Not a great tool for financial forecasting or tracking future income and bills.

It takes several minutes to update the accounts once the web-based UI is invoked.

If you input your checking and credit card accounts into Mint, Mint will analyze your purchases and categorize your spending (Groceries, Restaurants, Clothing, Gas & Fuel, Fast Food, Movies & DVDs, Alcohol & Bars, and Coffee Shops), and help you stay within predetermined budgets you've set for each category.

There will always be months of overspending and months of underspending... and everyone's "income" is a bit variable (monetary gifts, product returns, etc).

I could link it with my bank accounts easily, and it displays the amounts in all the various accounts nicely categorized and quickly refreshed.

With all the integrations with my banking app and other financial tools, i am often concerned the security of my data.

Mint is a helpful piece of software if you're looking to centralize all of your financial accounts (checking, savings, credit cards, loans, retirement, investments, etc.) in one place.

The budgeting aspect of mint does not match the reality of how people "really" budget.

Mint always tries to nudge you to apply for a new financial service (like a new credit card or loan).

This platform takes all of your spending and shows you where your money is going.

Being one of the first groups to do this, almost all financial accounts can be linked to mint.  

My only complaint is the categories of my spending are sometimes wrong, and it's a hassle to go back and change the categories so the data visualization tools such as the pie chart displays correct information.

User-friendly interface: Mint has a clean and easy-to-use interface that makes navigating and understanding our financial information simple.

You just connect your debit and credit cards and then Mint categorizes and keeps track of your bills and expenses.
