Pros

I loved the fact that i had so many features available in one environment and each one of them worked perfectly fine. The key word is Customizability.
They do excellent software, excellent customer support and excellent patching-keeping the product up to date. You will never be disappointed to go with them.
The ease of use and the go to for help on topics are very helpful. This allows to set it up faster, and they have good training and support.

Pros

Jamf Pro has been reliable and a great Apple management solution for us. We are assured that any Mac coming in the door will be managed and managed reliably.
Super easy to use, makes Apple TV deployment super easy. The integration with DEP and all that fun stuff is pretty awesome.
Thorough training and certification programme, very responsive and helpful user community (Jamf Nation), still probably the most powerful mobile device management solution for macOS/iOS-fleets.

Cons

But the worst part is the support is extremely poor and unhelpful.
There are some minor UI inconsistencies between tabs that were weird to figure out (only at first) and the current knowledgebase is somewhat minimal.
The process to configure and distribute apps is lengthy, time consuming and confusing at the beginning.

Cons

It actually makes my work processes super inefficient, because i'm constantly batting weird errors and frustrating password resets.
I'm in education so they're not making any money off is (given the high level of support everyone receives). There are no tiers of service, no packages for support, and no BS.
The interface can become confusing and overwhelming to novice user.

Well Rounded Device Management

Really enjoyed the solution and look forward to continue to work with it

Pros

Provides a really solid patching and inventory management solution. Was easy to creating automatic patching of all OS and Third Party applications across multiple OS.

Cons

Took a little while to get initial setup of the application. Used Jamf and Intune to deploy and took about 2 days of tinkering to get it fully setup.

Manage Engine has another great product

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

Ease of use and cost of deployment. We use Jamf for our iPad deployments, and it's really a gold star standard but can't handle Android or windows devices, and frankly, cost what it's worth. Manage Engine is cheaper, with just as must customization.

Cons

It may be not quite as intuitive but customer support is super responsive in helping working out the issues.

Free is amazing, relatively cheap cost per device after that

Reviewed 2 years ago

The interface can certainly get some getting used to, and some features seem to be in less obvious places, so you end up going to and from places a lot, but you get used to it. For the free, or cheap licence, its something I dont do that often.

Pros

The fact you get 25 for free, on the Pro plan is really something - I havent seen anyone else do that, and it works well.

Cons

The ability to track devices for me is hit and miss. I think its due to the app not fully prompting to enable certain tracking features in Android. Thus at the moment I have a few devices out there somewhere, not updated in months, and no way for me to know where they are. If they implemented something like what.3.words for location, that could well really help if could based on last tracked location (for those where it is enabled).

Vendor response

Greetings from ManageEngine! Thank you for using our product! Can you please elaborate more on this location tracking issue so that we can share it with the concerned team? You can write to us at mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com

Short Learning Curve, was able to implement first device in minutes. Support is just a chat away Support is knowledgeable

Cons

We are using the Cloud Version, at times it gets a little slow. Screens do not adjust well to HD monitors (Surface Pro) however, that may be a function of the browser.

Great product!

Reviewed 6 years ago

It is awesome no longer having to touch every device to make a change.

Pros

I love being able to rapidly deploy and provision devices. This program has been a game changer for our company. Being able to remotely manage and push software to devices had been great and you don't need to be an IT pro to do it. Customer support is awesome and timely too!

Cons

Sometimes it can be difficult to find things you are looking for in the program. It can be a little clunky. I wish you could control more stock apps on iOS devices like you can on Android.

Vendor response

Hello Scott, Greetings from ManageEngine! Could you elaborate on your difficulties you faced? Also, we'd like to know iOS stock apps you want to manage, to see if we can work on that requirement. In case of further feature requests, you can mail us at mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com

Great content managment

Reviewed 3 years ago

Really good experience, managed to learn all I needed from the documentation (although some links are a little outdated)

Pros

We are considering moving 100 mobile licenses to Manage Engine's MDM from another MDM solely for the content management features. No one else seemed to have what we were looking for. Content stored on the cloud, I can assign it to groups and add devices to those groups, so that only the devices I want receive the content they need (we use during Language Exams, with multiple exams happening at the same time, it was a nightmare to manually upload the files to each devices, to then have to clear them and reupload files between exams

Cons

Not much yet, still in a trial phase, haven't found anything that our previous MDM had that this doesn't? For now having trouble finding a better way to manage the home screen layout, but I see it being a feature for the Pro version, so I might just need to unlock that yet

Best device manager at a reasonable price

Reviewed 4 years ago

The program has been a blessing. Even with using some devices that do not support full functionality, the program delivers on what it is intended for. We can remotely access, troubleshoot, add apps, remove apps and if it is lost or stolen, the wipe function and reset lock work great. We know this because we tested all of this before implementing our mobile devices and policies through ManageEngine MDM Plus.

