When fully customized and implemented, there is no better tool a construction contractor or service industry contractor could use...
Enjoy the ease of use, and overall capabilities.
That we are so busy at the time we are trying to implement and customize. Too busy so implementation has stalled.

I would recommend this product to anyone looking for construction management software.
Very easy to use and can keep track of multiple jobs very effectively. Contractor management superb.
The facility to have location based project management (like Vico does) along side the function based

I like the dependencies between tasks on the template. It makes it easy to adjust the overall schedule.
The templates stays in the month you made it - so you have to click back months and months to make edits. If a contractor is added to a project and then you no longer use that contractor, you can't delete them from the software.
Ashley, thank you for taking the time to give us your honest review! I will pass your feedback along. Thanks again!

We have been happy with the software and our clients are impressed that all the information is at their fingertips.
Buildertrend offers a comprehensive platform for us as a general contractor to communicate with our clients, sub contractors and suppliers.
random minor bugs that my sub contractors face when trying to find documents for projects, but yet are available on my end.

Scheduling, ToDo Lists. Cloud based so accessible from every computer, device.
Needs ability to store larger files in it's folders. Needs a better tracking solution for tracking sub contractor insurance.

Builder Trend is easy to use. They have done a good job of continuing to fix pain points and add new features. The Payments work well for many customers.
This is a minor thing, but i wish for the ability to have the contractor and the customer sign Proposals.
Delmas – thank you for the feedback! I will have your Buildertrend Coach reach out to you to chat more about our capabilities with signatures on proposals. Thanks again!

Overall it has improved our client and contractor communication. The clients in particular love it.
The ability for clients and contractors to see the information relevant to them on each project. Everyone is kept informed via the regular updates from the project manager. Clients also know where they are at financially based on the payments they have made and how any variations affect the total cost of the project.
Currently GST is not catered for so we can't use it effectively for purchase orders and running the project financials through Buildertrend.

BuilderTrend is a fantastic tool for a contractor to use for their operations, client relations, budgeting, marketing, and estimating. I am on buildertrend everyday looking at estimates, checking the calendar, and uploading pictures for clients. I have found that buildertrend gives a contractor the ability to have everything they need to successfully run a construction company. I have found that buildertrend is an indispensable tool that every contractor should be utilizing.

It’s a really good tool. I have never been a foreman before and with the schedule that has been out in place for me, helps control the flow of the process to build the house.
I really like the depth you can go with the program. We communicate through the whole company and sub contractors through the program. It’s not to difficult to use. It’s easy to maneuver through the schedules, daily logs, and to dos.
It would be easier if there was a send button to the sub contractors when I change the schedule and it doesn’t send out the new dates until I have adjusted the entire schedule. Subs will contact me because they get multiple notifications of different dates because I have to adjust it Murillo times before it’s set, because multiple items are linked to each other.
Adam - thank you for your honest feedback and 5-star review! We truly appreciate it.

It helps us keep our office and field connected with job information. Works well on smart phones and tablets. Allows for good job lookup after the job is complete.
I would like for the contracts to prompt the customer and the contractor for a signature. Currently it only asks the customer for the signature.
Delmas, thank you for your 5-star review! We’re so happy to hear how well Buildertrend is working for your company. I will pass your feedback on to our team too.

The team at builder trend are always available to help get the system set up to your needs. It is the best overall project management software with the best pricing we could find.
It is a little complex getting set up and takes dedicated time to really make it work especially if you are not specifically a building contractor.

Overall- if you are a builder it would be great. If you are a specialty contractor or remodeler, there are better options.
This is good software for a builder but my company does remodeling. I liked the idea of the product but it just didn't work for smaller projects. Very robust.
Too many features and not simple to use. Great for long projects but not good for projects that take 2 weeks or less.
Thank you for your honest review and feedback! We appreciate your honesty, and I've passed your feedback along to our team.

BuilderTrend has very many great features that are in demand by construction companies. The platform is neat and customizing it to your needs does not seem like an impossible task.
It seems to be a great software for a very small construction company or contractor but was not a great fit for a small company with many large size projects.

I like the ease of the software and robust cloud based service makes it easy to access information anywhere!
The assistance, ease of use and integration with QuickBooks.
The CRM could be more balanced between customer focused vs sales/lead focus, Hard to support multiple construction projects in multiple states. unable to set time zone based on project and contractor/employee.

Buildertrend has made the company I work for much more efficient and organized. I don't know how we operated before Buildertrend.
This platform brings loads of organization with the features it offers. This is a great way to help keep the contractor, sub-contractors, employees, and homeowner on the same page. This app leads us to use less paper.
Buildertrend offers a massive amount of features and it can be very complicated to learn about those features. Then once someone learns how to use the features it is difficult to pass that knowledge onto other people or new employees.
Thank you for your feedback, Cody! We truly appreciate it and are so happy to hear that it's made Carlson Projects more efficient.

