It is free and open-source, and it can accomplish some of the duties that other sophisticated software in its field can.

It has some issues with formatting and that can be a pain in the butt especially if you are used to MS Word. It's missing email and calendar applications.

If you ever used Word Perfect or other word programs before, this is just as easy to use (or even easier). Most of the same short-cut keys work from older version of any word program.

I also dislike it when I format a document in OpenOffice, the formatting doesn't translate to Microfsoft Word very well. I've often had to reformat OpenOffice documents to line up correctly in Word.

Not sure I have any complaints as of yet, how do you complain about something you got for free.

Customer service is a bit lacking but at the worst case Open Office can easily be reloaded. On occasion when sharing with other spreadsheets becomes a bit difficult.
