Drake tax for its value was one of the easiest tax softwares to navigate. It heightened efficiency and is great all around.
The software itself is very easy to follow along with a tax return. Like things are located on each tab which allows for high efficiency. If there are any questions the customer support is very very helpful.
Needs to update items that carryforoward a little better

There is a reason DrakeTax is the #1 Professional tax software in the US. It does an amazing job.
I really love the worksheets feature, it is integrated so nicely and really helps me keep track of my work. The integration with the TaxBook is also very helpful!
DrakeTax has a learning curve as it is not set up interview style, you have to know what you are doing and where to go. It also is outdated visually, it reminds me of a windows program from the 90's or early 00's.I wish the pay-per-return feature was available for corporate returns.

not great. The lack of communication made me unaware of returns that were not filed and it cost me hundred in penalties. When I called customer service the supervisor was extremely rude, antagonizing, impatient, and refused to take any responsibility for the errors.
It is User Friendly and customer service is available with little or no hold time.
Communication with e-filing. The acknowledgments can be inaccurate or misleading which leads to confusion on the returns actually being filed. this caused some of the returns to be late and such clients incurred penalties which we had to reimburse them for.

I like the fact that the information rolls over from prior year. I can file personal and business returns. After the tax season, returns are free.
Pricing, if I don't want the unlimited, I order 10 return submissions then add as I need. State filing is included.

Overall, I like Drake Tax so far. There is a learning curve as the system is complex and takes time to adjust to. They provide practice returns to process in order to get use to the system before filing actual returns for clients. Their support team is attentive and you will typically receive a response when contacting them, within a day or so. Most of all, their price is extremely affordable compared to other professional tax softwares out there (literally, about 1/3 the cost of other well-known programs!). This is my first tax season with Drake, so I cannot say too much yet but after going through many practice returns, I am certainly starting to get the hang of it, but I know that if I need help, they are only a call or email away!
The price is unbeatable, the customer support is very attentive and responsive, software gives you a message page with potential errors and solutions prior to filing.
To a first time user of the software, it can seem extremely complex. Many options and can take time to learn navigation. Does not support Mac (I had to download specific software to run windows software on my Mac in order to use Drake.
