What is RWIND 2?
RWIND 2 is a stand-alone program for the numerical simulation of wind flows. It uses a digital wind tunnel to simulate wind flows around any building geometry and determine the resulting wind loads on surfaces. RWIND 2 is available in Basic and Pro versions.
The program was developed in cooperation with PC-Progress and CFD Support. Therefore, it can be used as a standalone application or together with RFEM and RSTAB for complete structural analysis and design. There is a native connection between RFEM and RWIND 2 allowing efficient data exchange.
RWIND 2 features an intuitive user interface based on the CAD concept for easy navigation and control. Results can be displayed directly in RFEM for streamlined workflows. The program performs CFD calculations to simulate wind flows and enables the transfer of wind loads to RFEM or RSTAB. Additional features include a mesh refinement editor for precise definition of meshing rules and consideration of adjacent buildings and objects.
The RWIND 2 Pro version allows calculation of transient incompressible turbulent wind flows. It also enables application of permeability to surfaces for efficient modeling, determining microclimate, analyzing influence, and improving precision.
