I used this LMS in a college I used to work for, I can compare it to the other companies in the market, all and all it was fine, I can't say it does anything special. It was comparable to other LMS'S
It comes down to price, I enjoyed schoology and sakai more but they are more similar than different. I would focus on price as a determining factor

I have experienced Moodle in the form of a student. I enjoyed the interface.
Moodle allows teachers, parents, and students connect online in an ever growing world. It provides the tools to teachers and administrators so they can create class sites that collect, publish, and share work. I really appreciate the simplicity of the site. This allows teachers at all levels to take advantage of the offered tools. The templates are very user friendly.
This market is booming and I find that Moodle is a bit behind the curve in terms of marketing. They have fallen behind others like Schoology and Canvas.

It really has the most capabilities -- I have used Blackboard, Blackbaud, Skyward, Renweb, and Schoology. Moodle has the most flexibility and sophistication, and the most appropriate for a real classroom teacher. The other systems are by nature designed for administrators and salespeople and novices (who makes the purchasing decision?). Classroom teachers are used to being directed to use this...

Actually 2.5 out 5. Moodle has long been a stock for electronic environments but it has suffered as so many well meaning software projects before it: It has become overfunctional and outdated. When Moodle started out it must have started out small and with an enthiustaic core group of open source developers. Unfortunately, software developers aren't great at developing graphic and friendly interfaces....

Our school Moodle System requires each student to go to its school system administrator for registration. The system of registration slows me down a lot especially when I have new students coming in later weeks in class. With Schoology, I just ask my students to register with their emails and search for my course and provide them with the access code.
Schoology is one of the most easiest learning management system softwares available online for free. The features are highly intuitive that you can use it without formal training. You can easily create courses and upload your documents that you want to share with your students. You may set different types of quizzes (short-answer, multiple choice, etc.) depending on the time and day you want to schedule it.
During my migration from Moodle to Schoology, I downloaded the existing quizzes from Moodle format. I can not upload the quiz texts so I need to re-type all over again in Schoology.

Schoology provides an innovative and user-friendly platform for students and teachers alike. It is frequently updated and offers a good support network. The main drawback is that it cannot be integrated or ported to support other LMSs, such as Brightspace. This limitation is a drawback if students are required to use multiple LMSs in their schools.
User-friendly interface Aesthetically appealing menus Excellent toggling and response times Parents have access
This is an alternative to Google Classroom, Moodle, and other LMSs. As such, it cannot be easily integrated with LMSs that might be present for other courses, such as concurrent enrollment.

This is the system our school district, which is the largest school district in one of the USA's top high tech hubs, saddled us with. But it's so hard to set up that several months in the school year, the district still can't figure out how to connect me to the courses I teach. Oddly, all my students can. which is pointless, as if I can't access my courses then there won't be anything there for the students to access. Fortunately the district chose a different product for posting grades and attendance. I have been able to access training tutorials the district has set up for staff. Those are neither good nor bad, just meh. I ended up personally setting up my moodle site with moodle cloud, and gave up on schoology ever working.
It's free from the school district so I don't have to pay for it.
The parts that I could use are too complicated , including simply accessing one's course.

I have used Schoology in my classroom for the past four school years. Prior to that, I had tried Moodle, Blackboard and Edmodo for use with my students. Schoology has been the most intuitive to understand and set up. It helps students easily find resources and allows me to integrate numerous online tools, meeting all of my needs as a classroom teacher. This year, our district has moved to requiring us to use Canvas, which really put just how easy and functional Schoology is into perspective for me.
Schoology is very intuitive for teachers, students and parents providing an easy to use learning management system for all.
Using the free, non-enterprise, version doesn't provide teachers with student access analytics.

As a vendor, Schoology is top notch. I feel like the crew there is an extension of my immediate work group. Everyone at Support, our Account Manager, and especially their PD team are friendly and professional. I follow many of them on Twitter and we share ideas and thoughts on the product. I'm thankful for their responsiveness and their authenticity about not being able to do everything at all times,...
The product is young and still catered towards the K12 environment. The language, the features, and the community of users are primarily K12. While that's not a big deal, it can often make community events or new features irrelevant to the higher ed environment. The only other downside is that there are not many settings for students with special needs. It is often clunky to create workarounds to accommodate students who need more time in quizzes or struggle to access media content.

Moodle. Blackboard. Edmodo. Google Classroom. Each year of teaching seemed to bring with it another piecemeal LMS until we found Schoology! Schoology allows our teachers, students, admin and community to stay informed and connected. As a teacher, Schoology was easy to figure out due to its intuitive platform. I love the various features and app integrations that allow students to do much of their online...

Very attractive initial user interface convinces beginning administrators and teachers and parents that Schoology looks great. Ecstatic user reviews are convincing as well...except those users all appear to be first-time users whose primary reference point is Facebook. Schoology is two years old, and is attempting to leapfrog older established systems; but it is quite immature yet, and struggling...
