatible with fire tablet. Unless you use all the features of google it really does not seem necessary.

Trusted on-the-go cloud storage, that works everywhere, no matter what computer (or phone) I'm working from.
Being a gmail and google docs user, Google Drive is embedded in my daily routine. No matter where I'm working, or on what machine (regardless of operating system), I have access to all of my files and data. No longer do I have to head home on lunch to get that presentation, its all built and hosted in Google Drive
Google Drive used to behave like AWS S3 used to, which made it even capable of hosting websites! they have since removed this functionality. Its still a very powerful tool, but the web hosting functionality is dearly missed.

Great place to store app installers for cross platform use. Can't find an app on Amazon? Google it download to drive and install from there.
There aren't any cons that I can think of at this moment. The storage capacity is fine for single users.

Great collaboration tool to reduce dependency on network drives, making files more accessible faster.
Implements well to the photo and on demand document storage needs of Iphone users.
The free version offers limited amounts of traditionally data hungry file types. Whereas some competition, such as Amazon, is offering more or some data types for free.

Great for sharing any files between multiple platforms, I use it to send files to my teachers or colleagues. It works like a charm.
Fast, secure and reliable. Never had an issue with Google's cloud service it works like a charm. I love the drag and drop features that they provide, the ease to organize and share files is just amazing. Never thought of having an alternative since I feel like I'm using at the moment the best cloud service that *currently* a company can provide. It provides great synchronization between multiple devices running different operating systems.
To be honest, I like this Web app a lot so I have no concerns nor problems with this software. Perhaps they should try to make this app to be more usable on old devices, a friend of mine still has a Samsung S3 and the app works very slow on his phone.

Solid, I was an early adopter and have continued to use it diligently. I'd stay away from building solutions which use it as a backend though.
Google drive was a game-changer for how cheap and reliable document storage and collaboration can be! It still is a strong aspect of the product, alongside the document editing/management capabilities which have eliminated the need to pay for Microsoft Office products.
Strictly for use cases I have developed and architectured atop the Google Drive ecosystem, I have always felt the API layer is the weakest for this offering and have encountered performance issues on several occasions, far more than what I have experienced with other SAAS/PAAS storage services from AWS (S3), Azure, etc.

I like how Google Drive seamlessly syncs to my phone and multiple computers. Shared folder sync to my coworker's computers as well. Extending your storage is a simple and affordable option.
No real downside, though Amazon storage is a fraction less expensive. The bulk of my free storage is used up by files from Gmail. It would be ideal if this wasn't counted towards my G-drive storage.

Its free!! Not many storage systems are free. and its linked to my gmail account so it is very easy to access and search for my files when I need them.
I dislike the fact that I can't put any confidential files there becasue of Google's privacy policy. I work for Amazon and we are not allowed to place any of our files on google drive for that reason.

If you need a cloud storage solution, Google Drive is the best. Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon (to name a few) all have solid offerings, but they can’t hold a candle to the ease of use and integration options of using Google Drive.
It’s so easy to store you files and access them from anywhere - phone, pc, Mac, tablet, or...well...just about any device that has a web browser. It’s also easy to search for documents - especially using their website. In fact, accessing things from the website is almost the easiest way to interface with your documents. If you need something that is more instant, you can back up your files on your PC or Mac and have instant access to some or all of our documents. And, if you make changes, the changes are auto saved and uploaded to your google rive. It’s that easy!
The app versions of Google Drive appear like the web version, but don’t work quite as well. I wish they could update the code to match the web version. Something about the apps never appears to work quite as well. Even on my IPad Pro, I tend to favor using the website vs. the app. It’s just easier and, well, just “works”.

It seems that the presence of Drive increases over the years. Features keep growing, as well as the importance of backing things up to the cloud. It is nice to have an additional remote storage system to Apple, and I trust Google more than Amazon.
Ease and availability of platform; ubiquitous gmail presence allows for easy sharing accessibility between just about anyone
Additional organization options that can divide by file type and breakdown between upload time, type, category

Nowadays Google Drive is part of day to day life due to its easy sync with our smartphone easy cloud storage solution. As there are many Google related services are associated and can easily save or track via Google drive. So its really helping us one way or another. Also, I can get everything in a single platform without keeping different essentials..
1. Material design, Super fast sync and uploading file to the cloud. 2. Easy to use and get the best with Chrome browser. 3. Android or PC, amazing privacy, security features and many more including latest update and features 4. Pretty cheap rather that Amazon and Microsoft cloud storage solutions.
1. It can Crash without any notification. It's really annoying 2. If you are a poor internet connection, you might have to face multiple bugs and issues 3. Not good with Firefox, EDGE and other available browsers. 4. Downloading speed is too poor sometimes but uploading speed is great!

