SiteWorx overview

What is SiteWorx?

SiteWorx/OS is a specialized earthwork takeoff and site excavation software application that converts two dimensional construction drawings into three dimensional surface models for precise volume calculations. The application digitizes existing ground contours and proposed grade design lines directly from PDF, DWG, and DXF file formats to generate detailed representations of existing and proposed site conditions. SiteWorx/OS targets civil contractors, site development professionals, and earthwork estimators who require accurate volume data for bidding and project planning. The application operates as a standalone Windows workstation solution for site planning and earthwork quantification.

The software provides comprehensive surface modeling capabilities that enable one click contour takeoff from vector PDF and DWG files or manual tracing of contour lines from raster drawings. It supports the incorporation of spot elevations, project boundaries, sloping design lines, and boring data into the surface models. Users can query elevation values at any point on the generated surfaces. The modeling environment accommodates multiple surface layers within a single project to facilitate comparison between existing and proposed conditions.

The earthwork calculation engine computes net cut and fill volumes between the existing and proposed surfaces and segments subgrade material volumes and trench excavation quantities for separate analysis. It includes calculations for over excavation and backfill materials as well as topsoil stripping and re spread with configurable exclusion zones. Boring log input functionality enables the breakdown of cut volumes by soil type based on subsurface investigation data. Site balancing tools allow project division into zones to optimize material movement and reduce soil import or export requirements. The software generates twelve distinct report types organized into quantity, field and stakeout, and soil and trench categories to support detailed analysis and documentation.

SiteWorx/OS exports quantity results to Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF formats for integration into bid packages and project documentation and provides copy and paste functionality for spreadsheet workflows. Takeoff geometry can be exported as DWG files for use in computer aided design environments while GPS surface model points can be exported as CSV or DWG files for machine control and field staking. The application supports integration with cloud storage drives to enable project file backup and collaboration. It requires Windows ten or Windows eleven operating systems with eight gigabytes of memory minimum, sixteen gigabytes recommended, and one gigabyte of disk space.
