Huge time saver and estimating more accurately is a pro. We can win more jobs and have a more efficient teams, which means more profit.
Having to purchase more Look ups every so often, there may be another option I’m unaware of.
Ease of use, high quality, annotated plans download, materials list download, measuring tool on the top bar (great for detail sections).
When uploading plans, the quality gets a little messed up compared to my PDF version, especially if the plans were hard to read to begin with it makes it harder to do a takeoff.
LandOne has been a great software and has met my needs perfectly.

I hate this company because they will not support my needs when I get stuck or the product does not work.

The customer service is absolutely amazing and better than any company I have ever worked with. The App in itself is brilliant and is so easy to use I would recommend this to anyone.
Autocount is somewhat unreliable so have to check very closely for any missed items, this however does not take long.
I love that they are paying attention to what I am doing constantly and suggesting ways to improve how I'm doing it.
I was dubious how well this product would work and how accurately the software would find the symbols for my electrical drawings.
The best feaute is the estimating once all kits are created gives a great cost to labour break down.
It requires the use of a dropbox which might not always be practical in companies which have limited internet browsing.
Once a floor has been set up the way it automatically applies this to other drawings is brilliant.
And sometimes you may have to go over some drawing to see if it missed out any of the symbols.
Very efficient, software very easy to use, great support team, would not want to be without it.
Ease of use is excellent. Most aspects of the tool can be picked up with no prior experience using this.
Overall experience is very good, helps a lot when trying to put a quick price together at early stages.
Being able to measure builings, add devices, check work is fantastic.
I love that the Countfire team keeps an eye on the way you use the software and come in with suggestion how to use the tool more effectively if they see you making the same mistake multiple times.

Very happy with everything about Active. All queries have been dealt with and we have not had to reissue questions etc like we have had to do with other products.
These systems were abandoned because they were too awkward to easily use or from lack of support and costly upgrades.
The countless array of colors and hatches gives this product a tremendous amount of flexibility. Couple that with the awesome reports and estimating tools and you have a winner.
I have yet to find anything I dislike about the software. There have been 1 or 2 times where my scroll was slightly jerky but I attribute that to my computer, not the software.
Pro's: I have tested a few other on-screen measuring products and i find 'Active' to be more user friendly with an easier learning curve than most. Customer service is fantastic.
I've had to switch computers a few times, and the licensing can be a bit difficult to get transferred to a new computer, as is the transferring of the files.
With OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SUPPORT, they really assist when you need it. They are courteous, knowledgeable and respectful to us laymen users that do not know the in's and out's of programming.
The drop down menu where you choose the next item to take off is too small. I end up scrolling for days to find the one item I am looking for.
Program is great, very easy to use. Their customer service has been quick and responsive.
Experimented with the free trial, bought the software two months ago and am doing over 400,000 square feet a month. Like any software system, it's very capable and powerful.
The intuitiveness of the software is just amazing. I didn't need tutorials for the most part and was able to figure out what I was able to do just by trying things out.

Overall, I'm extremely happy and I love all the growth and opportunities to tie my website in with the profile, the 3-D, rendering options, and all the bells and whistles that you provide.
Being directly connected to a potential client by a computer on the phone, when they have no idea who you are or why your are calling at what is usually an inconvenient time for them.
The messaging features and leads features are very helpful, and I like the concierge. I haven't used the estimate feature because we have our own system for that, but I like that it exists.
I have had a few spam encounters recently and the # of leads I receive has dropped.
The ease of use of the product is certainly there and integration with the business model was easy. The client success manager that we are assigned is amazing.
But the automatic responses are irritating as they continue to ask you to respond when that's already be done. The program doesn't follow through as you move through the process.
Honestly, working with Houzz has been a great experience. Everything is user friendly, our rep is great and the advertising aspect can't be matched.
They demand we get onto a call for every simple issue and are incapable of doing the most basic work in a timely or efficient manner.
I am impressed with the ability to create floor plans in Houzz Pro and will play around with it more when I get some more help in the office.

