Pros

What i like with Nitro is it is so easy to use with super friendly tools that even a beginner can use this app.
Meanwhile, Pro Edition has a lot to offer especially for big businesses which totally worth the investment. I really love using it, and I would continue to use it and recommend it to my friends.
Nitro is a valuable software and which helps to save our documents and also helps to protect environmental too.

Pros

Super easy editing functions and simple design structure makes it one of a kind. Having the app made it super easy to scan stuff in and convert it to a PDF for work.
It has great editing features and the printing quality features are superb. It also has an option to save as pdf file if you are printing any word/browser files into pdf.
It loads fast and let's me print and save with ease. Very important tool for my buiensess to help me view invoices and contracts.

Cons

What i dislike from this software is about the update. There is no regular updates.
OCR scanning comes with errors, extracting text from a file will have small errors.
Customer Service is horrible. I have had to re-activate my license at least three or four times in the one year that I have been using the product.

Cons

Doesn’t always function if I’m not the administrator and I can hardly understand the verbiage or wording of it. It’s annoying to use and hate using software that require Abode.
Another problem we have is when the product files get corrupted (and we don't know why).
Many features are not available without upgrading to more expensive versions - my biggest complaint is the lack of editing available in this version.

Decent PDF software

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

- Quickly able to convert excel files to PDF or vice versa, which I frequently do at my job. Fairly easy to edit PDF files as well

Cons

- Experienced brief instances of freezing, as well as I found it more difficult to add headers/add text than competing PDF softwares (like Adobe). Process of editing, removing and adding text is easier with Adobe Acrobat Reader

A Great Tool for .pdf

Reviewed 5 years ago

I've been using Nitro for several years now. It sure saves a lot of time and frustration when it comes to working with .pdf files, once you know how to use it (it's actually very user friendly).

Pros

Very easy to use with a lot of different, useful features. Separate, combine, and edit .pdf files.

Cons

Sometimes, the edit features didn't translate too well into other software. For example, if you changed somehting on a .pdf, those changes didn't always show up properly if someone opened the document in Adobe reader or acrobat.

Product works, Customer Service is horrible

Reviewed 5 years ago

I am generally happy with the product (although it is slow on certain things such as OCR), but as noted above, the Customer Service is simply horrible.

Pros

It works okay, much less expensive than Adobe Acrobat

Cons

Customer Service is horrible. I have had to re-activate my license at least three or four times in the one year that I have been using the product. I have NOT changed computers, but apparently, each time my laptop updates something (I have no clue what), my license deactivates. There is no one that I can reach out to at the company to let them know of my problem, no customer service availability. No phone, and no e-mail for feedback. I am sorry that we are using this product and will probably switch the next chance we get.

Nitro

An affordable PDF editing program

Reviewed 2 years ago

It is a fine alternative to Adobe Acrobat for it's price.

Pros

The program runs well and isn't too hard to get used to. You can create, edit, and share PDF documents and more. One of the best features is that if you have Microsoft Word you can set it up so you can write a Word document and send it to Nitro with a click. Then you can customize it and make a PDF out of your Word document, and even digitally sign it.

Cons

Sometimes I have had the program crash unexpectedly. It also doesn't have as many features as say Adobe Acrobat would have.

Nitro, an alternative to Acrobat, but just as expensive

Reviewed 2 years ago

My main use of Nitro when I used it was to create PDF files from scanned physical documents, I mean hundreds of pages, even a thousand or two thousand pages in a single document, so the size of the files was really big. In this aspect I have no complaints about this program, it behaved very well with the number of pages entered, even on low-resource computers (intel Core i5 and 4 GB of RAM)

Pros

The only thing that led me to use Nitro was that it was the program used by the company I worked for, but I did not find any significant advantage to use it instead of Acrobat, at least in the use that I gave it, which was to create, edit and print PDF files

Cons

You might think that Nitro would be a cheap alternative to Adobe Acrobat, but Nitro prices are on the same level as Acrobat prices, so using Acrobat would be the smartest choice.

A good low cost alternative to Adobe

Reviewed 3 years ago

A very good low cost alternative to Adobe Acrobat with good features.

Pros

The licensing is much cheaper and far easier to deal with than Adobe. It is also more reliable than Adobe Acrobat, in the years of using this we never had any issues with installs going wrong or random error messages unlike Adobe Acrobat.