This is a great communication tool. With all the information you put in, it is easy to pick it up from the other side for our contractors and trades. The schedule is a fantastic way for everyone to see what is going on with each job. With the scheduled items, you can attach notes and files, notify a contractor of an upcoming task or notify a contractor that they are no longer required for the job. It keeps record of all correspondence, this eliminates the need for having to save down into desktop files.
It is hard to fault, many of the issues I have experienced, the service team are quick to fix or review.

Keeps tabs on the progress of all projects also tracks insurance certificates and expiration. provides great ease on bidding process and compares all bids on one platform.
Intigration with quickbooks is poor, does not intergrate estimates. also does not have a tab to record meeting minutes. as a commercial contractor we would also need AIA billing which is not provided by Buidertrend
Kalmish - Thanks for the feedback. Your coach will reach out to show you how you can do your Meeting Minutes in Daily Logs and get your feedback on new features you are looking for. Thanks for posting.

The daily logs are super easy to report and great for to log photos and weather.
Tracking costs is not user friendly. You have to create a "dummy sub" to submit a bid for a contractor that doesnt use builder trend. I should be able to input the data and have it simply track that.

I really enjoy using Builder Trend and the fact that if you are unsure of things you can ask or check out tutorials they have an awesome "help" portal
Ease of Use- User Friendly Has a setting for everything- to give Employees all access or access to just features they will use Notifications for everything Great customer to contractor communication features that can be used Can customize how things are views Great Customer Care
Can be overwhelming with settings and notifications if you are not sure how to use the program or don't have time to understand the program
Kari, thank you for your 5-star review! We truly appreciate it.

As a Real Estate Developer/Contractor, I have not found another software application that comes as close as Buildertrend to being ideal for what we actually need. Despite the export/import and integration functions, it does
Without a doubt, the best thing about Buildertrend is the ability to have clients log in and view progress through logs and pictures. It saves everyone involved time and frustration! It also as a CRM function built-in which is a nice touch.
It is on the expensive side and can be glitchy. Hopefully, they will continue squashing the bugs! Despite the export/import and integration functions, it does not play nicely with other programs.

BuilderTrend allows all team members on a project to have one source to communicate with each other. If a contractor is in the field and needs a questions answered about a material specification, they can view it from their smart phone and get the information without delay.
I would prefer if the program had a more seamlessly integrated area to create to do lists for each project. The current to do list does not allow for enough customization for each project.

Overall, we have enjoyed starting to use the software and the biggest selling point was the lower cost to the similar program, Buildertrend.
Our business is construction and we liked that this software focuses primarily on that industry. It offers many tools we need a daily basis (job management, calendar, time cards, job estimating, proposals, and budgeting) and integrates with Quickbooks online which was very important for our company.
So far we've noticed some of the integration pieces have been a little clunky. Like not showing the cover page in the PDF of a proposal. Job cost codes have also been a bit challenging as the system doesn't like to let you use your own but rather the built-in suggestions.

Overall my experience has been good. I have used a plethora of other software like BuilderTrend, UDA Construction Suite, CoConstruct, BuildBook etc. And hands down think Contractor Foreman has the most bang for the buck.
I liked how it was easy to set up and integrate with QB.
The features that I would like to see improved most are the document markup feature. If it was more like bluebeam that would be wonderful. Additionally if the client portal was a little more dressed up and not so "dos" that would also be helpful but it gets the job done.

This software is just as powerful as the big names (procore, buildertrend) and cost much less. Every month there's a massive list of new and improved features, and the product really does get better each time. I'd like to see time cards a little more user friendly as my hourly guys constantly forget to clock in and out, and it's a bit of a hassle to make corrections.
Extremely customizable, gives the ability to create either very detailed specific estimates (line item) or lump sum with a single click. GPS tracked time punches, group chat, real time photo uploads, customer portals.
Confusing and needlessly complicated time cards, gps only tracks at punches and does not ping employees, PDF estimates could be a tad prettier.
Thanks Paul for the awesome reviews. To help with time cards, we do have click-in and clock-out reminders. We also have the ability to automatically insert a break as well as the ability to clock out automatically after a certain amount of time. To enable these options, go to Time Cards > Settings. Thanks again and we appreciate your great feedback.

I think you have a great software with tons of potential and it is very all encompassing, I think you could charge a lot more for the software with some enhancement to the user interface online and in app as well as adding those abilities to time track any type of order but most of all the one thing above all else that keeps you from being able to charge more is the lack of integration training and...
You have a lot of features built into one place.
Not very user friendly, wording and descriptions for permissions for example are confusing, app user interface could be simplified for field techs, should be able to have a customer with multiple locations and the biggest feature that is missing is the ability to require time tracking on work orders and change orders. Also hate that you cannot create a service ticket with an item from an estimate or sov. Also, hate that you cannot create estimates, invoices, payments, change orders, work orders, po's, bills, expenses or add subcontractors through the project summary unless one has already been created outside of the summary.
Thank you Jessica for the feedback. Will you please send me additional details bout the Con's you mentioned? support@contractorforeman.com. It's difficult for a service provider to provide live phone support that is able to answer your call when you answer without charging as much as our providers do. Most of our customers do not need that level of service so we work to keep the price low by offering live chat support and email support even during the evening and weekends.
