Pros

I like that I can easily create, save and share documents using this app. Its also available for Android which is a great benefit.
The best bang for the buck easy to use and easier to set up user friendliness at its absolute finest.
The software is great for adaptation in many different facilities and functions across many platforms. It is easy to use and great for and type of documentation.

Pros

What I liked best was that it is free software and has a lot to do with application features that are currently only available in the paid application.
It is super easy to write, edit, and save documents. It's simple to use interface makes it so easy to write important documents.
I like that this program is free, and an alternative solutions for Microsoft office. People like that it works just like office does.

Cons

I hate that I can’t input texts or photoshop picturess and I hate how it’s only for Windows not apple.
Interface can be confusing and hard to figure out where to go.
I dislike that Microsoft Word formatting sometimes gets messy and difficult.

Cons

I quite dislike the lack of integrations with other products and apps like Microsoft Office does. It just makes your workflow sluggish.
My wife (long-term MS Word user with a Master's degree) struggled finding the functions she needed as opposed to how she did it in Word and got very frustrated.
There are some features are illogical and really hard to find. Opening word documents does not always work well and sometimes LibreOffice deforms the files.

È il Gotha dei software per l'elaborazione dei testi

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Credo che uno dei motivi che spingono a usare Microsoft Word sia il fatto di essere uno dei software più datati, più diffusi e più usati da tutti noi nel corso degli ultimi vent'anni, tutti noi prima o poi lo abbiamo usato.Il suo uso, dati i numerosissimi menu e sottomenu gerarchici non è dei più facili, occorre una certa pratica ed esperienza per usarlo al meglio temo che oltre il 50% delle sue funzioni non venga usato dall'utente medio.

Cons

Non ritengo abbia particolari difetti, lo uso molto spesso, devo dire in alternanza a LibreOffice Writer

Why do you really want to use Microsoft Word?

Reviewed 2 years ago

I used it for a long time, meanwhile it was offered for free when buying a new cpu.I don't like proprietary software, and switched to LibreOffice (and previously to OpenOffice). The same performance for free.

Pros

It is still today the de facto software in word processing. Strong in its implementation and full of tools, it also has the option to install external plugins, improving productivity. On top of all it is anyway a proprietary software which is not so easy to customize.

Cons

1. Price: Why should I pay for a software when I have open source alternatives (being LibreOffice the best one)? Open question...2. I personally don't like its ribbon style menus. But it is a question of taste and habit.

An essential tool for an office environment

Reviewed 4 years ago

Word is getting better and better with time. The 365 version is even better. Happy with it.

Pros

Word is my tool of choice for any document that requires an organised and professional presentation. It provides many powerful and convenient options such as indexing, integration to office and vast page and text configurations.

Cons

Microsoft could use some lessons from open suites such as LibreOffice un regards to autocorrect in spreadsheets. Also spreadsheets in docs could work as they do in Excel instead of "dummy" tables, providing more power to the tool

A Simple Microsoft Word Review

Reviewed 2 years ago

The business problem that Microsoft Word has solved for us is being a simple and easy way to create documents for our legal practices. It's not that difficult to use, and easy to install as well. Apart from the ease of us, Microsoft Word has great features that will save you a ton of headaches.

Pros

What I like most about this software is its friendly UI and ease of use. I've been using Microsoft Word ever since I was able to use a computer, and I have never preferred to switch over to competitors such as Google Docs, or LibreOffice.

Cons

What I like the least about this software is the difficulties of managing tabbed paragraphs and lists. They always seem to break the flow, and I would have to perform a double take in order of the lists and tabbed paragraphs to match it's surrounding.

Good but issues with proofreading and formatting

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is the best tool in the market compared to OpenOffice and LibreOffice but it still has room for improvement. Spelling/grammar features for English, Greek and German require improvements and document editing could be easier for heavily formatted documents.

Pros

It is easy to use and has many useful features necessary during daily work.

Cons

The editing features for German, Greek and English are poor and it doesn't recognize many errors it used to in older editions. There are grammatical mistakes in German and orthographic mistakes in the Greek dictionary. There is no grammatical check for Greek yet - it's about time they add this feature to Word. Editing documents after OCR with other tools is very hard, especially getting rid of unnecessary formatting or editing text boxes and images.