The preconstruction bidding tool is horrible and the development team is more concerned with increasing their market share than fixing problems with the tool.
Many great features but the best feature by far is its ability to organize drawings. Additionally the RFI, RFQ, and Change Event features are all great.
Awful - horrible program that you cant even stop the stupid emails even after you tell them you want nothing to do with their program any longer. I would pay to get rid of this program.

The ease of the program has been great. The ability to obtain the information out in the field is a plus benefit.
Plangrid has a function to add hyperlinks within the planes, so that they lead directly to another plane. This system is very uncomfortable, and tends to make the platform collapse, so it is useless.
Awesome history set, mark-up capability, submittal/document integration, punch lists, the list goes on and on. Very intuitive interface and our field guys love it.
PlanGrid is an arrogant, self centered company that refuses to be of help when asked. I have recorded complaints with the California BBB and the FTC.
They want you to succeed, they want to help you fix any issues that arise - they're part of our team and we appreciate their excellent customer and technical support.
The interface is still difficult to navigate for more seasoned professionals which can cause them frustration.
The collaboration features are straightforward and work seamlessly allowing for great cooperation and efficiency when reviewing submittals, rfis, or drawings and designs.
Try to battle off more than it can chew, which can make the coordination process more difficult. Too many built-in functions and no lite alternatives for our specifications.
Very appealing graphics in 2d and 3d, nice document management and some options for automation with the workflows.
Very useful during the design and coordination phase of the job where issue resolution and clash detection is most important.

It has so many awesome features to help communicate plan changes effectively, do takeoffs, grab quick dimensions on plans, and so much more.
Read that again, if you complain too much they will FIRE YOU instead of fix their internal problems.
The ease of use, moderate learning curve, and ease of roll out in a non-enterprise environment is outstanding.
To make matters MUCH worse they have no escalation policy at all. Read that again; a SOFTWARE company has zero escalation policy.
We love using Bluebeam for drawings that are sent to our customers for their approval. These are easy to mark up.
My only complaint is when I change computers and have to sign in and out on the new computer. Bluebeam is currently working on this.

I like how user-friendly it is. When I do have a question about it, I love that you can easily chat with an Agent who is ALWAYS helpful.
Terrible abominable customer service, unethical, dishonest thieves. Manager was the worst, she uses dishonest interrogation techniques to avoid any liability, fault and to escape offering any refund.
Love the layover feature in order to do changeorders. Also love the ability to have many screens open for the same project in order to look at details.
There also is no undo feature so when you make a mistake on a takeoff you have to delete it and redo the entire thing. There should be a ctrl z type undo feature.
I only used Stack for a couple of days, but I really liked the ease of the takeoff tools. It was very user friendly to navigate.
I can't determine if its the software or the hardware of my laptop, but when I use it I find that the documents/image lags on medium to large files.

There also is no undo feature so when you make a mistake on a takeoff you have to delete it and redo the entire thing. There should be a ctrl z type undo feature.
I only used Stack for a couple of days, but I really liked the ease of the takeoff tools. It was very user friendly to navigate.
I can't determine if its the software or the hardware of my laptop, but when I use it I find that the documents/image lags on medium to large files.

The select feature and then having to click delete in a second feature. The fact that you cant move the scale popup is really annoying.
It is very easy to use, it is very versatile, homework is done very fast, it's pretty good.
Love the easy features to help remind the team of critical items and warnings. Love the take off features to keep sequences in order.
I have been using this program for about a year and am impressed by the number of enhancements and functionality that have been added in just the short time I have been using it.
We are saving time and money which is big. I also love that we are now more accurate in our bidding process.
I can easily manuever through plan pages to perform area takeoffs, set custom scales, print out reports with data and it is a great user friendly product. Integration is simple as well.
This software is extremely useful for all of those circumstances. The software itself is intuitive and easy to use.
Cloud based and customer service are the best out there.
As we are primarily a Mac based office, this is great and does not require virtualization to run windows based software. Stack is also incredibly fast to navigate and bring up projects.
We've handles jobs from a few thousand to millions and the PMs love our cost break outs.

