The system integrates with smart lock cloud APIs to receive real-time unlock events. When an employee unlocks a door, the event is captured and processed by the attendance engine, calculating work hours, breaks, overtime, and tardiness. Each lock is assigned to locations (offices, warehouses, job sites). The system tracks which employees access which doors, with records including timestamp, employee ID, lock ID, unlock method, and location.

It calculates work hours based on first unlock (clock-in) and last unlock (clock-out) each day. Its configurable grace periods handle early arrivals and late departures and break detection algorithms identify extended absences during work hours. Users can create work schedules including fixed hours, rotating shifts, flexible time, or custom configurations and assign to individuals, departments, or entire organization with automatic flagging of late arrivals and early departures.
