Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Scanopy overview
What is Scanopy?
Scanopy provides automated network discovery and diagramming capabilities that generate and maintain live network topology maps without manual intervention. A lightweight scanning daemon continuously discovers hosts, services, and subnets across network infrastructure. Visual representations of both Layer Two and Layer Three connections are constructed automatically as the scan progresses.
The scanning daemon employs multiple protocols, including Simple Network Management Protocol, Link Layer Discovery Protocol, Cisco Discovery Protocol, and Address Resolution Protocol, to map topology and identify connected devices. The platform fingerprints and displays more than two hundred thirty distinct services per host, encompassing containerized applications such as Docker, database systems such as PostgreSQL, and web servers such as nginx, directly within topology visualizations. Configurable scheduling enables automatic regeneration of topology maps whenever network changes occur, and built-in version history functionality allows the creation of branches, the locking of specific network states, and the comparison of topology changes over time. Export options support Scalable Vector Graphics, Portable Network Graphics, Mermaid diagram syntax, and Confluence markup. Live view links and iframe embedding facilitate real-time sharing of diagrams without requiring recipient authentication.
The software supports both self-hosted and cloud deployment models. The Community Edition is available under the Affero General Public License version three for organizations preferring on-premises infrastructure control. The architecture is implemented in Rust combined with a Svelte and TypeScript interface, and operates without per-device agents or credentials stored on monitored hosts.
Integration capabilities focus on documentation workflow tools, with native export support for Confluence and embedding options for external platforms through iframe implementation. The solution addresses the needs of IT teams, managed service providers, and infrastructure administrators who require accurate and current network documentation. The platform distinguishes itself by focusing exclusively on network documentation rather than treating mapping as an ancillary feature to monitoring solutions.
