Arch overview

What is Arch?

Arch is a dental laboratory management platform that leverages artificial intelligence to streamline operations across the case lifecycle from prescription intake to shipping and invoicing. The system consolidates multiple operational functions into a unified environment tailored for dental laboratories of various sizes. It eliminates manual data entry, standardizes quality control, and maintains real-time visibility across production workflows. Staff can focus on specialized tasks requiring clinical judgment while accurate operational data is preserved throughout the production process.

The solution includes a case intake module that extracts prescription details from uploaded documents with AI-based parsing of shade specifications, tooth numbers and material requirements. Digital impression files integrate directly from scanning systems such as 3Shape, Medit and DS Core and attach scan data to cases automatically. Case routing functionality queues completed production steps for reassignment with workload and due date visibility to support task allocation. Production tracking uses QR code scanning at workstation locations to log case progress with timestamps, workflow stages and technician identifications for current floor status.

The quality control module applies configurable checklists by case type, restricts final approvals to designated managers and returns failed inspections for rework prior to billing. Inventory management tracks stock levels, reorder thresholds and lot numbers while calculating material consumption and generating reorder suggestions with supplier details and purchase order creation. The invoicing component automates billing workflows tied to case completion, manages statements, payment processing and account-specific pricing structures. Shipping features include label generation, carrier tracking and account billing. Reporting and analytics deliver turnaround time analysis, remake tracking, profitability metrics and AI-generated recommendations for operational improvement. A dedicated drivers application supports creation of pickup and delivery routes, assignment to in-house drivers and real-time stop tracking with signature capture and delivery confirmation documentation.

Arch integrates with digital impression systems from 3Shape, Medit and Dentsply Sirona, with iTero integration in development, and connects directly with shipping carriers including FedEx, UPS, Purolator and Canada Post. The software supports additional connections to accounting and other third-party tools. The architecture adheres to HIPAA and PHIPA compliance standards with encryption at rest and in transit and undergoes continuous security scanning, testing and monitoring. Migration services transfer existing case histories, client account records, pricing tables and technician information from legacy systems into the platform as part of the implementation process.
