I mainly use it for change orders, ECNs, drawing requests, and BOM management, and it helps keep everything organized and supports good team collaboration.

This reduces the need for a separate training LMS tool and the need for another headcount in HR to manage a certain portion of employee training.

I noticed that integrations with other enterprise systems can require extra setup effort, and some features may feel expensive as teams scale or need additional functionality. While email notifications are useful, they can sometimes become overwhelming without careful configuration.

Document management can be fine-tuned, still gaps in File numbers and associations; only 1 workspace allowed to be active at a time

On the security side, Arena provided confidence with controlled access, traceability, and reliable cloud infrastructure for handling product data.

Ability to check and compare between changes to BOMS for assembly part across Revisions and also with other similar assemblies is very good

Manufacturing engineer

While the core data management is very strong, the initial process of importing and mapping legacy data into the system can be quite cumbersome.

In real time, driving seamless design reviews, accelerated approval workflows, and faster time-to-market.

Technical Writer I

Right now I only get notification if someone adds me to a request which rarely happens in our workflow since we have multiple people working on similar requests.

Integration with other enterprise systems may require additional setup effort, and pricing can be higher for smaller teams or companies with limited PLM requirements.

Features like Change management with its live status and BOM data for items are good.

Arena mail notifications are also useful for tracking approvals and changes.

Any additional attributes desired or required (RoHS, WEEE, AEC-Q, etc.) can be added and set to required or optional.  

We even set up an incoming QC template for BUY parts to record details.

Lack of a complete document lifecycle management capability; i.e., from draft through review to approval.

There is also a BOM compare option that compared from Revision to Revision or a BOM to a different BOM.

Manufacturing Tech II

While using the program i am not able to find key terms very easily. Because of this I have to track down part numbers and this eats away at the time I have to get my job complete. if there was an easier or more accurate way to find names of parts it would make my life as lot easier and allow me to do my job quicker.

I know of no way to make changes/corrections for typos or spelling errors except by item by item.

Change request module allows for pre-review prior to submitting the actual change.  

Product Quality Engineering Specialist

User interface was much more accessible and organized compared with Agile PLM and provides helpful context on functions.

Automatic redlined BOMs (when importing a BOM on an already released BOM) make it easy to see what has changed.

We built out APQP to track stage gate release process and that worked really well.

It improves traceability and ensures better process control across teams.

Additionally, performance can occasionally be slow when handling large datasets.

Also, I think there should be some bubbles that can help understand individual buttons with org-specific information.

I absolutely loved seeing how easily different departments can collaborate simultaneously without any risk of data silos or communication errors.

Reporting and dashboard customization feel limited without add‑ons.

The audit management and the development of custom quality processes.  

Flexible notification system with clear routing and templates.

The UI also does not scale so you need to scroll your browser on nearly every page to find the "save" or other button way off in the corner off the page.

Electrical Systems Engineer

Arena is a useful document control/management tool with a straightforward training module system.  

Occasional UI lag on bulk updates and BOM imports.

Software Validation

It keeps everything organized and accessible, which is crucial for cross-functional teams. While there are some usability issues, the overall functionality makes it a valuable tool.

Compliance requirements can be set up as attributes on items.  

You can add other types of changes as may be required by your company.  

I also felt it delivered good value for money because it combines ease of use, scalability, and strong functionality without the heavy overhead that many traditional PLM systems have.

Cannot add multiple items to a request at once.

Types of changes are ECO, DCO, MCO and deviations.  

It is difficult to work with multiple workspaces at the same time.

The tab-based layout makes it simple to navigate between BOMs etc.

I use ARENA PLM every day, often multiple times per day.
