Clearlane CAPA is a cloud-based corrective and preventive action management app built natively on Atlassian Forge, running entirely within the customer's own Atlassian Cloud site. Designed for quality, compliance, and engineering teams in regulated industries, it covers the full CAPA lifecycle on any existing Jira work item, including complaints, audit findings, defects, and incidents. No custom issue types, workflows, or fields are required in Jira to get started. The app supports compliance with ISO 9001 §10.2 (2015 and 2026 editions), ISO 13485 §8.5.2-8.5.3, and 21 CFR 820 (QMSR), making it applicable to pharma, biotech, medical device, and any ISO 9001-regulated environment.

The CAPA lifecycle includes containment, guided five-whys root cause analysis with cause categories (method, machine, material, people, measurement, environment, design), a cryptographically signed action plan, corrective actions tracked as linked Jira work items with automatic status sync, a date-driven effectiveness check with automated reminders, and a tamper-evident PDF evidence file generated at closure. Electronic signatures capture the signer's name, date, stated meaning, a pre-signing statement, a personal signing password, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed content. Any post-signing change to the problem, cause, or plan automatically invalidates the approval. A site-wide CAPA register provides metrics including open, late, and due counts; plans pending approval; checks due; median age; and first-time effectiveness rate.
