Pros

The trainer was also fantastic. This is geared towards mental health and they do an amazing job with every mental health inventory imaginable.
I have been using Valant software for over a year now and it is has saved me a large amount of time with the awesome reporting features that come with the software.
I like that I learned how to navigate around certain functions and once I learned that I could apply that to all other aspects of running through the EMR. The clinical summary of the note is great.

Pros

I like the fact that we no longer have to have paper files, ease of use overall and some of the features like appointment reminders, the ability to create and add your own documents.
This software is richly featured. I've appreciated the ability to create very sophisticated custom online intake forms, and and the autopay enrollment for automated batch credit card billings.
I am appreciate of the customer service that is prompt with response. The software has amazing training videos that assists with new users like myself.

Cons

Customer service is severely lacking, especially their accounting department, who will never answer the phone or call you back if you need to dispute a charge.
Horrific customer service and dishonest leadership team.
From a provider perspective, trying to document has been a nightmare in the new platform too. This software isn't 2015 certified either which has resulted in problems with one of our payers.

Cons

I have struggled most with billing—getting cards to not charge for missed appointments. Reminders have occasionally caught me off guard—either they went out too many times or not enough.
This annoyed me because my time is very valuable and I specifically set aside the time for my training and no one bothered to alert me that it had been canceled.
My main complaint is that I have had trouble getting someone on the phone when I have an issue. They do tend to respond by email quickly but sometimes I would prefer a phone conversation.

EHR for private practice

Pros

Everything you need to run a practice is available and very well done. Once you learn your way around it becomes easier to navigate. There are many different options and lots of information in the help section if you need help. It's streamlined for complete (100%) EHR functionality. Smooth integrations for payment. I love the HIPAA compliant messaging in the patient portal and the calendar scheduling options for patients to see your schedule and choose a time without needing to call the office for an appointment. The awesome feature of video sessions without the need to use another company or software.

Cons

I find the navigational structure very awkward and not user friendly. It's kind of frustrating to figure out where things are because things aren't in a logical order. For better ease of use I would recommend that everything is clearly delineated into one menu structure rather than submenus and tab menus. For example: one could easily assume that client documents could be found in the left "Documents" menu link, but unfortunately that link is only for practitioner documents (uploading a copy of license, etc.). To find client documents you have to remember that you need to click "My Account" in the upper right corner, then the "Settings" submenu, then on the left side the "Client Portal" and then find the tab menu "Shared Documents and Files". It just a very strange link menu system.

Pros

I truly appreciate the ease of use in managing client information. This EHR is comprehensive, user friendly, and does everything needed for a private practice. I wish I had started with this EHR.

Cons

The Wiley Treatment planner is not as comprehensive as it is in TherapyCharts for some reason. It also does not code exactly as stated as the DSM-V, but I'm sure we will get used to it and adjust.

Efficiency in streamlining my communication with my clients.

Pros

I am moving from paper to EHR and I took time to research a platform that would suite my solo practice. After researching, reading reviews and tinkering a bit through the trial, I decided to subscribe and I am looking forward to saving time and building efficiency in my practice.

Cons

It does take time to invest in learning how to utilize its features to maximize it's usefulness, but the investment will be worth it in the long run.

Time management, client reminders, paperless document flow, EHR.

Pros

Scheduling and setting up automatic appointment reminders to clients is very easy. Allows for auto-pay with credit cards. Easy to manage progress notes, diagnoses, treatment plans. Easy to create form templates and have clients e-sign paperwork.

Cons

Needs better family therapy functionality, minors with multiple consenting adults functionality, and a better interface for managing and viewing uploaded documents.

Relievex!

I was worried about having to come up with all my documents from scratch but with the format that simple practice gives you where you're able to edit or just go with the form that they have has been amazingly helpful! There have been issues that I've had to work out, but the support was always there and described in full detail how to get around blocking me. I really like the client portal and how my clients can go in and schedule without having to get in contact with me and fill out documents so that we don't have to waste session time on that.

Pros

I was so relieved when I realized I would have so many features that would help my new Private Practice through simple practice. The issues that I've had I've been able to discuss in detail with customer service who are always friendly and helpful. It truly has made starting my practice simple!

Cons

So far I haven't come up with anything that is a con about this EHR!

Have had difficulty in being able to create new forms/templates. Have watched training video and it is not working like I would hope. Plan to contact someone soon to figure out why it is not working

great for streamlining business

Had left for a year and returned when practice was growing. Found it easy to leap right back in, use the software and not have a steep learning curve.