What I like about PlanSwift is that it is very easy to use while it provides useful features. Would like to commend their customer service, they are very quick and solved my issue immediately.
We just can't be in the same job at the same time or it might get errors. There is no automatic association between a part in a parts list and the same part in an assembly.

My overall experience has been wonderful. The Edge Estimating team has been more than helpful if we have ever needed any help with the Edge system.
Also, on occasion it will not show any errors but when you try and view the recap it will not let you saying there are errors. With all of that being said it is a minor problem for this software.

The program is awful, but I really don't have a choice to use anything else. I have started developing my own program.
My day to day experience with the edge is very user friendly, I find myself being able to navigate with ease through the program and customer support has been good.

Any cons I have about the product most likely are my lack of usage with the feature.
Overall we have been extremely pleased with InSite and have recommended it to at least 2 other contractors we know.
This has only been an issue a few times over my career). Lastly, the shrink/swell is a little different thinking than us dirt guys use.
Very easy to implement and the staff is great to help learn and onboard.
Lack independent function to align sheets, spot elevation input glitch after moving image, lack of ability to select and edit pipe input.
In discussing our estimators most liked feature, they were quick to mention the offset tool and its ability to adjust and produce accurate results.
Customer Service is fantastic and can get me an answer right there or within a day.
The cost of InSite along with the benefits and ease of use it what lead us to purchase the software.
InSite is very user friendly and provides ease of use in planning, executing, and bidding projects of all sizes.

It is an easy friendly software to use and to learn. The support team is good and I really like the new chat help, with save us ton of time to solve a problem.
Overall, our experience has been negative. Nearly 100% of our users dislike it in comparison to other systems we have used in the past.
It can be all encompassing with “modules. From Estimating (which is an excellent product) through the accounting modules to project management, the workflow is pretty seamless.
Future period balance sheets which cross a fiscal year are difficult to create because of how retained earnings is posted. Unable to tell the current period when entering report parameters.
That is very nice that it pulls everything from Sage and makes the reporting process seamless and easy. There are many other products that integrate well including MyAssistant.
We have been using this software for MANY years and the fact that we cannot remove unneeded accounts, payroll deductions, and codes is ridiculous.
We are a basic general contractor, it works really well and fits most of our needs. I love the inquiry modes and the easy access to information very quickly and the ability to customize.
Now that i am much smaller company. This is too much software for me and feel the cost to reimplement is too expensive so i am stuck until i am able.
This program probably intergrates the best especially for a multi-divisional company to have a single system that does everything, A/R, A/P, Contract Management, Payroll it's great.
The Financial Statement Reporting is horrible.
I have had great success in applying the knowledge I have learned thru Timberlines, Knowledge base.
The overall accounting approach to how information is presented is lagging, in my opinion.
I like that there is accountablitiy to things being entered and tracking as to whom may have changed items. I enjoy that it is accounting rules driven.
Outdated interface and non-flexible entry screens. Support is painful, all depends on who you get to answer the pholne.
I enjoyed the ease of Sage and getting around from one area to the next. Very self explanatory and easy to use.
Customer service has declined. Long wait times when calling in, first line support personnel are inadequately equipped to answer questions, and enhancement requests are ignored.
The tracking of costs and billings is great in this software.

They take all the wish list from users and continue to improve which is awesome knowing it will grow as we grow.

They take all the wish list from users and continue to improve which is awesome knowing it will grow as we grow.
Inability to adjust purchase orders once created (need to delete and go again). Not having a take off tool once the job goes past estimate stage.

It also tends to lag pretty badly when drawings become complex. It is also very difficult to draw an accurate ellipse, which is something I really need to be able to do.
The ability to draw simple floor plans was great. It was easy to do, and for the most part, had the shapes I needed.
My only complaint is that you cant used on the PC to Draw when I'm in the office.
ArcSite is working seamlessly on our iPads and the company was great to provide training immediately after our purchase.

The ease of use and the accuracy is quite good. Layouts are excellent for not only sales team but installers as well to know what the job in-tails before they get there.
I hate that I pay for the new version but still use an unsupported one but some day I guess I'll have to make the switch.

