would recommend this app

Pros

The thing I like the most is the ease of use of software and the amount of awesome features that is included with the software.
The pros of this product is that it is extremely great for creating projects, especially when using a MAC. I highly recommend Apple products as it works best for designing.
You are able to make beautiful and stunning illustrations for your social media posts or any posters. You can edit any symbol, picture etc with it.

Pros

I have been able to draw a lot and draw much more quickly thanks to the available assets so my creative workflow has improved greatly with this software.
On top of the quality of the default brushes and tools in this application, there is also an entire community's worth of assets within the program itself that you can download and use.
This software is a great alternative to Procreate, it does have a large learning curve but once you set it up the way you like it has such a nice flow to it.

Cons

The bummer about Adobe is that you can no longer purchase the software as a one-off. Now it’s a subscription that you have to pay monthly or yearly and the fees are quite hefty.
I think most of the frustration comes with user error and not doing enough research on the current subject.
On rare occasions, the app will stall or close down altogether. This could be a flaw with either the application itself or the system I'm using it on.

Cons

I just really hate that Ipad/Android version has no one-time purchase plan just like the PC. Also, when I tried to use it on a tablet, I find it very confusing and way more complex than on a PC.
Recently, Clip Studio had an update that distressed many of its users because it stated they would be changing their payment method to a subscription service.
Otherwise, I really don't have much to complain about.

Excellent support for multiple vector image formats

Reviewed 5 years ago

I use Adobe Illustrator to open vector graphics (generally from a clip art library) and placing them into logos, and sometimes manipulating those vector graphics directly. I've been able to open every piece of clip art I've tried, which is excellent.

Pros

Adobe Illustrator is excellent for opening vector image formats, and editing those vectors directly.

Cons

The tools are difficult to use in Adobe Illustrator. I have problems making bezier curves, which require two or three clicks to make a shape.

Vector Over Pixels

Reviewed 5 years ago

Live Paint has made creating line-art so much easier, and vector is so much cleaner than pixels.

Pros

Illustrator has made it easier for me to work on Oil and Gas Line-art at work, and Animation cells for personal projects thanks to tools like Live Paint and it's ease of use.

Cons

Vector itself can have a learning curve (no pun intended) if you've never used it, and the software itself doesn't go completely out of it's way to teach you (There is help in the help menu though.)

Make Nice Signs

I love Adobe Illustrator because it makes clean vector images- perfect for signs.

Pros

If you have to make signs, the quality of the sign looks better than if you used Word or Paint. More options.

Cons

It takes a long time to learn the short cuts, and where everything is in the menus. Adobe cloud now has videos to guide you though.

Illustrator is the perfect platform to design logos, or taglines that need refined letter placement

Reviewed 6 years ago

Easy logo design. The ability to edit and modify clip art (vector) for other uses. It's just a must have for any designer.

Pros

I love it's ability to manipulate type, and now you can do that with or without outlines. The pathfinder tool allows you to easily create new shapes to make precise designs. I've been working with this program for 20+ years and it just gets better and better.

Cons

When you add gradients to type, you still have to convert them to outlines in order to see the gradient effect. One would thing this would have been resolved by now. You can do it in InDesign without converting.

Best for Vector Imaging

Reviewed 5 years ago

It is almost impossible to create quality vector imaging and do graphic design work without Illustrator. I highly recommend over free products offered such as SketchUp or Paint.

Pros

Illustrator is essentially unrivaled when combined with Creative Cloud in the graphic design world. We use illustrator for every new icon, logo, image, etc that needs to be used in order to create vectors that are clear and compatible at every size. The best feature is the ability to import and trace images from Photoshop.

Cons

Learning some of the features may be difficult - we start all of our employees out with Adobe's online forums to learn all the necessary features such as trace and pen tool - once those are established everything is pretty straightforward.

Overall i've had a positive experience with Illustrator, although i lean more towards programs like Photoshop.

Pros

Cons

Great for illustrators but a bit expensive

Reviewed 5 years ago

We have been successfully using it at the studio for about 5 years

Pros

It's great for Illustrators in video game development. We have been using it successfully at the company for years and can't find a better tool.

Cons

Adobe should update their subscription model. In order to get Illustrator you need at least a 20USD a month subscription. That may be fine for users whose primary role is working for Illustrator, but we also have a bunch of developers that may need to open Illustrator just to export in a different format or resize a sprite. To put it in perspective: for about 10 USD I can watch all the movies and shows I want in netflix, or pay half of Illustrator to be able to resize a few sprites....

The most amazing drawing app EVER!

Reviewed 4 years ago

CSP is the software that I recommend daily to all artist around me. I am a professional illustrator and after I started using Clip Studio Paint I forgot about all Adobe software. Everything is easier, smoother, better in CSP !

