If you already work with Jira it's a no brainer decision. Works better and it's cheaper.
Cheaper and better than Github. Awesome integration with Jira and Trello. And the smart commits feature make's the workflow with Jira really smooth for our developers.
I can't find one. Maybe they could improve the markdown just like Gitlab that have a much richer markdown system, the "GitLab Flavored Markdown".

Good, but limited, I ended up switching to gitlab.
Easy to use; Easy to Share code with other people. Integrates with JIRA. Private repositories unlimited;
Not as rounded or as complete as Gitlab. There is a learning curve to the UI and user management tools.

L'interfaccia è molto intuitiva, sono presenti funzionalità comuni a GitHub e GitLab.
Non mi da l'impressione di essere ben arricchito di funzionalità come GitHub.

We were looking for a Git code management platform and tested Bitbucket, GitHub & GitLab. The onboarding and setup was very straightforward with GitHub and GitLab. Bitbucket is more complex to setup and the workflow is not really intuitive. It takes some time to find the thing you were looking for. We had solved the issue on the other two platforms and were still trying to find it on Bitbucket....
- Jira integration - Trello integration - Pricing is a little bit better than GitHub/GitLab
- User interface is very complicated and not intuitive - Setup is quite complex - Not as many third-party integrations as GitHub/GitLab

It was a good experience in general terms, in that moment I didn't need DevOps tools so it was a good tool, it solved the requirement
I like the fact that you can have as many as you want private repositories on different teams without pay anything.
compared with GitLab it have some features missing such as DevOps Tools

A good alternative to GitHub and GitLab if you're looking for an Atlassian-ecosystem product.
Close integration with tools like JIRA is really useful if you're working within the Atlassian ecosystem already, and having free private repositories was always a boon whilst GitHub lacked that functionality.
A broader range of integrations exist overall for GitHub than exist for Bitbucket, so if you're not choosing Atlassian products for everything, you may find that GitHub is a better system. Emerging alternatives like GitLab may also be better if you want an on-premise solution.

My overall experience is good, it integrates well with jira and my client likes it.
It completes all the DEVOPS Atlassian ecosystem, you have a option for server or sas version and you also have a API in order to implement a lot of extensions or inderactions with the repository.
It must implement stuff like Github and Gitlab in order to be more competitive.

We move from gitlab and was the best decision to manage our code. Great experience.
Our team is using it for five years and we have a great experience always, never experience downtime, a lot of integrations, great support.
A weird integration between products, if you have JIRA, Confluence or other atlassian products there are differents account that are merged.

It's been very easy going. I have more experience with GitHub, GitLab etc and BitBucket has been great.
It's in the Atlassian family, and as a Product Development leader already deeply immersed in mostly Atlassian products this has been a game changer. It's very user friendly, and not overwhelming to get new folks onboarded. It's clean and easy.
I wish we could have more permissions for structure with our developers. We do have the premium version which is absolutely fairly priced, I just wish it had a bit more control. Haha, but this could just be my opinion.

Not terrible, but my workflow is slow down by it rather then sped up.
Allows unlimited private repositories. Unfortunately for them, I discovered GitLab and GitHub now has limited free private repos.
The UI is not as intuitive as it could be. It often takes me longer than it should to find the menu option I am looking for.

It does pretty much everything other git systems do (e.g., Github, GitLab). Nothing unexpected, which isn't a bad thing.
- It does everything you expect: pull requests, forking, etc. The feature list is pretty standard for all git systems now. - (Obvious) easily integration with JIRA
- It's getting prettier in newer versions, but it still feel just somehow a little outdated.

Bitbucket was great for helping me plan what order to add features to several projects I was working on.
- Easier than GitHub and GitLab to navigate through repositories and source code - Nicer website design - Easier to share with collaborators
- Complex to users who have never used version tracking before. But this was not an issue for me.

I have really enjoyed using Bitbucket and it has enabled me to work in teams on private projects that I have completed and found it a really nice to use platform.
I really like that it's free for teams of up to 5 people, even on private projects. The Atlassian-style interface looks really modern The mobile clients work really well with it
Lack of free project management tools that competitors like GitLab offer CI platform is hard to use for beginners

Atlassian, Jira, Confluence, BitBucket. Not a lot more to say. GitLab integrates well with Atlassian, but BitBucket is made for it, so there is no possible comparison.
I still feel more confortable with GitLab CI/CD tools, but I do not think BitBucket has anything to dislike.

Managed remote source code repositories with clear version control and change history are essential. If you don't have this bitbucket is the easiest way to do it.
Amongst its competitors (github, gitlab) I find BB to have the most straight-forward user interface while still offering all of the features I need.
Bitbucket just works. It's easy to integrate teams, repos, keys, all the stuff you need to get started and there's plenty of scope for CI/CD for more advanced workflows.

A good and free alternative for the Github or Bitbucket.
- allows to setup CI / CD in easy way, gentle learning curve; - ability to install on premises to have a good level of security; - free version;
Don’t think there are huge pain points while using it for my projects, probably one of them could be is the issues I was facing while migration to a newer versions.

Very good as a backup and alternative dvcs system.
We mainly used gitlab as DVCS against other DVCS systems , and mainly used on GitLab the CICD + pipelines. Pretty easy to setup and onboard new projects.
Not as well known vs github and Bitbucket... and integration with documentation and issuemanagement systems is a bit weaker than the alternatives.

It was very easy to setup, all the features are controlled by one account and the UI makes it very easy to navigate around.
Everything is packed in one place. The issue tracker platform, git repository management, pipelines for continuous integration and continuous development are all managed with one account and are easily accessible on the dashboard. It also supports protected branches, my favourite part is that it is free and open source. It supports integration with other systems via webhooks and the UI is super awesome.
It only supports git unlike bitbucket that has support for Mercurial. It doesn't support windows if you want to install it and not all the features are free.

Gitlab is integrated with my app task manager and I'm very happy because every time we make a commit, the app store and track every push in task details and it's awesome.
No doubt this is the best git repo service in the market for free at this moment, I moved from Bitbucket and I'm very happy with the change. The pros for this: Simple UI, every feature in the right place, You can install the entire system in your own server (this is awesome), and tons of apps integrated (this is the reason that I moved from bitbucket), like clickup.
The only cons for this service is the speed, certainly their competitors are faster doing a pull or even a push.

From the get go, GitLab has been amazing to work with. It was a breeze to integrate their API, too.
We might be moving everything over to GitLab from Bitbucket because they allow for unlimited team members on unlimited private repos. Our upcoming product already integrates with GitLab for that reason. If our marketplace has BitBucket instead, then we'd easily lose thousands of dollars in our first month! GitLab even open sourced their code in case we want to run our own proprietary servers at some point. How cool is that!
The only things I can think of that might be an issue is that we don't control the permissions that each role has attached to it. However, at this moment we don't need that functionality anway. Also, the docs could use a bit of work. For instance, it doesn't properly explain what each item in the JSON object does, or what values enumerated items have. I often need to fish for that info elsewhere. It'd also be immensely helpful to know the types of responses we'll get when we call it, and what errors to watch out for.

It's good for what it's done, simple and efficiant code management. Lacks more integrations and tools for other SW Engineering levels (deploy, project management).
It works just fine, serves for source code and version management and will deliver a nice interface with basic git flow.
It ends up being too simple while some high-level competitors like Github or Bitbucket have a full tool suite for software management in all steps of the process.
