Graylog can be totally free, and you can collect logs from windows and linux systems and from other devices such as firewalls and switches (there are many more).

And with the available plugins, you can take what you had and improve. Simple example, in the past I would get an email of all errors but now I can get an email, Slack or push it as a ticket via API.
