Socrative vs Kahoot!: Why they switched from Kahoot! to Socrative

Joel:                                                  My name is Joel. I'm a teacher, and I was using Kahoot!, but now I use Socrative. For more reviews like this, click below. Both Kahoot! and Socrative are great at assessing and modifying instruction for students, so I can know where they're at and what they need to know going forward. So both these products do a really great job of making fun, engaging ways to assess student learning. We can get whole class quizzes. We can do test-based answers and responses. I can give them homework, but the thing that Socrative does that no other company does is they let you set up a single login ID every single time. So your students don't have to mess with different codes. They don't have to figure out which room they're supposed to be in. There's no confusion. They go to the same room anytime you want to use it.
                                                       Kahoot! is much better on the free platform. If you're not paying for a subscription, Kahoot! offers the better sense of scale on what you're doing. And Kahoot! is also something that the students have much more familiarity with. It plays music the whole time they're going, and it really connects with them from a young age. Getting started with both Kahoot! and Socrative, it's very simple. Both of them use a login where you can set up your own account, or you can log in through Google. Both of them allow you to save, store, create, edit your own as well as other people's assessments. The only thing that I would say Socrative has the edge for me is that I can connect it directly and import from my Google Classrooms, whereas Kahoot! operates separately, but they're both really easy to get started. When you're making a choice between these kind of assessment softwares, what you really want is the quality of the assessment options and the ability to engage students. Both of these provide that in a high level.
