A breath of Fresh Air

2019-04-14

I think that google is a great competitor for Microsoft and Icloud!

Pros

I love anything dealing with google! I have a gmail account and everything. Therefore, I love singing into my google drive and having the option to check on every account that I have in one place.

Cons

There are no cons about this product. Google even has it's on music now!

Easy cloud storage.

2018-07-03

It's like iCloud Drive, but Google.

Pros

The fact that you can honestly put whatever the heck you want up there. There's no restrictions on the files (other than copyright violations, blah blah)

Cons

I once had to download 64 GB of files. I had to download tons of 2 GB zip files. Needless to say, I was unhappy and it took me days before all the downloads were successful.

Great way to store files!

2018-12-05

Super easy to use and free storage is always a good thing.

Pros

It's such a better deal than iCloud.

Cons

It's really not a con because not everything in life can be free, but I'd always love to have more storage for free.

Good, feature-rich file storage and sharing platform

2018-09-17

Pros

* Google Drive integrates well with desktop and mobile applications * Easy to share folders with others * Works well with GMail

Cons

* Pricing is not competitive with OneDrive and iCloud: With MS Office subscription, one gets 1TB storage on OneDrive (for as low as $6.99/month); iCloud is half the price of Google Drive.

Google Drive and Photos

2019-01-15

I have also used iCloud for 260GB pictures but absolute prefer Google disk.

Pros

It works without any problem across iPhone, my Sony smart phone and Lenovo Windows units. Backup and restore is sweet. Installations are so easy, walking ahead as a google user account with saved password only clicking YES.

Cons

Very very confused about used disk space and photos, where are the picture volume ??? It took me hours to learn that Google photo storage is free for any picture below 16 Mega Pixels and the pic volume is not seen on google disk usage. It is unclear to me what the delay should be from when data start loading to Google Drive and when actually seen on Google Drive view. Sometimes it seems to take days but in general less than 12 hours.

Buggy and a Resource Hog for Local Use

2018-12-30

I have moved to iCloud.

Pros

Drive makes it easy to access files from a cloud service. Most people have a Google account, so this simplifies setting up collaborations, securely sharing files, and accessing documents from any device.

Cons

I've used the app locally on both Windows and Mac to sync files and work as a secondary backup option. It's a resource hog using way more memory and CPU than it should. On Windows, it was especially buggy, often getting caught in startup and shutdown loops. I would periodically need to reinstall it. If you're not using a paid option from Google, forget about tech support. Also, if you read through Google's Terms of Use, you'll discover they can use any content you place on Drive for anything they want, as long as they're not violating copyright laws. They also do not guarantee your files will not disappear forever while on their servers.

Great App for Collaboration and Teamwork

2018-12-04

Pros

Easy to use, you can access to your files anywhere and create unlimited accounts. Its my favorite storage software.

Cons

Automatic updates, and that your files automatically upload or download to other devices, like iCloud does.

Not the best but necessary cloud drive

2018-11-02

Pros

Currently I just Dropbox and iCloud other than Google Drive.

Cons

As much as I don't have anything really good to say about Drive, there isn't much to say for the bad part. It really is similar to all other major competitors. So I guess if I were to say what I like least about Drive would be that it doesn't have any special feature that stands out.

My Go-To File Sharing Application

2017-08-15

Pros

- Ease of use - FREE! (unless you exceed size limitations) - Intuitive interface - Connection with numerous devices - Ease of sharing - No convoluted network settings keeping me from doing my job - Google Photo

Cons

- Not as seamless with Apple, yet easier than iCloud - Slightly blase look and feel - Questions regarding Google's privacy policies

2018-05-15

Cons

It is not perfect with Apple products and it does not have as much marketshare as iCloud and Dropbox.

Google Drive

2019-03-06

Pros

I love technology especially when it makes people’s life easier. Cloud technology got rid off usb drives and etc. Google drive is easy to use if you are using gmail and google docs due to its calibration with those.

Cons

Only thing I say that I usually use iCloud since I have iphone-macbook combination which is more convenient for me.

Very easy to use, yet powerful, cloud drive.

2017-05-16

Trustworthy backup functionality.

Pros

Trouble free utilization and intuitive integration with other Google tools, particularly Gmail and Google Docs.

Cons

Could use some extra space at the minimum level, and crossover functionality with other clouds like iCloud or OneDrive would be desirable.

Great Cloud based software for all devices

2017-09-13

All my files on any device when I want it

Pros

Cheap storage options for small businesses which compare better to iCloud, works on all devices, offline mode for mobile devices, constant updates, great way to organise files.

Cons

For some reason Drive doesn't like .pages, .numbers, .keynote and .app files. When uploading Apple Mac files it corrupts them by making them folders.

Clunky and not super easy to manage

2018-06-15

seamlessly backed up my information in the cloud

Pros

It is nice to know that info backs up automatically and that part seems seamless enough. There is a sense of security involved in knowing documents won't be lost.

Cons

Not enough space and it truly is far more expensive than comparable iCloud space so I dropped it in favor of that service.

Google Drive gives you more freedom for your hard drive....Give it a test drive.

2018-11-16

Using it to store and share projects that are graphic intensive.

Pros

You get lots of space in the cloud to start off with and the pricing after that is superior to that of dropbox or iCloud.

Cons

There isn't much that I don't like, you can access Google Drive from your desktop or your Finder window on a Mac. Perhaps more integrating syncing but sharing on Google Drive is usually seamless. Maybe more guaranteed privacy from Google itself would be nice.

Drive keeps me organized

2018-11-01

Google Drive keeps my remote team organized and working with the correct files on any project I have. The integration of Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, etc. makes it easy to stay organized for any of those documents as well. Upload and download speeds are really good, and only my internet connection gets in the way. I used the free tier for a long time and then decided to make it my only cloud service, and now I use it to keep my local files safe with a cloud backup. The small price I pay every month is more than worth the security.

Pros

Having a Mac, you would think I would use iCloud for my cloud storage needs, but that is not the case!

Cons

Sometimes waiting for a file to zip up can take awhile if you are trying to download a lot of content at once. I've canceled the zipping process before because it seems like it's not working, but it is. This is just a little confusion sometimes. But honestly, I can't remember a time that Google Drive has made me mad while using it. I don't remember it crashing or corrupting my files, or dropping uploads / downloads. I know it's not helpful, but for me, there are no cons to using Google Drive.

Almost Amazing

2019-03-10

Well most of the time I tell my colleagues send the file to my Drive or every single time I take photos I upload them onto Google Drive. Even I organize my patients files one by one. In my opinion it's a useful program at all.

Pros

The app gives 15 gigabytes of free space at start and when it's compared to other apps that provides cloud storage(especially Apple iCloud gives 5 gigabytes free)it's the best.

Cons

Sometimes music playlists disappears and gone for a while . But after about 15 minutes it comes back automatically. I think this problem should be fixed.

Best drive available

2018-10-09

Easy to share and use.

Pros

Best drive available between dropbox, iCloud ect. 15gb of free storage is tons of space if using to store files and the ability to share files between coworkers is a great feature.

Cons

The switch back and forth on mobile devices between the drive and googledocs is kind of annoying and in my opinion redundant.

Great easy tool to keep all your data safe

2019-01-05

Pros

The best thing about iCloud is that it comes with any Apple product, it is easy to use, and ensures that all data is stored through daily syncing.

Cons

Apple users and buyers should not have to pay additional for storage, would rather put it into google drive.
