What is Carbon?
Carbon is VIQ Solutions' speech-to-text platform for broadcast television and news production. It runs in the browser.
Ordering: Upload audio and video in a wide range of codecs. Choose the type of transcription and the turnaround, and add media metadata such as show name, story slug, producer and date.
Transcription: Automated transcripts with speaker identification and a confidence indicator that highlights low-confidence words. Professional transcripts from VIQ's media transcriptionists reach 99% accuracy, and can be ordered with the automated transcript or after reviewing it.
Editing: Editable SMPTE timecodes synchronized with media playback, find and replace for keywords and quotes, customizable keyboard shortcuts, timecode offsets, speaker identification and clip excerpts.
Collaboration: Teams edit the same transcript, highlight sound bites, share ideas and ask questions within the platform.
Captioning and export: Create captions from the timecoded transcript. Export as DOC, PDF, TXT, SRT, VTT or JSON, along with the original media file or a compressed version. Search keywords across the text files in a folder.
Integrations: Integrates with the Sony Ci Media Platform.
Security: Files are encrypted at rest and in transit.
