DealSafe overview

What is DealSafe?

DealSafe is a cloud-based FTC compliance software and specialist support program built for auto dealerships, including franchised dealers, independent dealers, Buy Here Pay Here stores, and multi-rooftop dealer groups. The platform covers all ten FTC Safeguards Rule requirements and the Red Flags Rule through a structured, pre-built program that eliminates the need for dealerships to construct compliance workflows from scratch. Delivered via web-based access on a per-rooftop subscription model, DealSafe scales to dealerships of all sizes, from small rooftops serving under 5,000 consumers to large dealer groups operating across multiple locations.

DealSafe addresses the full compliance lifecycle across dealership-specific environments, including the showroom, F&I office, DMS, website leads, and service lane. Core capabilities include Qualified Individual support with a job description and task calendar, a guided written risk assessment, an access review workflow that flags shared DMS logins and stale accounts with a per-rooftop sign-off trail, and a system inventory tracking customer data locations and encryption status. The platform also provides an MFA rollout checklist with stored verification evidence, penetration testing calendar coordination and results logging, short video employee training auto-assigned to new hires with completion logging, a vendor register with contract language and reassessment reminders, a living incident response plan template customized per store, and one-click annual board report compilation. Red Flags Rule compliance is supported through driver's license scanning and secure customer intake. Role-based PII access restricts sensitive data to general managers and finance managers, while giving sales floor staff deal-status visibility only.

DealSafe maintains a continuously updated Book of Evidence audit file throughout the subscription period, providing dealerships with a ready-to-present record for regulatory review. Specialist support is included in the subscription, covering free gap assessments and Saturday availability. Penetration testing coordination, which NADA has estimated costs approximately $23,000 as a standalone engagement, is managed within the subscription, reducing out-of-pocket compliance costs for dealerships subject to FTC requirements.
