Great learning curve, even if you never used something similar it will be easy to learn. Based on Priority which means you'll fell right at home if you ever used a priority based software.
Not much functions for the basic version, we are missing support for serial numbers but for us it is not worth it to buy the add-on.

As a small business our main priority is to keep our monthly book keeping tasks simple and quick. Since moving to Xero from MYOB we have found a significant reduction in our book keeping time input. We are NOT accountants or book keeping experts and Xero as an accounting system has definitely made this part of our business much more efficient. We are guided by our accountant as how best to use the software and have been able to develop a simple client - accountant relationship with Xero being the main conduit of information between us.
As a small business we found Xero to be a simple and very cost effective solution for all our accounting - book keeping needs. Xero is very easy to set up with your accountant and reduces the time you need to spend on book keeping tasks each month. With automatic bank feeds the time we need to reconcile our accounts each month is minimal. The audit trail features mean any issues that arise can be quickly found and fixed. Being able to notate any transactions enables our accountant to quickly respond to our queries. As a small business keeping our external accountant costs down is very important to us and by using Xero means the time our accountant has to actually spend on our accounts is less and therefore so are the invoices we receive from him!
Some of the automatic accounts Xero suggests you reconcile to are not correct so it is important to double check each transaction before reconciling. We had issues setting up some of the automatic bank feeds and still have one bank account that will not process the feeds so we need to enter those transactions manually. When uploading a file of transactions we also had some issues and found it quicker just to manually enter them into the software.

I really wish that Xero had better customer support because we liked the layout of the program. The price was also reasonable. For businesses that do not feel that live support is necessary or do not feel that customer support is a top priority, then I would recommend Xero. I know that if Xero had better customer support, we would still be with them.
When we opened our medical practice earlier this year, our IT consultant told us about Xero and I understand why he recommended we use it. The setup process was quick and easy. The interface is really clean and visually appealing. As someone who has worked with other accounting software programs, I found Xero to quite intuitive. It is very comparable to the top rated & most popular accounting software programs and in some ways outperforms others in its available tools and more advanced functions.
Hands down, the customer support. Xero doesn't have the option to speak to a live person with questions, issues, concerns, etc. and doesn't have a phone number listed. You can "Start a Discussion" which allows you to submit questions to the "Xero Community." The only other option is to "Get in Touch" which allows you to email customer support. The amount of information found in the "Xero Community" is overwhelming, often confusing/unhelpful, and is even contradictory at times. While I appreciate being able to email customer support, it wasn't convenient to wait & deal with the back-and-forth. This just didn't work for us unfortunately and we recently switched to a different program.

Solid and simple cloud accounting solution that is easy to navigate and customise. Great that our external accountants and legal support can access online as they need. Seems to be continuously evolving and its reassuring to see ongoing development of the product.
Customisable dashboard is a time saver and ability to customise templates helps with consistency for our company branding. Customisation of user permissions means the bonus of staff being able to enter their own expenses which is a further time saver. Being able to work across multiple currencies now is a plus, albeit I wish we could manually adjust exchange rates being used.
Many advanced features that are standard for longer established accounting software solutions are available, but as "bolt on" packages, so costs can escalate quickly if you need full "bells and whistles". Customer service response can be very slow compared to other cloud software providers we use - in the beginning they were responsive for engagement but over time they're clearly pushing all customers...

Generally, this software is great and I would recommend that you look at this software when choosing an accounting software.
Xero has great training and customer service. The ease of use and the ability to get trained and work quickly is a big advantage. Xero can be a great option over QBO and pricing is good.
I had a client who lives in Missouri and had employees, I could not just use Xero because that state was not available at the time. Of course, there was an app I could use. The client did not like that he had to pay for an additional service. If you have food industry clients there is not a good app for food inventory for restaurants.

