I even contacted [sensitive content hidden] , the company’s owner, who apologized and promised a refund. Despite this, no refund was issued.

It's just endlessly detailed and complex for no reason, all of the features that any business needs can be duplicated in accuity for a lot less money.

Again, he promised to issue a refund but failed to follow through.

I signed up for flexbooker, thinking that it was a little bit expensive, but I thought it would be worth it to have that level of customization.

There's also some complexity to setting up everything to your specifications, but that is more a minor issue, but there could a better default customization experience set up.
