Gage control that will pass an ISO Audit
The clone gage option saved me numerous hours entering all the gages into the system. The sorting button for gage type is a big help.

Using GageTrak as our only gage control software has improved our professionalism and allowed full conformance to IATF 16949:2016 requirements while aiding our technicians to keep reliable gages in the hands of our operators and inspectors. The use of reliable gages helps keep the reliability of our products at the world-class standard required in today's business climate.
This is a complete package, fully in compliance with automotive quality system requirements. Although some initial training is usually required for those employees unfamiliar with basic gage control processes, an experienced gage control professional would find the operation and routines to be intuitive.
The licensing scheme is workable but I would rather see a process that allows a certain number of concurrent users and also allows the software to be seamlessly installed on numerous computers not requiring uninstall and re-install to move the software to other computers.

It is a tool that allows us to track the calibration status and location of the inspection gages not only within QC but also within the plant. The structured reports are adequate for our needs.
The software accurately records the gage management metrics and provides easy reporting and functionality for our 300+ gage inventory.
In a corporate setting, it must run on a remote server, and responses are delayed by a few seconds. This situation did not exist when it was on a server at the same physical site. This is not the software's fault, but that of the environment. I have had some difficulty loading values into a spreadsheet to re-import. Not all fields can be updated in this method, apparently.

control of our gages that is mostly paperless.
It ties together most aspects of gage control. The ways it ties everything together makes audits go very well.
It does not have a floating network license so every pc needs a dedicated license to operate so I needed to have a laptop to attend audit meetings.

Other than ease of compliance I cant think of any.
Once you get used to it its really easy to use. Probably the nicest feature is the ability to clone gages which makes new gage entry so much easier.
The Gage Kitting feature is a nightmare. Once you put a gage in a kit and issue it is impossible to delete the kit and remove the gage. I have resorted to manually changing the gage location after numerous attempts to delete the kit record and inadvertently deleted the gage record.

Learned what I like vs what is not needed for a calibration system. Do like the FDA version for traceability.
Linked functions for gages and parts. History is shown as well as the option to link related documents.
Upgrade version 7.0 lost functionality in the Gage Usage area. No gage should ever not have a calibration due date assigned to it, as happens when Gage frequency is set to Usage.

When using the Usage frequency, the program won¿t create a next due date for calibration, but it will create an estimated due date based on the gage usage, even if you enter a calibration record for the gage. When you issue the gage, GAGEtrak predicts a due date based on the remaining number of usage days. You must use Issue Tracking (Issue/Return) for this to work and as long as you don¿t run out of Uses Left, there will be no Next Due Date until you issue the gage again. I do not like it when lots to wait for the print image. (e.g. Report viewer -> Gage Detail Report -> Gage ID )

I like the quick option in trying to locate a gage and not having to type the complete gage number.
The instructions were not user friendly in trying to figure out the different options (MSA, etc.) I tried naming a gage with a # sign, I placed ( ) around the # sign, then I tried using the quick option to locate the gage, it couldn't be found, then in turn I had to rename the gage without the # sign.
Hi Renee. Symbols are characters generally reserved for programming and should not be used for data, most importantly in the Gage ID field, but also throughout the rest of GAGEtrak. Roll gage setup, Calibration Thread specifications
The ease of setting up the specifics for the gage that we need. It is very intuitive and easy to work through.
Several of the parameters that we need to impute in to the field are not available and not all of the gages that we set are selectable.

Having the MSA 4.0 compliance.
Our previous version was not MSA 4.0 compliant. Like having the latest and greatest. Customer support was most helpful.
Quick Filter resets to first gage on the list instead of last gage called for. Can't customize Dashboard.

gage tracking and calibration scheduling.
easy to use. makes tracking gages and calibration schedules simple and organized. seems to be highly customizable if you have the time to figure it out.
not enough characters allowed in the description box which is probably editable but i haven't looked into it that much. if i would have been asked this question awhile back i'm sure i would find more to complain about but at the moment i'm not recalling anything that frustrated me using the software, although i definitely remember having some frustrations at one time or another.

better gage tracking and reports
Easy to use between the Gages and Calibration tabs. Also the clone gage feature makes it easy to duplicate gages
Reports feature is difficult to use. Have to click on the reports then another click into the feature. Why not just click on reports and have them available?

