Overall... I found STACK much harder to learn.  I had to contact support many times asking them how to do things that PlanSwift did.  They were good at returning my questions, but the answer was always several clicks compared to one with PlanSwift OR... the program won't allow that specific function.  After 3 months of using STACK, I went back to PlanSwift.

Very good so far.  I still need to master some of the mechanics, i just wish some of the mechanics were a little easier to use and manipulate.

Some Features are great , there is couple small thing we do prefer with planswift . Like exporting price to takeoff with doing assemblies

Terrible abominable customer service, unethical, dishonest thieves. Manager was the worst, she uses dishonest interrogation techniques to avoid any liability, fault and to escape offering any refund. I had purchased their terrible product for $1000 and sought a refund a week after, their manager kept calling trying to prove their product had no problems. After a few conversations of her trying to convince me her product is good, I finally conceded and told her their software is ok just so she would lay off and move on to the refund, but she used it to avoid the refund. Disgusting abominable woman. 

Terrible Product Even Worse Customer Service

Being able to do my take-off & have it go straight into an estimate saves me time and makes for better accuracy.

A few shortcomings, but overall very good.

My reviews are in the middle for various reasons. After using OST, Planswift & Maxwell I have found that Stack is different but has a lot of potential to be my favorite so far. I started as an AutoCAD user and have done a ton of drafting and I find that I miss some of the tools that I have become accustomed to using. I am told that Stack is ever evolving and that constant improvements are always in the works. I can't wait to see what's next!

Still earning the software but is working ok

Before I used stack ct, our company used an estimating system known to many;  planswift.  When we made the switch to stack ct about a year ago, I was suprised we hadn't switched before. The ease of use and ergonomical set up makes this cloud based system great for not only one, but many user to edit all at once. Even better, we upgraded about 2 months ago to the full Stack Pro and are now using the items and assemblies options. I can run a full job and have my estimate in under 30 minutes thanks to this awesome feature. 
One of the main reasons I will be staying with stack is their level of customer service, no matter what the problem is, or the time you  are having the problem, the service is top level and extremely helpful. So far, I have not had one problem they haven't been able to fix.  
I would highly recommend this great product for any estimators looking to make their job more simple.

It runs very slow at times, to the point that I have to shut down my browser (Google Chrome) and restart it.  I know it's not my internet, as I have zero problems with other websites.  

Furthermore, I can not stand it when I download drawings, upload them, and then have them show "þÿ" as a plan name.  Not only do I have to waste time by going through each drawing individually to rename it to the original name, but there are many times that it does not save, and is named something else.  An example is I was just trying to change the "þÿ" to "overall roof plans."  After making the change, and going back to the page that I thought was "overall roof plans," it was labeled elevations.  Not only does this take a lot of extra time, that it shouldn't, but it is extremely frustrating.

Between having to rename files, and restarting my browser when it locks up, I feel as though this is not worth the money.  I also use Planswift, and I do not have these same issues.  Unless things like this are resolved, I will not continue with this software once my yearly subscription expires.

You can not beat the detail and functionality of Planswift. It is an excellent program for the price and is very menu driven, but the support and error issues leave a lot to be desired.

I like how user-friendly it is. When I do have a question about it, I love that you can easily chat with an Agent who is ALWAYS helpful.

Love the layover feature in order to do changeorders. Also love the ability to have many screens open for the same project in order to look at details.

I only used Stack for a couple of days, but I really liked the ease of the takeoff tools. It was very user friendly to navigate.

There also is no undo feature so when you make a mistake on a takeoff you have to delete it and redo the entire thing. There should be a ctrl z type undo feature.

I can easily manuever through plan pages to perform area takeoffs, set custom scales, print out reports with data and it is a great user friendly product. Integration is simple as well.

As we are primarily a Mac based office, this is great and does not require virtualization to run windows based software. Stack is also incredibly fast to navigate and bring up projects.

The detailed budgeting information and ability to export so that the data can be used with other software  is what makes PlanSwift so valuable as an estimating tool.

Allows fairly accurate job costing. And it has a ton of functions that are very useful for so many aspects of construction.

Also, I waited to have my computer rebuilt until I had finished a big project, so I didn't really miss anything that I had lost.

It will allow you to take off plans in a fraction of the time compared to doing it with pen and paper. It can export all of your takeoff to Excel and makes sending quotes a breeze.

This software absolutely streamlines the takeoff process and then compiles easy to use reports.

Used to do quick take offs for estimating and budgeting purposes. Took a bit of time to get used to all of the tools but is very useful now.
