What we liked least about Sage Accounting was its limited functionality for not-for-profit–specific needs. It is possible to connect to all your bank accounts and credit cards for automatic conciliation, always keeping track of your expenses.

It would be nice to have edit capabilities to change dates of payment received, and reporting needs to be expanded to include sub-categories so that the parent/child relationship can be reported on and filtered once exported.

The best part of Sage is the banking connections. Although they sometimes disconnect, the ability to load in transactions drastically reduces the administrative load of bookkeeping.

The financial report are clear as like, generating Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Trial balance and Cash Flow statement just a few click.

Returns/refunds are confusing and writing stock off for store use is also a little difficult, as you need to open two tabs and search each item individually for their cost.

I also like being able to upload invoices, it really helps keep the books up to date without spending ages typing everything in.

It has been a positive experience that allows me to enter transactions and produce within excel a formatted financial statement for the 15 member board every month and the year end for the AGM report.
