For example, I have a couple of programs (including Macrium) that occasionally lose their key settings files on one of my computers. If I can't restore in a simpler way, I can restore the last good copy from a backup with a minimum of fuss, seeing & even opening the file(s) in question before restore.

I can rely on the fact that I can always restore my image to different to a different machine using the bare metal restore feature.

That's kind of understandable because you don't want to have what you think is a backup but is just random noise on some disk sectors, but it is useful to be able to complete the backup anyway and know some of it might be flaky - better to have some data than none at all, and typically in this case you might be trying to save a drive that is failing.

Simple answer, It has not yet let me down in restoring a backup to a PC or server when it has been necessary to do so.
