CueForge overview

What is CueForge?

CueForge is a browser based subtitle quality control and compliance application designed for professional subtitlers, captioners and localization specialists in streaming and broadcast media. The platform performs comprehensive checks against industry standards including verified Netflix presets while operating entirely within the web browser without uploading content to external servers. This local execution model makes the application suitable for projects involving embargoed content, non disclosure agreements and other scenarios that require strict data security. The design supports media localization workflows for both over the top streaming services and traditional broadcast delivery.

The quality control engine examines reading speed in characters per second, subtitle duration timing, line length constraints, gap intervals between cues and overlap detection. Subtitle files can be validated against verified Netflix presets for Latin and Arabic content as well as baseline configurations for other platforms. All threshold parameters remain fully editable to suit custom client specifications. The engine includes native support for right to left text with full bidirectional handling and Arabic shaping. The Pro tier generates exportable compliance reports in CSV and printable formats that document all detected issues for client sign off.

Style preserving conversion functions maintain color codes, positioning data, italics and line breaks across target formats. A live loss matrix displays the styling elements that will survive conversion before the transformation is committed. The editor interface features a timeline view with waveform visualization for frame by frame navigation and direct cue timing adjustments against the audio track. Built in functions include cue shifting and linear retiming with Pro tier features adding frame rate conversion, drift correction and audio based automatic resynchronization. On device transcription generates draft timed subtitles with word level alignment from audio or video files after a single speech model download. Batch processing via web workers enables conversion, retiming and quality control of entire folders while preserving a responsive interface and packaging results as downloadable archive files.

The free tier supports bidirectional import and export of SRT, WebVTT, SBV and ASS SSA subtitle formats. The Pro tier extends format support to SCC CEA six hundred eight, EBU STL, TTML IMSC, Apple iTT, MacCaption MCC CEA seven hundred eight and EBU TT D with full preservation of styling and timing information. All parsing, conversion, analyses and audio processing operations execute locally in the browser. The only network communications are Pro license validation checks and cookieless analytics that do not transmit subtitle content. This architecture ensures complete content confidentiality throughout the localization workflow.