Word, per chi ha tempo

Reviewed a year ago

Just for advanced users, for regular there are plenty of alternatives

Reviewed 2 years ago

For 2 decades MS Word was only choice. With new century and alternatives like OpenOffice or Google Docs buying MS Word for most of users is a mistake. If you are advanced user, need a version control (see how GitHub works btw) document workflow or doc management - maybe it will be a good app for you.

Pros

+ first mover advantage: they created a market, so everything that other alternatives implemented is some kind of copy/inspiration of "good old Word" + well known interface + no compatibility issues even between older .doc versions + great functions that can connect other apps from MS Office (like connecting to Excel to print envelopes with mail merge functions) + great online library of doc templates + commenting and editor functions + vocabularies

Cons

- price, especially that for most of functions you may use a free alternatives like Google Docs, OpenOffice, LibreOffice etc. - current layout is very hard to use comparing to MS Word 97 - who need a WordArt in the world of Canva? - consumes a lot of resources, especially if document contains some pasted images (it should have something like lazy load in websites)

Even when I look for something cheaper I always come back

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

The capabilities with Word don't stop. I've been using Word since the '90s and to be honest, I think it's the program that most people are familiar with. Most documents need to be Office compatible in this day and age and it's easy to see why. Word is a word processor that packs a punch and allows you to do a lot with formatting, editing, and tracking of changes. The auto-correcting of grammar and spelling is an amazing feature for those of us who write for a living, and the choice to edit in multiple languages can be a must. Word can be used on a very basic level or on an extremely complex level depending on your requirements.

Cons

The only problem that I have with Word is the way in which basic functionality changed after a while. I took a break from using it when I couldn't afford it and moved over to LibreOffice which was laid out in a similar way to the older Word programs, moving back to Word 2016 was a challenge as I learnt the new panes over again, but other than that, I really can't fault it.

Just not worth it.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Slow. Just slow. There is not a need for many of the options that are available in the program. Honestly Microsoft needs to slim this program down and make it more lightweight and useable. It would also great to just have Word as a standalone product. In the end, its much more cost effective and easier to go with a free option like LibreOffice or OpenOffice. They are free, functional, just a feature packed and run much better on all spec PCs.

Pros

I do like that it is basically the same program underneath all these years. Documents are easy to write and easy to configure. Plus it does look really nice.

Cons

The program is so bloated these days that it just runs slow. It does not matter what computer I run this on or how bad or good the computer is, it always boots slow and just runs slow overall. This program has been fattened so much that one does not use a good 75 percent of all the useless options that are here.

If you need a word processor and don't like Google Docs or Microsoft Word, LibreOffice is a fine alternative. It compares favorably to both of them.

Pros

During college, LibreOffice saved my life. I didn't have Microsoft Word, and didn't want to pay just for a piece of software. It's free and it's a very competent word processor.

Cons

Now that Google Docs exists, LibreOffice is becoming less relevant. While Google Docs is taking the best of Microsoft Word and making it easier, LibreOffice is taking the best/worst of Microsoft Word, and making it more confusing.

I mainly use the writer and spreadsheet, and for my needs they function just as well as Microsoft Word & Excel. There may be some advanced options that don't compare, but for basic word processing and spreadsheet functions, I have had absolutely no problems.

Pros

Great value (it's free) and for my usage is a perfect alternative to Microsoft Word & Excel

Cons

So far I haven't had any issues. The software is easy to use.

Pros

It's free! It has most all of the options that microsoft word has but not the expense.

Cons

It doesn't always configure with Word documents so that's irritating.

Great Alternative to Microsoft Office

Reviewed 5 years ago

Overall I like the software, and have no problems either saving documents as an OpenDoc format or even the Microsoft Word Formats.

Pros

This has to be one of the best alternative to those that don't want to spend the cost to get Microsoft Office. Although they do not look like the newer Microsoft Office, it has the interface that everyone loved an are familiar with.

Cons

There is not too much not to like. I would have to say the least favorite is that launching the programs are individual but in one launcher.

Pros

Para mim foi o melhor custo benefício que em relação aos concorrentes como o Word da Microsoft.

Cons

Talvez uma leve demora no carregamento, o visual também deixa um pouco a desejar, mas nada incômodo.
