And their customer service over the years has been amazing. I've used several other tax software programs over the years and so far, this is the best.

This software is very difficult to use and unable to handle complex business returns. In pro-series when you receive an error message Pro.

Our overall experience with Drake Tax has been wonderful. Once you get past the huge learning curve of the many options and “outdated” interface the software is an immensely powerful tool.

Great customer service, fairly easy to use and administer, diagnostic feedback and information is very helpful.

When I did pay, it created a new portal that wrote over my existing portal. I lost 7 years of tax docs for client who uploaded directly in the portal.

Drake simply says "error on schedule. Drake does not explain the error and at times Drake references a form that is not even available on the Drake software.

I love how easy this program is to use. I was able to sit down and start entering return information immediately without  much training.

The software is inexpensive and a great value for the price.

For the money, Drake Tax offers more value compared to competitors. It's certainly not the worst.

Navigation is cumbersome with multiple inputs needed for some tasks and other screens are hidden and have to be searched for so entries can be made and then some of the input screens are very limited.

So far the only thing I do not like is that I am still not a pro at it. I have to continue to look at the cheat sheet for shortcuts.

Drake has an ATX conversion program which I tried on 2019 and it brought over some large asset lists correctly so I took the plunge.

The built in integration with a document manager which automatically creates client folder structures when a new client is added is also handy.

Consistency between modules of the program is excellent. I love the jump to option when you are reviewing the forms in the program.

The few things that Lacerte does much better than the others is the state integration, K-1 export/import and Kiddie tax integration (no separate input needed). The K-1 auto export/import is amazing.

My biggest complaint with Lacerte Tax would be all of the updates that it requires & the glitches that happen if not updated when each update is available.

I feel like it updates almost every time I login which takes quite a bit of time. Sometimes I get unknown errors and glitches which can be very annoying especially in tax season.

Also, if you stop paying for new software you can’t efile returns for past years that you did already pay for.

You can see a comparative to the market sector worksheet which is very useful. Diagnostics are simple to understand and correct.

I started using Lacerte as a recent college graduate, and I caught on very quickly to how all of the input screens work. It is also very helpful with all of the diagnostics it provides.

I also really like its customization options and integration.

Lacerte has no option to suppress the printing of the vouchers unless you suppress the printing of the estimated tax schedule on the client letter.