Pros

I love that our mobile devices no longer have to be returned to the corporate office to have apps added/removed, or gerneral updates or corrections to be performed. We had many problems with employees downloading outside apps and now with ManageEngine, the only items available in the store are our applications. We have less issues, better management and superior control over our devices. The best part, is you do not have to be an IT Pro to implement this program, just a decent working knowledge of computers, mobile devices and networking.

Cons

Remote device access is great, but we wish we could access device without user input when the device is not being utilized.

Just what I needed

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

The free trial is great as an opportunity to ensure the product will work as intended. Once I learned the system, I quickly realized it was exactly what I was looking for. I needed a mobile device manager with single app mode, remote management and deployment, and kiosk mode. Manageengine worked perfectly!

Cons

Manageengine is a very comprehensive system (which is a pro). However, the UI could be "cleaned up" to be more user friendly. Believe it or not, logging in can be a bit tricky as well. And there is alot going on between Zoho, other connected apps (such as Samsung, etc.), and Manageengine. You really have to know what you're doing (or don't mind asking Google alot of questions) in order to truly figure out how to work with the system. If this isn't your thing you might throw your hands up and give up!

Vendor response

Greetings from ManageEngine! Thanks for using our product. Our team is working to improve the UI as well as enhancing the user experience. For future queries, write to us at mdmcloud-support@manageengine.com.

Jamf Pro

The platform offered extensive device management features and provided granular control over configurations, security policies, and app deployment. The centralized management capabilities and automation tools contributed to improved efficiency and enhanced device security. With improved accessibility to advanced configurations, Jamf Pro has the potential to be an even more valuable tool for organizations managing large fleets of Apple devices.

Pros

One of the aspects I liked most about Jamf Pro was its robust and comprehensive mobile device management (MDM) capabilities. The software provided a centralized platform for managing and securing Apple devices, making it easy to deploy, configure, and monitor devices at scale. The ability to enforce policies, distribute apps, and remotely troubleshoot devices significantly streamlined device management processes.

Cons

One aspect that I found less favorable about Jamf Pro was the learning curve associated with its advanced features and configuration options. While the basic functionalities were straightforward, fully utilizing the more complex capabilities required a deeper understanding of the software and its settings. Providing more accessible documentation or resources to guide users through advanced configurations would be helpful for maximizing the software's potential.

Far more efficient and effective Apple device management and deployment.

Pros

There are numerous levels to manage Apple products at. Once you have a structure built it is easy to deploy Apps and manage devices with or without user restrictions. Providing access to network printers is easy. Tasks that formerly took a long time by hand now are accomplished by policies applied to the device. It is very easy to configure new or reconfigure devices as staff comes and goes, or new equipment is purchased.

Cons

There is a lot of navigating through the pages (web interface) to accomplish tasks that are managed with multiple policies and configurations. An improvement to this infrastructure has been implied in a coming update to the software.

JAMF Is The Best MDM Out There For Apple Devices

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

- Excellent management of iOS devices due to their cozy relationship with Apple and their almost singular focus on iOS in the early stages of Casper's development - Can run on both Windows and MacOS servers without a problem (we run on windows) - Uses Open standardsTomcat and MySQL as their back-end - They update JAMF pro on a very regular basis and keep it very current with Apple's new functionality - Their tech support is consistently responsive and helpful

Cons

- Very expensive per-device licensing and the device count tiers are quite wide before you get a price break Database does not scale well beyond several thousand devices (engineer confirmed this to me) - Noticeably slower admin interface once you cross a certain device count threshold - Not very good with integrating/customizing AD schema to JAMF for inventory purposes

Pros

Ease of use when deploying the software to our users.

Cons

I would like a better way to track a stolen device for both computers, and ipads with GPS and instead of just locking. Since after that we lock a device, we never see any info again.