Drive is a fantastic software which has enabled me to be more flexible when i'm working at home or the office. I can always work on a variety of devices without having to worry about carrying my data in a usb stick or sending emails of my documents to myself. Its large storage ability makes it easy for my to store my pictures, videos, files, and back app data so it can be accessed at anytime.
I love google drives seamless integration into any operating system. I can open my drive from my desktop, laptop, mobile devices and access my data anytime I desire. It has an easy to use interface which can be utilized by any age group.
I feel this software can improve in move bulk data from different could storage platforms such as amazon, or other file vaults. The transfer rate seems to be slow when moving large amounts of data, however the ability to run processes in the background does seem be helpful in curbing that experience.

I love google drive, it allows me to access my files from so many different computers, making work as flexible as can be.
Google drive provides SOOOO much free space to store audio files, work files, so many different kinds. There a lot of functionality between sharing the files with other people. I love google drive, I've had too many external drives break on me, and this is definitely the solution.
There are a lot of cloud storage sites as offshoots of programs I use, Apple, Amazon, Excel, and Google. I wish I only had one. It's bound to get confusing when trying to take advantage of all the free space. I wish I didn't need to pay subscriptions to some, I know I'm wasting my money somewhere.

Excellent service, of course, it has drawbacks (limitation on a free account of 15 GB, difficulties with sorting data folders), yet it is the best cloud service for storing data.
For 5 years I tried all the popular repositories, including Amazon and Microsoft products, I did not completely refuse them, but most of all I liked Google Drive. Its main feature is that the service allows you to work with a variety of documents online. To do this, you can create a text document, table and presentation directly in the repository.
I really miss Push notifications while working on documents. Alerts come to my mail late in a few hours. It is impossible to respond to colleagues promptly.

The ability to access my important files from anywhere in the world, and on any device.
I would say the biggest pro that google drive has is its presence and accessibility on every single platform. Its competition from apple, amazon, and Microsoft all cater to their own hardware, but leave everything else feeling clunky. This means that with drive, when you need your files they will be available, no matter where you are or what device you are using. This means everything for user experience and reliability.
The pricing plans and tiers seem a little outrageous at times and I would love to see the ability to share a drive with one or more accounts easily.

I have had very minimal problems with Google Drive . When I was researching the best cloud storage, I had it narrowed between Google and Amazon. I decided to go with Google even though they were a little more expensive because I liked some of their features more. When they changed over to Google One, they double my storage from 1TB to 2TB at no extra charge. Very happy I went the Google route.
Everything!! I use this software daily for multiple purposes. Not only do I use it for my personal picture/video storage, but I also coach three soccer teams and create folders I can share with the parents to access pictures of games or important documents that they need. Add in the fact that I can access the content from anywhere, and I am a very happy person.
The only problem I have come across, which has happened several different times, is that the permissions to a shared folder breaks? I have shared a folder with someone, but then a week or two later, I have to re-share it because they no longer have access? It has only happened a few times, but not sure the root cause.

When I am traveling in other countries, take photos from my phone and upload directly to my Google drive! I even have my resume and vcard there in case I need it on the fly! I also have Amazon Prime, which comes with an unlimited space drive, but the app isn't as friendly as Google.

My overall experience with google drive is very good. I personally feels that its once of the awesome SaaS product available in market. Even thought it has limitation of 15 GB we can use it in efficient way. As it is a cross platform product its easy to share data between mobile and desktop device. I will recommend people to use this product for their personal use.
Very easy to access. Its a cross platform product. Upload is very quick. Data can be shared with others with one click. Storage can be increased. Any type of documents cab be stored. They don't alter any data stored. Interface is very easy to understand. UI is awesome. We don't need multiple accounts to access it. Very mobile friendly.
Only 15 GB of space is available in free version. In day today life 15 GB is very less for storage. If we exceed storage limit then we have to buy additional space which is bit expensive as compared to Yahoo and amazon. Its storage is shared with G-mail so if you are a person who deals with quotation and supply work then your storage can be filled quickly as they receive a lot of .pdf and .xls files.