Cons

They are missing a few usefult features that Adobe Acrobat has such as automatically detecting where you want to put editable fields on a document.

Pros

Faster than Adobe Acrobat, less buggy, and doesn't require a subscription!

Reviewed 5 years ago

I was looking for a tool with all the functionality from Adobe Acrobat, without the bugginess and monthly subscription.

Pros

Nitro is quick to start, has great editing options and image to text functionality. It doesn't have any of the buggy quirks that Adobe Acrobat does, like freezing with a grey screen whenever you try and sign a document. Best of all, it doesn't require an ongoing subscription!

Cons

The website to purchase the software was a little bit confusing, with some outdated links and information, though the software itself has been great without any flaws found so far.

Nitro PDF for advanced PDF viewing

Reviewed 5 years ago

I am really satisfied with the functions that Nitro extends. However, the edit option is available in its paid full version. Yet, I prefer it over Adobe PDF reader or Foxit reader.

Pros

The most interesting part of the software is the 'Edit' PDF option which is pretty much not available in any other competitive software. Extracting and combining PDF files from PDFs or other file formats like JPG is another advantage.

Cons

The software is pretty heavy for the processor if there are many PDF files open. Hence, this could be a hardware limited option at times. Yet, the pros are much more worth it over this issue.

The best benefit I get from Nitro is the ability to create and edit PDF files.

Pros

I really like that it can be cheaper than Adobe, and that it does pretty much the same thing that acrobat does.

Cons

I like Adobe's subscription model and Nitro does not have that, to my knowledge. It is really beneficial in a corporate environment to be able to move a subscription around from one user to another.

Beware - no technical support OR contact with company

Reviewed a month ago

I've been using Nitro Pro for over 5 years. Until last year, everything worked as expected. Then it stopped working on my bosses' machine and started not being able to open some pdf files (no idea what's different about those files than the ones it will open). This means Nitro Pro is now only really useful for certain pdf files. Even worse, there is simply no technical support available and I find that disturbing at best. I certainly can't recommend Nitro Pro to anyone. A company that produces software products and doesn't offer technical support for those products is simply a bad bet for anyone, for commercial or personal use.

Pros

It has been a good alternative to a subscription with Adobe Acrobat. We purchased perpetual licensing. It works well when it works.

Cons

No technical support No way to contact the company unless I want to purchase more One of our licenses will not work correctly on one of our Windows 10 machines (i.e. the bosses computer) and there's simply no way to get assistance from the company. It can't open some pdf files (says they're corrupted - but they're not since Adobe Acrobat Reader can open them). Which means I can't edit those pdf files.

Nitro and its tools for PDF file manipulation

Reviewed 2 years ago

I used nitro in my first years of university replacing Adobe Acrobat Reader, I liked it very much for the ease of use it has, in addition to the tools it provides, however the greatest strength is in its pro edition that is totally worth investing to have a good software for the manipulation of pdf files.

Pros

Nitro consists of many tools apart from viewing PDF documents, conversion, annotation, editing, merging, splitting, file size reduction, all of which are useful tools that can be used without the need to use an external application.

Cons

Certain compatibility errors made it slow on some devices, like all paid software, in order to access the aforementioned tools you have to subscribe to the service. Therefore, the tools provided in a free plan are reduced but sufficient to work normally.

Decent alternative to Adobe Acrobat

Reviewed 4 years ago

Nitro is a lighter-weight, cheaper alternative to Adobe Acrobat. As long as you're not using it in a remote Citrix-led environment, this is an excellent choice for all your PDF needs beyond reading them. But in the Citrix-led environment, stick with Adobe.

Pros

The installer takes up less space, install time is cut in half compared to Adobe and the program also takes up less space as well. Loads faster, functionality is virtually the same as Adobe.

Cons

The print to PDF function works well unless in a Citrix environment where Adobe modules are preloaded into the Citrix machine. When that happens, printing out of Citrix's print to PDF is useless.

Organized, combined, convert your PDF files with Nitro

Reviewed 2 years ago

I used to work on my pdf files with Adobe Acrobat Reader before however, things changed when I discovered Nitro PDF. It's very easy to use, user-friendly interface and is very suitable for small businesses. Meanwhile, Pro Edition has a lot to offer especially for big businesses which totally worth the investment. I really love using it, and I would continue to use it and recommend it to my friends.