Easy to add a gage and easy to locate specific gages with *and partial gage info. The cloning feature is very nice.
Printing is a hassle, passing more then one gage at a time would save me lots of time. Editing stickers or customizing them is difficult.

I actually like the gage-track software because it really is a great way to stay organized each day.
I like the software a lot, it helps me to organize my gage calibration intervals accurately.
You have to go off of the tab every time that you want to re-enter a gage?

The ease of adding and maintaining records. Customer service is always very helpful and prompt with their assistance.
Software has a tendency to put gage calibration records in random order. Other than that I have no complaints about the software.

Regarding the sort order of your calibration records: by default, calibration records are sorted by Calibration Date ¿ descending. To sort your records by the field of your preference, you can place your cursor in that field, and then on the toolbar under Sort, click Ascending or Descending. That new sort preference will still be active the next time you open GAGEtrak, until it is changed by you or another GAGEtrak user in your company. Managing and monitoring the gage movement easily.
i can create my own design report and easy to manage. share information with end user. can print the detail of gage description and print with PDF.
cannot do anything while server connection is failed. Manual updating to excel sheet for distribute to end user.

Software is great. Training that we went through was not very helpful in most cases. needs to be a happy medium that shows people how to use the software but not go into great detail but also not too little detail.
Alot of features, easy to manipulate and populate, works well and communicates with other outside devices
Training was not very good. no in between sessions for people that have experience with gage calibration software of any kind

KEEPING ACCURATE RECORDS TO GAGE CALIBRATION AND FREQUENCY.
I FIND THAT WHILE USING THE SOFWARE THE ADVANTAGE OF MANIPULATING BETWEEN SCREENS IS A GREAT BENEFIT AND MAKES MY JOB SO MUCH MORE EASY. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS TYPE OF SOFTWARE BEFORE COMING TO MY COMPANY AND IT IS BENEFICIAL.
AT THIS TIME AND WITH USING THE SOFWARE FOR OVER 3 YEARS I HAVE NO CONS THAT I CAN READILY THINK OF. THE SOFTWARE IS EASY TO LOG INTO AND EASY TO MANIPULATE EVEN FOR SOMEONE WITH LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OR TRAINING.

Best way to manage your calibration.
Compare to everything else on the market it is still the best gage software in my opinion. Easiest one to use.
It is not easy to fix typos in the categories that save what you write. Also the newer version is not as user friendly.

GAGE TRACKING - REQUIRED BY FDA AND OUR CUSTOMERS
EASE OF USE. WE TRACK A LOT OF GAGES AS EACH CUSTOMER HAS SPECIFIC GAGE REQUIREMENTS SO BEING ABLE TO NAVIGATE QUICKLY IS A HUGE PLUS.
THAT IT REQUIRES A 2003 RUNTIME ACCESS DATABASE FOR THE 6.8 VERSION. THIS WILL CREATE FUTURE ISSUES (AND ALMOST DID) WHEN UPGRADING OUR COMPANIES SOFTWARE ON USER MACHINES.

Easy to use for everyone. Very friendly software with great features. Facilitates gage tracking and helps to meet ISO requirements.
I think price is at the high end versus other options out there. Need to look to get more competitive in pricing.

I am sure there were a lot of benefits. I have not worked with any other software of this type.
Easy to navigate through. Everything you need is right in front of you in the Navigation bar. I absolutely love that I can change what days calibration are able to fall on. I work 4-10s. I have it set up that Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are not available for calibration. Everything is due Monday to Thursday.
This software is amazing. I have not found a Con in the year and a half I have been using Gage Trak 7.

Gage tracking capability made easy. Love the new dashboard feature.
Multiple tabs can be open at once, easy to use, and has so many functions available. This program is easy to use.
It freezes up or slows down. Compacting and repairing every few days. Program is not very compatible with Microsoft Office 365.

Once the software is useable, the emailing work orders will be very beneficial. I currently control gage items in two different building about a mile apart. I currently have to hand deliver the work orders. IN the next couple of years that building will be moving 50 miles north. That is when the emailing will really help!
The software has a lot of dependencies on Access, and other programs that our IT polices block GageTrak from running properly. Hence why we have had it since February and still can not use it. This is no fault of GageTrak or CyberMetrics.