The software is free and for that it has value in helping to increase bid particpation. Also alot of small subcontractors use it so it has a good outreach.
Sometimes deadlines for quotes are too close to when info was received. I have to make drawings for Fire Alarm systems - lack of time.
Customer service is amazing. I have never had to wait for help and one of the rep is so patient and helpful.
Editing a project is still somewhat frustrating and in some areas there aren't enough options to choose from. There is no place for photos in the plans area.
Really like using Plan Hub & all the help I get from the rep. We get several bids for our projects using Plan Hub, its been a win win for our Company.
Their aren't any things that i dislike about this software.
PlanHub has been useful for obtaining proposals. This is especially helpful for out of town projects that we may not have a strong presence in.
The "messaging" is difficult to use. Questions and answers do not stay together as a conversation.
I also feel that the ability to review all of the documents is great. It is easy to use and I am able to share the info with others on my team.

The Customer Tech help is absolutely outstanding. I am so pleased with every interaction I have had with your company.
This product suffers from the same thing that plagues most other takeoff software. The loading times to open a project with a lot of items taken off are high.
We like most that it is pretty user-friendly and easy to train on. The Customer Support has been amazing every time we've called.
Sometimes the databases can crash, losing hours of work. Another feature I wish it had was preconstructed conditions so you wouldn't have to build them.
The ease of use for this software is one of the important features that it has. You do not need to have all the technical knowledge regarding estimating for using this.
I HATE having to rename pages one at a time that are combined; your competition has this feature that does it automatically (and its much cheaper)-you guys should have had this a long time ago.
Its ease of use combined with top-notch reliability and customer service ensures we can do our job with the confidence a cost estimator demands.
If I were looking for a CON really hard I would have to say the only thing that fails this software is look. The user interface is dated and could use some bringing into the modern age.

My overall experience with Esticom has been wonderful. Having a tool that is so easy to use has let us focus more on how to improve our estimating rather than on how to use our software.
Sometimes when using this software to do bid management it can be confusing.
I do recommend this to whoever is in need for big projects. I do like the idea that you could change colors when estimating for easy understanding.
The price is a little high and dependency to internet access could be a problem sometimes.
Cloud based - I can estimate and track projects on any computer wherever I have a good internet connection. Economical - Low monthly or annual costs allow a great ROI.
I'd say the two small things that bother me most are. Not being able to add one-time-use items to the estimating section.
I really like the ease of importing plans, the scaling feature, and layers. The job proposal feature is also very useful.

We have been very satisfied with Maxwell Systems, their support is top of the line. Mary Heinze is our account rep and she has been very good at helping us with all of our needs.
It will convert the pdf's to a lower quality drawing and convert it to black and white which is horrible. It will crash if you import CAD files too big and lag significantly for medium size cad files.

I've had a hard time tracking down products because I was in the wrong location (mostly hangers).
Then the fun really began when the staff customized my template to fit my needs. All the support has been amazing.
Sometimes importing older versions into the current version creates a lot of problems to the point where the take-off has to be re-drawn.
The vendor is very responsive and always happy to help work through issues that may arise.
There is no undo button. This software offers so much it can be overwhelming at times.
I began using PrebuiltML when it was first released. The software was truly amazing and has become better than ever before in the months since its release.
Labeling could still be tweaked. It can't manually move labels, and the shift label button only moves joists and beam labels I believe, so other labels such as blocking still get covered up.
I have begun to appreciate the the Prebuilt ML program more and more as I use it. It has been a tremendous help in allowing us to provide service to our customers that most of our competitors do not.

Lack of customisation for setting out your company process.
Since then, there has been significant updates to the system which is great and very much look forward to learning what the system can do further.
Of more concern is that the system fails in basic auditing and compliance. Staff were able to delete documents and evidence from the system without the Compliance Director being informed.
The dashboard layout is fantastic as you can customise what information you want to see in real time without having to wait an age with older systems to download into a spreadsheet.
It requires more trainings and overall feedback from our users is that it is hard to work with it when it is not on daily basis.