Pros

Nitro PDF is really good in terms of viewing, editing, merging, splitting, converting, reducing file size, deleting unwanted pages, and adding signatures to your PDF documents which means that you don't need to use third-party or external applications. It's very simple, very light with very low storage requirements. I have no experienced hanging while working with Nitro PDF.

Cons

I had some little concern with the conversion of PDF to MS Word files. Sometimes, you will lose the formatting you set up and you have to do the formatting again. But it's not a big deal actually. I still love it.

Don't expect to do anything other than view PDFs. You can't use this to create or edit them - you need the pro version for that.

A great program ,but getting worse .

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

Great at opening pdf . The bread and butter of Acrobat is editing pdf pages, it is second to none when it comes to singling out pages and altering them .

Cons

I feel each new update makes Acrobat more complicated to use . I find myself preferring Nitro more and more because of that .

Pros

I use the free version of this software and find it works better than some of the other free options like nitro. I find it easy to use and use it daily.

Cons

The con would be many functions are only for the purchased version of the software.

I am using adobe acrobat reader since 2005 in the office. I almost used its all versions as well as nitro. It makes my daily world easy and protected.

Pros

Adobe reading is very essential if you are a part of any sale based organization. The best thing is we can generate read-only sales contracts or invoices. we can make password-protected files. File conversion into any format is the very best option for the product.

Cons

I think form generation tool should be added

Adobe Acrobat Reader is the industry standard but there are other choices

Reviewed 6 years ago

Over all i us Acrobat Reader all of the time however i have also deployed competing products like Foxit and Nitro. I have found them just as good at less than half the price

Pros

I have used Adobe Acrobat Reader for many years. it is the industry standard for creating or editing PDF files. I have deployed it for many clients. The most common desired feature is obviously creating a pdf from any application. Another is the use of Bates stamps for my legal clients

Cons

At times the product is hard to use when drilling down to some of the most advanced editing features of the program. The in product help also needs a rework

There's room for improvement!!!

Reviewed 5 years ago

I have Acrobat Reader DC installed on every PC at my workplace and haven't come across the need to look for another PDF handling software yet. If you need to work with PDFs a lot this is the best software out there.

Pros

Adobe Acrobat is the leading software when it comes to handling PDF files. The numerous amount of features offered is the most appealing attribute of the software. There are many good PDF software available in the market but none can compete the functionality offered by Acrobat Reader DC.

Cons

Most of the features offered are paid and require you to subscribe to the software. However, other software offer some of these features for free and can be considered once. One such software is Nitro PDF.

Good software but limited options

Reviewed 3 years ago

It's great software if you just need it to open PDFs. If you need more options, you are overpaying and better shop for cheaper alternatives.

Pros

It's being used all around the world, so that's a good thing in terms of interchangeability. Comes from a solid company so will last for a long time.

Cons

I miss the option to protect the PDFs with a password. If you want, you have to subscribe to the paid version of € 200 per year! You are better off buying a standalone version from a competitor, such as Nitro Pro.

Acrobat Reader DC REVIEW

Reviewed 5 years ago

As a post graduate student in engineer, I usually use adobe reader for reading e books, PDF texts, Note books etc. The main reason behind my love towards adobe is due to i can easily highlight important text like a physical note book. I can easily make commands. so i always use adobe for reading.

Pros

It is very easy & fast to open pdf files in Acrobat Reader DC compared to other reader softwares like Foxit reader & Nitro pdf reader. It is very easy to Highlighting text, Adding sticky notes and saving changes very fastly. Full features are available by making payment.

Cons

Creating pdf from files are not available for free version/demo, but when you compare to that of foxit reader they are providing this features for free (without payment). So for promoting Acrobat Reader DC it should include this feature for free. Some of my friends are not using Adobe reader because they are unable to save documents as pdf in free version, so i hope you will update this thing.

Over all I like the program and will continue to use it.

Pros

The free version is amazing and it works better then the other options out there like nitro pdf, edge pdf reader, and other similar versions. This program does everything I need it to do from viewing a pdf and printing it. The conversion to other formats on the paid version works really good also.

Cons

The printing gets crazy every now and then. The program updates often which makes it seem like everyday.