Pros

Ease of use, both for therapist and client. The recent additions of secure messaging and now video conferencing are a huge boon for growing tele-therapy business and helping the client feel supported. The established forms are great to use completely or to start you off with creating your own.

Cons

It'd be great to have more options for uploading information if previously using other services than an established EHR.

Picked Simple Practice in hopes of an all in one EHR that is user friendly and reasonably priced.

Pros

Seems like a user friendly set up. Still working out the kinks due to the differences of the last EHR we used.

Cons

Compared to the last EHR there seems to be a lot more options, which could be wonderful, if I actually used them all. A simplified patient chart for review instead of multiple pages that I have to click back and forth on to see what has or needs to be done.

Simple as can be

I am happy to use Simple Practice. It makes sense, it keeps EHR simple, clean, and functional.

Pros

I like the set price per month, the ability to utilize teletherapy, and ease of the program. No hidden fees or concerns found. I tried a few different programs before I decided on Simple Practice. This EHR system seemed the cleanest, simplest, user friendly. Client portal is a plus as well. I love the ability to create forms and save templates that I need most often.

Cons

The most challenging issue with the program is the inability to call customer service with questions. The program is pretty easy without having to call in with questions. I see the ability to have a scheduled time with a representative, I haven't had to use this feature yet.

The name of the software says it all.

Overall, I find Simple Practice to be just that, simple. It has all manner of features that I do not employ nor does it force me to jump through hoops I don't require. I might well use some of the bells and whistles at some point but the ease of doing just what I need to do in minimal time is it's major selling point for my practice.

Pros

The EHR is simple, uncomplicated, and lets me get my work documented without fuss or having to click through various pages to record progress notes. Also, the names in the calendar appear as first, and last, as opposed to some gibberish assigned to each patient that I am forced to remember as my former EHR software required.

Cons

The setting of the appointment time I find to be clunky. It defaults to the current time, which means I have to scroll to the correct time when I make an appointment for the patient. Yes, a minor issue but I wish there was some other way to ascribe an appointment time. I frequently return appointment requests in the evening. having the calendar time default to a PM time is a minor issue but I'm not fond of it. A minor quibble, but I need to be careful or I schedule someone for 8:00 PM when it should have been a morning appointment. I'll get used to it I am sure.

Price Gauged Solo Practitioners!

The last year has not been a good experience and in the process of looking for another EHR.

Pros

All the features it has the ability to give a practice.

Cons

Have been using for many years. Always felt it was a great value. Over the past year or so they have added features that are not necessary and things most therapists already have (EG websites, directory, forms). They have officially raised their prices which is understandable; however, the drastic increase that went from a basic feature (such as calendar syncing) or an added biller is only available on their most expensive tier package. They essentially are forcing many providers to increase paying them over $30 more a month or having to switch the EHR software. It makes sense to add more options but to make a lot of options "basic" that are not used by most of us to charging a lot more for solo practitioners is highly disheartening.

Pros

I signed up for the free trial, as I am new to EHR systems. Simple Practice made it easy for me to learn how to use an EHR. I really like that I can use my own forms, send/sign them electronically, and keep things paperless. Everything is streamlined for an efficiently running a private practice.

Cons

I haven't found anything I don't like at this point. I think Simple Practice has taken a lot of feedback given by others into consideration when updating this system and am happy to see it continues to evolve.

Amazing EHR platform

Pros

Simple Practice is super easy to use. I can custom the forms the way I want it and their customizing template feature is user friendly. I higly recommend Simple Practice if you want to save time on scheduling, doing notes, and getting paid fast.

Cons

The cost is a bit higher compared to other EHR platforms. However, because it is very easy to use, I think it is worth it.

Simple & Supportive

During the trial period I received emails checking on my progress and if I had any questions. That was helpful. Also, it was easy to navigate.

Pros

I like the ability to customize my intakes and having a client portal. Also, I like they already have examples and templates, so that you are not starting from scratch.

Cons

It took a moment to get use to the system, as I was using another EHR system that I was use to. Otherwise no complaints.

Pros

Simplicity of charting; ease of use; and no need to backup.

Cons

If it's possible, it has too many functions. The price is fairly steep compared to my last EHR program but it appears to be worth it.

Excellent!

Pros

I like being able to have all EHR stored in the same place and be able to share documents with clients as well as file insurance claims.

Cons

Not applicable. I’m happy with this service so far.