The bank screen is a little narrow and I would like the option to have more than 10 items on the screen at one time

So far, I didn't encounter yet any problems with this software. This is recommendable software!
The software is easy to access to any other apps to use for tracking income expenses, and other finance aspects.
I just need to open the software to use instead of a manual spreadsheet. It doesn't consume your time because it's easy to use!

This software is cheaper than other higher quality software.
The quality of the software is not great. It is very easy to have errors and mistakes. There aren't many safeguards to stop this from happening. It also does not have very good reports.

Overall quite happy with this software but like every software it isn't perfect but gets the job done.
Easy to maneuver and find what you are looking for. Ability to have multiple entities linked to the one account, for example a subsidiary or management company.
Customer service or lack thereof. Reporting functionality is not great, you can get some add ons to Google Sheets that work but you also need to pay for those in addition.

I'm looking for new software.
Product is easy to use when it works. It's constantly not working though,
When you need help they only way to get ahold of customer service is thru their online portal. Expect to wait hours, days and even weeks to get a response. Don't hold your breath that the response will resolve your issues.

It has been a very essential software for our day to day services which will enable us to maintain accounts and taxes properly.
The learning hub which will provide all the updates and guide us the path to maintain our Xero certificate. Then the customer help which will make easy to get the questions clarified quickly. When it comes to the accounting perspective it is an awesome software to maintain the accounts and plan on the taxes in a easy way.
All of the aspects in this software is very useful so nothing to like least in this software

Best accounting software for small businesses
Xero has lots of report customization options and reporting tools, and can be use on mobile app. Xero also support tons of apps, more than a thousand. it has no free plan but it is one of the cheapest cloud-based accounting software in the market

I'd rate this software 7/10.
One of the best accounting software including basic Inventory management, automated bill and receipt capturing. Nice functionality in reconciling bank accounts.
No live phone support, limited processing on bills and invoicing.

When I used it, it was very simple to use. My primary complaint is when I left Xero in favor of Quickbooks. The process was beyond painful.
Xero is easy to use and is widely adopted. It has a nice UI and quite a few different integrations that make keeping it updated easier.
Changing accounting software from Xero is a horrible experience. They make it very difficult to pivot to other software.

This is a cloud based accounting software. It is extremely easy to use and the customer support and software updates are top notch. I have used this software in the past for a small business and I wouldn't recommend any other software.
The cost is comparable to quickbooks online and so can be a hard choice to make between the two

Reliable + intuitive accounting software that just works.
Has been an intuitive experience. Able to reconcile transactions quickly and bank feeds are reliable (no need to reconnect type issues). Quick rules to auto-classify recurring transactions are nice time saver.
Not many concerns. Wish there was an annual discount. But overall serves our needs without problems.

I cannot recommend this product, if you needed to contact support for an urgent request you are more than likely going to be left completely unoperational.
An easy to use software that provides good basic features. Software is usually trouble free.
Customer support is virtually non existent. You need to navigate to an online form and once submitted you wait with no acknowledgement that your request has even been received. Wait time is measured in days - 3 days it took before our last support request was answered and then it was obvious the support case worker had very little understanding to the issue raised which. Powerful accounting software but still relatively easy to use compared to other accounting software, They also have a large ecosystem of 3rd party integrations.
Much easier to use than Quickbooks but still provides powerful accounting and bookkeeping features. Also offers more integrations than Quickbooks, which tends to wall off their software for the most part to keep you in their ecosystem. Provides a good balance of invoicing, expense tracking and accounting capabilities.
For some reason they still lack recurring payments on invoices, which keeps me using Freshbooks for invoicing. While it's easy to use, if you have never used accounting software, there is still a learning curve involved.

Solid alternative to any leading accounting software.
Xero overs over 500+ integrations that make any business owner's life easier, while allowing their business to run much more smoothly. The ease of use and learning curve are far superior to most of the competitors. If you are big on customer support, Xero will not disappoint.
While Xero does offer a mobile app, it could definitely use some work. Also, software updates seem to be few and far between.
