EXP-Instandhaltung is a comprehensive software package for maintenance management. The program has been continuously developed by an engineering company since its launch in 1991. The task of the system is to organize scheduled maintenance and unplanned repairs. In addition to appointment management and a ticket system, EXP-Instandhaltung has some additional functions, such as external company management, a shift log, test equipment management, and an alerts app.

This is also where users store their maintenance data. EXP-Instandhaltung recognizes four types of orders such as orders with a time cycle, orders with an operating data cycle, planned repairs, unplanned orders, and malfunction messages/tickets. A maintenance queue shows the periodic schedules and repairs that are due. If a fault message arrives, it is listed accordingly. After completion, the processor reports the order as completed in the system.
