Being able to pull up multiple plan sheets simultaneously, I can cross reference and input data from multiple sources without having to get out of one to get into the others. While tracing contours, sloping lines, subgrades, etc., vector points pop up ahead of where I've traced, making imputing the data faster and more accurate.

Features like trench takeoff with reliable spoils/backfill quantities round out the package and make it a dependable tool for real‑world construction workflows.

Being able to move your screens and views around if you have multiple monitors makes customizing your workflow to however you want it.

Even with concept plans it makes it easy to generate a report and allows me to estimate earlier in the project which in turn makes bidding easier.

My only caveat about the product is I do still use other takeoff software to do measurements besides the cut and fill quantities and surface square footage.

I am excited to see an in-program material catalog, but am looking forward with greater eagerness to layered/phased proposed grades and phased subgrades, as well as an intersect tool for subgrades.

Our customers love the 3D modeling of both the existing contours as well as the proposed contours.  

That being said, the combination of InSite and another software like Bluebeam is still far cheaper per month in subscriptions than the more expensive earthwork software out there.

Just like any estimating program, you have to learn how to input the information so it's useable when it comes out, but overall I've found this process relatively easy, and the reports very informative and useful.

We are considering moving to Trimble Business Center, simply because of the Geolocate use with our equipment, but otherwise would stay in a heartbeat, if you don't use Geolocate equipment (at least Trimble), this is hands down the best

Insite elevation pro has been very beneficial for our estimating department to be able to accurately take off earthwork projects.

Then being able to Geo locate the project so customers can see their project at completion, is a game changer.

Sometimes when multiple lines are close together, it can be like a wack-a-mole trying to click on them before they disappear again.

Alot of the issues we experience are not fixed within a timely manner and negative elevations are not recognized.

The training tutorials, videos, and classes make it very easy for a beginner with little to no experience learn how to use the software effectively.

Subgrades go quicker with the ability to trace areas more precise.

Beyond those top two, InSite delivers excellent value for the money, especially considering how capable and consistent the software is compared to other takeoff platforms.

The program also has a awesome feature to build 3D models which allow for great visual presentations.

Some plans it doesn't pick up contour lines, so it takes a very long time to do a take-off.

Some times CAD files are complicated and takes too long to start working

At first it can be quite intimidating to use and learn however the classes In-Site offers help soften the curve.

I have been using InSite since doing take offs on a digitizer which is what I learned on.

so I can better keep track of what backfill type I modeled.

Elevation takeoffs take a lot less time to complete.

The Learning curve is a little longer than I would want, to gain expect a high proficiency of usage.

I haven't figured out an exclude area option yet.  

It is budget-friendly, but yet provides all of the necessary information and quality, easy to read reports.

The company I work for bids multiple jobs per week, so this program is high importance to us.

That was incredibly important for me and my company to be able to teach ourselves on our own time.

I feel that it is very easy to learn and if you have any questions insite service is super responsive and helpful!

One of the biggest advantages for us has been the accuracy!

I wish it was easier to set up certain files.

It's been a smooth transition from the old program to InSite Elevation.  

It is easy to learn and use making the estimating process much more simple.  

The reports are generated quickly and accurately.

The technical support is very responsive and quick to provide help when needed.

It is hard to pinpoint one favorite feature.  

The learning curve is nowhere near as hard as I expected.

Estimates are more consistent from job to job and we can see where the costs are going on a line by line basis.

we recently switched over to the cloud and that was a great decision to be able to estimate anywhere.

The estimating platform is very easy to use.  

For the record, we use Procore for project management which costs significantly more than B2W, but the value for what we get is far better.  

It is possible to accidentally make changes in database that affect a wide range of other projects.

Reusable cost structures greatly improve estimating efficiency.

Just know it's limited and very (very) expensive if that's not your company.  

We have to export to excel and spend about an hour or two to prepare a budget so it will upload correctly.

Setting bond, profit, overhead and labor burden is a breeze with B2W.

Integrating with Spectrum accounting software is still a bit of a challenge.
