What is Shimo?
Shimo is a virtual private network (VPN) software for Mac devices, which enables organizations to access the internet using a secure environment and hide confidential information from data theft and unauthorized access. The application supports multiple VPN protocols including SSH, OpenVPN, SSL, AnyConnect, IPSec, and PPTP.
Shimo enables businesses to establish secure network connections using AES-256 encryption standards and SHA-2 cryptographic hash functions to facilitate protected cryptographic key exchange across public or insecure channels. It offers a host of features such as two-factor authentication, preferences management, usage statistics, and more. It lets users establish and manage multiple VPN connections with different protocols, search for connected accounts, and create categories to group users.
Shimo includes automated triggers, which allows administrators to define custom conditions based on geographic location, Wi-FI network, encryption algorithm, network configuration, and more to automatically connect to specific servers and launch or terminate applications. Managers can also generate and export reports using the built-in accounting feature to gain insights into connections, data exchange, IP address, data traffic, and other metrics.