Pros

I don't like this app. I LOVE IT! I am happy that someone finally made an app that is light and fast. It doesn't make your computer die. In the same time it has all the useful tool of other aps + some original, very creative tools that I've seen only in CSP. I love that the software is so affordable too!

Cons

I never had any issues with the software. however a couple years ago I lost my serial key and had to contact the support team to recover it for me. I don't know if this is the way Japanese support usually behaves, but they didn't feel very friendly at all. Not that they were rude, but they weren't kind and friendly as many other apps support people are. That said, I need to mention that they DID solve my problem. It took long though.

Clip Studio Paint

The Artist's Friend

Reviewed a year ago

Clip Studio Paint makes my artistic process so much easier. I don't have to worry about my shaky hand making my lineart look unpolished because the pen stabilization helps keep my art neat. I have been able to draw a lot and draw much more quickly thanks to the available assets so my creative workflow has improved greatly with this software.

Pros

Clip Studio Paint is an intuitive program that is easy to learn. It has an abundance of user-made assets and tools available to the artist that can be customized within the software. It works well with 3d models, has easy data import and export, and it can save as a .PSD. The pen stabilization and symmetry tools make drawing neatly for those with shaky hands a breeze. Clip Studio Paint cuts my time spent sketching and finalizing my lineart in half so I can focus on perfecting the smaller details on my drawing.

Cons

The vector drawings don't save as "true" or "editable" vectors if you need to send the vector image to someone who works with Adobe Illustrator or another similar program. It is difficult to export a vector illustration into other software because many of the editing points will disappear. It is also difficult to maintain your layers when exporting your project for use in Adobe Photoshop.

Cool software for digital painting

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is quite a good software, very powerful, has many capabilities and does many of the things my ideal software would do. Great brushes but hard to find good ones outside of the program. It is one of the best alternatives to Photoshop.

Pros

I am tired of the Adobe slavery and wanted something that offered similar possibilities for an accessible price. I am not able to afford Adobe constant upgrades and subscriptions and Clip Studio offered a one-time payment package that was ideal for me. The software is easy to learn although not so intuitive, and it has all the elements I need to produce my illustrations without having to go back to Photoshop.

Cons

They recently reverted to a subscription model which was the thing that attracted me to them in the first place.

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall experience is very Amazing and impressive about its options and animation tools are unbelievable. It,s overall experience is very good.

Pros

In this software we can work on both 3D and 2D projects . Its pen pressure is much better than Adobe Photoshop. It's color output is Amazing. It's files are not too much big in storage. It is amazing in animation because its animation panel is very nice. It's also good on 3d texturing and Animagion

Cons

The only one bad thing is, it's workspace window is not very good and tools panel are average.

Why Clip Studio is my favorite digital art software

Reviewed a year ago

All in all, the Clip Studio Paint program is a fantastic resource for digital artists, offering an impressive suite of default tools and brushes, as well as a vast online library of user-created assets. With an impressive variety of brushes, as well as the ability to customize and create your own, Clip Studio Paint provides artists with a wide array of textured options to give their work a unique and realistic feel. Whether you want to make something that looks like a traditional oil painting or a modern digital drawing, Clip Studio Paint gives you the tools to achieve it!

Pros

Whether you're just starting out in digital art or you're a seasoned professional, Clip Studio can provide a rich array of tools and resources to suit your needs. I genuinely like this program a lot, as I have used it for several years now. With the variety of tools available, you can take your artwork in any direction that you desire. If you’re creating comics, concept art, illustrations, or anything...

Cons

Recently, Clip Studio had an update that distressed many of its users because it stated they would be changing their payment method to a subscription service. This concerned myself and many others because one of the main appeals of Clip Studio is that it is much more affordable than other digital art software. As an example, Adobe Photoshop is much more expensive and widely used by professional artists,...

Clip Studio Paint

My favorite Drawing software to get the job done.

Reviewed 3 years ago

I just love working with CSP, it's a great tool for illustration, from conceptualizing to exporting the final piece. There are some features that I cannot live without anymore, and it's just a joy to use this software to create my art. The animation features are also great, but there might be more capable 2D software out there, but it will get the job done. I still use other software depending on the job I need to perform (Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop and Rebelle), but CSP is my number one tool when I sit in front of my Cintiq. Highly recommended if you want a reliable and fully featured art software.

Pros

Fully featured illustration, and 2D animation software. Stable and can handle big files like a champ. Great set of tools for coloring and paining. Online storage of 10GB and assets that can be easily downloaded and used to make your life easier. Updates bring more features and tools, so it's constantly improving.

Cons

Not sure if I have any, other than I wish I started using it earlier.