I have found it extremely useful for storing training certifications, continuing professional education, work schedules, proprietary work documents, and other personal items to enhance my organization and provide me with more comfort knowing my files are secure and not laying around unencrypted or worrying about storing hard copy files in my house, etc.
The initial free space (15GB) and how easy it was to get started with file storage. Google is very forefront with the protection mechanisms in place with Drive (SSL encryption - same as gMail). Google, being known for its search capabilities, is no different with Drive, as it is very simple to search among file names for those that are not storing things in clearly marked folders or for those that simply prefer to search keywords. The iPhone app (cannot speak for Android) is exceptional and makes accessing files on the go extremely simple - this is one of my favorite features.
It does not seem to be as widely adopted yet, although it's integration with gMail and other office applications, many individuals still seem to use Box or Dropbox, etc. when it comes to sharing or storing files (even Amazon storage is becoming popular) so sometimes it is tough when trying to share or getting user adoption. However, for an individual storing files, receipt, warranties, business documents, etc. - the files are safe and access is controlled which is the most important thing in my opinion.

Amazon S3 solved our storage needs. Prior, the company was storing everything on their own servers. If the site went down, so did our files. Amazon's reliability is why we use the S3.
Amazon S3 is like Dropbox/Google Drive, but on Amazon's cloud server. That means, it's fast with a 99.9% uptime. All of our public-facing course material is secured on Amazon S3, and I don't have to worry about the server being down.
There's a learning curve. It's kind of ugly - I'm not expecting someone to use it right out of the box. There's lots of options to choose from, and you could accidentally expose all of your sensitive data if you didn't set it up correctly.

Good for using in software products, bad for simple day to day storage.
It is very inexpensive and reliable. It's an amazon product, you know it'll work as expected.
It is almost impossible to know how much you'll pay with AWS pricing system. Using it as an alternative to Google drive or other user-friendly storage solutions is highly discouraged, as it is overly complicated for non-ITs (almost as if they did that on purpose). You don't have support unless you pay for it.

Our visitors upload their requirements on our website. That file goes to S3 bucket. The script converts the document and tokenizes them. It is displayed directly to our dashboard. Then we analyze that and upload to the dashboard.
Our major online reports are downloaded through S3 Bucket. It helps to keep the uploads and downloads automatically to directories. Most of the backend of our online physical files are from S3 bucket.
You cannot sync S3 buckets to your physical hard drive. You always have to access S3 dashboard online in a web browser.

This is a top solution to manage large and small amounts of assets if you are a big company or enterprise, but not that favorable to small of medium ones.
But still, it doesn’t change the fact that Amazon S3 is not that easy to get started as compared to Google Cloud Storage. The cumbersome and clunky interface really keeps away from the avast amount of resources and features. And there is no Free Tier. 1+ for Google Cloud Storage

I'm starting to find Google Cloud Engine becoming more competitive on price which I like. As a consumer competition is great.
Amazon S3 is great, you can host servers, containers, and services all with granular control. The reliability of the services is also top notice, and speed to the hosts are very fast. Amazon is the company to best when it comes to hosting. Microsoft and Google are the other major players in this spaces. I've tried Google cloud engine which will start to meet Amazon level of service. Again this only shows Amazon is the leader, that everyone will try to match or beat.
Pricing on some some locations I find to be really high. I don't know the rent or electricity rate, I imagine all of that goes into the pricing.

Without Amazon S3 we would have lost massive amounts of historical data, so having Amazon S3 has been a massive win for us.
Amazon S3 has been a life saver for us recently. We have recently changed platforms that we use for all of our Marketing efforts and using Amazon S3 we were able to export data from our old platforms and store it there and then use it to ingest the data into our new platforms so that we still maintained historical data.
Sometimes it is a little tricky to get the data in/out, but with a quick Google search we are usually able to get everything figured out quickly.

Amazon S3 is a great value in my opinion. I use Good Sync to back up my files automatically to S3. I prefer this route to using Microsoft Cloud or Google Cloud, since I am in control of the whole process.
The interface is rather boring. Moreover, while the security is excellent, it is confusing too: are you a root user or regular user, what is your secret key, your password, etc. It's a bit much.

Great for uploads of pictures and data, you pay for what you use and your server can be free from space issues.
I was struggling because our site support pictures uploading and the drive was filling out, I heard of S3 and created a bucket, was able to easily setup the app to upload to S3, and I pre compressed the images on the server and then send them to S3, I dont have to worry anymore of space isssues on my server.
Could be easier to use, has a learning curve as a lot of AWS services. Lack of Image compression when uploading an image.
