Great idea, but not worth the price or the hassle with the details missed. Switched from ADP due to cost, had issues with Paylocity through onboarding, switched from Paylocity to ADP due to hassle and cost. Tax issues were discovered much later and took over a year to resolve. Received the run around for many months.
Awesome features for employee engagement and employer cheerleading.
The price. Way too expensive for what it is. Onboarding issues. Didn’t retrieve all the information needed and missed some employees. Tax issues. Didn’t file taxes for a quarter. We received invoice with penalty and interest. Had to fight with them to get it paid.

Perhaps Paylocity has improved since my agency last used this software for time management, but between ADP and Paylocity, I prefer ADP.
For the most part, this software was easy to use (back when my agency used it).
For the most part it was easy to use, but there were so many issues I would have with my time tracking and time off.

Love this vs. Workforce ADP. Seems easier to navigate and a better color scheme
Seems to ask for 2-factor authentication every time I log in from the same PC. Not sure why

This is the best HCM software that I've used compared to ADP, Sage Abra, Paychex, and PlanSource.
The ease of use is great, the software is so user friendly and easy to learn.
There are a couple of functionalities that I wish we had within the system and that the report write tool would be easier to use.

I love and understand this program better then ADP or any other program I've used thus far for payroll.
The program is easy to use and understand.
That it times out after a while if not used

Great. It is quick and easy and always available.
It’s super easy to get paycheck information. No multiple clicks and confusing screens. Used ADP in the past and took hours to find simple information.
Nothing. I haven’t used lots of features but the one I use is great. I don’t have anything negative to say.

Paylocity has enabled our organization to export very complex and detailed GL import files for the payroll journal entries. No other payroll software we looked at (Paychex, ADP, Quickbooks) offered functionality that even came close. Furthermore, they post the charges and refunds to our bank in bulk charges (by payroll) which makes the reconciles much easier and the tying out of the transactions to the payroll Journal Entry quick and easy. In my experience with ADP for example, there were hundreds of transactions that would hit the bank and I would end up calling customer support almost every payroll to determine what the charges were actually for.
Creating custom reports can be, at times, more confusing than I would like. That said, I have successfully created many custom reports and a lot of the difficulty is due to the number of earning, tax, and deduction codes that we have (164+ different types of earning, taxes, and other deductions).

Love it. At prior company, looked at switching to Paylocity, but decision was made to remain on ADP. Super glad when found out new company was using Paylocity. Switching support center with ADP was a hassle, and adding CA was difficult. But with Paylocity adding a new state/location was easy. Adding time and labor tracking took a few months.
the support team assisting a small company is awesome! The ability to add features was easier when compared to alternatives. Employee mobile use for paychecks and for entering time is great.
need to switch from time and labor and had to push over time to HR and PAYROLL is a step and is not as smooth as I was hoping. The gps limitation/Geolocation is hit and miss when trying to limit where an employee can enter time.

Everyone in HR and senior management is disappointed with Paylocity compared to what they thought they were getting when they switched from ADP and Bamboo HR.
Checks a lot of the boxes our company had for needed features.
Our HR folks are constantly complaining about issues with payroll accuracy, QuickBooks integration errors, and late tax payments/reports. I have constant log-in problems with Chrome, Edge, and Firefox -- hope to resolve by implementing SSO.

Overall it's good.
Product is pretty easy to use. Payroll processing is much easier to use than ADP and Paychex. Mobile app is solid for the most part. Easy to request time off via mobile.
There is almost too much! It makes it difficult to find stuff because there is too much. I wish the mobile app had some other items.

Ease of use for remote managers/departments Reporting: Stock report library is fairly comprehensive and custom report writer works well to fill any specific needs No additional charges for updates such as the ACA tracking and reporting system.
No integrated 401k/retirement module. This requires manual data entry unlike the ADP/MyKplan where everything is linked and managed almost entirely through the core P/R module as far as weekly/biweekly contributions. The onboarding process was bumpy at best. The files needed from ADP (our former P/R processor) to proceed with the conversion were not spelled out as clearly as they should have been. Once we got up and running the experience improved.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. There is a lot of room for improvement. I've seen better ones.
There is Favorite category I like a lot. I can put my most used reports under there and run them on a regular basis.
You can only see 3 at most 4 reports at a time. Not as user-friendly. I would like to see a true quarterly report which captures all QTD numbers by all employees, not per payroll run. i.e. if one employee leaves in January, I should be able to run an end-of-March report to see this employee's gross pay for the 1st quarter, so the first quarter number of employees and gross pay will be correctly counted.

This is a great app to use from a computer or a phone.
My company uses Paylocity for payroll and time off/vacation tracking. It is user-friendly in every aspect. I can easily access information about my bi-weekly pay, sign up for paperless stubs, request for time-off, and keep track of my vacation days. I especially like using the Paylocity app from my phone, also very user-friendly.
I have not run in to any challenges when using paylocity.

Very overpriced for what we used it for (20 employees), but I could see how it could be a decent payroll option for a much larger company.
There is a wide variety of things you can generate within the reporting fields.
The reporting fields seem almost impossible to run due to their complexity. I would have needed an hour of training just to learn how to run reports and I have been running payroll for a decade.

THE WORST service & features. Spend more & save more in the long run, I promise
Onboarding is nice to have, I really like this module, just wish there was more we could do with it. We are still limited and having to use outside software to do things we thought we could do with this system.
The service is terrible, from the sales process, through implementation to several months in . Lack of Features, lacking BASIC features. & there is no hope on the rise. We have had to run so much outside of this system.

Overall, we are very pleased with Paylocity. We've tried all the big ones (ADP, Paychex, etc) but have never had great experiences with those companies. Paylocity takes care of our every payroll need and reports tax information to the government accurately and timely on our behalf.
Paylocity makes processing payroll easy. I process payroll for 6 entities and Paylocity makes this an easy task by allowing data imports from POS systems for some locations and time & labor tracking within Paylocity for others. Additionally, all onboarding is done within Paylocity so no need for paperwork or saving employee legal documents outside of Paylocity.
Sometime customer service can be hard to reach for questions but they do eventually get back to you with resources.

I liked the features of Paylocity was a hybrid of Paychex and ADP together, yet so much simpler to use. The implementation was quick and a seamless process, unlike any other payroll implementation I have ever encountered. They truly build the platforms with you so you have a great understanding of the product.
There isn't much I can say negatively about Paylocity. I truly liked the functionality of the program.

Overall the experience was very positive. Payroll was able to run quickly and smoothly. Reporting was good.
Employee self service navigator, PTO tracking and turnover reporting were great tools. Overall paylocity is cost effective solution.
Customer support was not always the most responsive when we inquired about customized solutions, API integrations or reporting.

The software is very intuitive. I could have someone run a payroll even if they had never been in Paylocity with minimal instruction.
Writing a brand new custom reports can be difficult. However, editing/modifying existing reports is easy.
